    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Your babies look real good also. It is like Christmas everytime a clutch hatches out isn't it? Well Tere your Good Guy report is quite long now you should have no problem selling Zeuse's babies once he breeds with those girls you have.

Cathy, you have NO idea how right you are about that. Tere and John have been a HUGE help to me lately, and I cannot appreciate them enough. Not only do they have THE HEALTHIEST dragons I have EVER seen, but they are also two of the GREATEST people I have ever dealt with. I've talked to them many times about dragons and other related issues, I have traded numerous emails with them, and I have received four amazing dragons from them. Just when I think they can't impress me any more, they prove me wrong.

You can have all the best bloodlines in the world, but that doesn't amount to a hill of beans unless you have the excellent husbandry skills, vision, and attitude that the Salazars have. I had kept a few bearded dragons years ago that I "ended up with" while working at a pet store. I prided myself with being able to beef 'em up when they were ill, and for being able to help customers with their concerns and questions. Only after meeting Tere did I realize just how much more there is to providing the best care possible for a dragon.

Now, aside from the amazing animals and great support, advice and honesty that I've received from Tere and John, I've also been impressed by their common sensical and realistic opinions on all aspects of keeping and breeding dragons. Paralleled with that is their humble nature. I've never heard Tere or John boast about their wonderful ethics, their superior husbandry skills, nor their wisdom and experience. They don't need to. Their dragons speak for themselves.

Two of the dragons that I have received from Tere and John were their babies from this year. I've never seen babies so chubby and alert at that age. Packaging and shipping have always been perfect, and each baby came with a nifty "birth certificate" that has the descriptions of both parents, d.o.b. of the baby, their policies, etc. This is especially welcomed and appreciated by people like me who have a tendency to lose emails and scratch paper that I scribble on while on the phone! :hehe:

Isn't that how you're supposed to do it? Speaking of which, I've got some mighty hungry 7" tubbos right about now! :eatsmiley

I have my first pair of dragons now thanks to Tere's "encouragement"......and she has been wonderful helping me out with all of my "dumb" questions, given me an amazing amount of advice, and even shared in my complete excitement when my first clutch of eggs came along!

It can't be said enough that we need a lot more people like these guys around!

Babies, Babies, Babies

Well, Cat...all I need is your shipping address! How is Cali doing? And I'll assume her eggs are just fine. And please, please, please don't ever say that your questions are stupid. I had to ask those same questions of someone too! We are all first timers at something! And for you, my dear, I will gladly answer any question...you know that! I'm just glad Flash is happy with his woman! :dgrin: And yes, I'm EVIL!!!!!

And David...Apollo is doing absolutely wonderful. He's finally back to himself, weight and personality. And of course, I couldn't be happier. Apollo should be a Daddy in about 2 weeks when his first clutch hatches. His wife, Lizzie, laid 3 clutches, the last one 2 days ago. I am SUCH a proud Grandma!!!

I'm glad that I finally found the right home for Rusty. He is such a beautiful boy with an amazing attitude! Nothing can deter that boy from something he wants! Is he still a chunky monkey? I can't wait to see pictures, and I can't wait until he makes some babies for you....okay, some babies for us! :raspberry
 
I just got my first baby from Tere and John.....he's wonderful! SO fat, healthy and active.....and cute as all heck! The packing job was perfect, and the "birth certificate" that they sent with him was so neat!!!

Thanks again Tere!! He's a real gem!

Now what makes this post relevant to BOI on her thread which it will be posted on.

Shortly after the babies from Vickie arrived I sold 1 to Jim O. He was told in a phone call that were bred by Vicki and he was looking to get a male and a female and asked me which ones I recommended. I told him that for males I had a couple really nice ones but for females I suggest that he get together with Vickie and get a nice one from her. The ones I had were nice but I thought that he would be better off getting something nicer from her directly. Now, if I was scamming people and doing all I could to get money would I have turned down a sale??? No, I would have sold him a mediocre female and pocketed the money. Also, as far as shipping I told him shipping FedEx overnight would be $15.00 Since the base had an account with Fed Ex and there was a large discount. It costs less than $10.00 (average about $9.50) for Tere to ship an overnight package anywhere in the lower 48 states. So I charged him $10.00 for shipping and $5.00 for supplies. The actual cost to ship. Now another point I would like to make is that the community center where you go to ship via Fed Ex puts no indication of actual cost on the boxes you ship. I could have charged Jim $50.00 + for shipping and since thats average cost for overnight he would have never known and I would have pocketed an extra $35.00 for doing nothing. More proof that I was not out to scam money out of everyone I encounter........ However, I know Tere has accepted that "extra" money made on shipping. Just take a look at her website."Shipping is a flat rate of $45.00. Shipping charge is calculated by the box, not the number of animals purchased. Please note that shipping charges are NON-REFUNDABLE" In her terms it clearly states a flat rate of $45.00. She makes an extra $30.00 on every box shipped. Ethical??? Morally correct??? Something that the "Beardie Mommy of the Year" would do??? You be the judge..... I do know one thing though. At the time I stayed with her she was not Fed Ex certified and had no intentions of being certified. If she was, she would have to disclose what she was shipping. It's not legal to have reptiles on the base to begin with and the base certainly wouldn't allow reptiles to be shipped off base using the bases account.
 
Mike, you and I live in a free country thanks to families like the Salazars. I can't even imagine the restrictions they encounter with being a military family, so if they get a discount on shipping because they live on base, I'd say they deserve it. Besides, $45 is still a reasonable shipping cost that I think most people would expect to pay for for receiving an animal. Also, I highly doubt that the Salazars are the only military family with reptiles in their homes. That's a pretty pathetic low-blow if you ask me.
 
Having lived on base myself, having been part of the Military, I surely understand the hardships that go along with it.

However, I must agree that it is not very morally correct to charge $45 for SHIPPING when the actual cost of shipping is only $10.

Shipping is not something one should make a PROFIT off...and to overcharge so grossly on shipping is just not right. Again, the buyer pays that part of payment towards the SHIPPING COST.

Sure, anyone can set their own price, and if the buyer is willing to pay for it, so be it.

Btw...abusing the privilidges of " on base " like this, is precisely why those privilidges disappear eventually. It's simply wrong on more then one account.

Just my opinion, tho

Charging $45 for shipping was MIKE'S SUGGESTION, and it has NOT been used.

I felt that YOUR SUGGESTION to pocket the extra money was dishonest, so I didn't do it. The only babies that have been sold since then were wholesale and the shipping prepaid by the buyer. I would have to sell a baby to make the money, Mike...and you know good and well that hasn't been done."
 
I just can't believe that such a positive thread was dragged up and ruined because of this...mike all you had to do was come in and provide a link to the other thread.

Ok people... this is just sad.
Tere and John Salazar in my opinion are and still remains "Good Guys". Mike, I don't know you but based on what "you've" written in both threads I don't think I want to. Attacking people on Christmas day?.....Please.....

I met Tere and John thru Fauna last Spring. I know it's hard to get to know people that you only meet on the internet but in my dealings with them and how they have treated others I have nothing but respect for them.
Moving into someone else's home is always stressful for both party's. Let it go and move on. Bringing this up AGAIN is only hurting your self.
