    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My name is Cliff, and I live in Los Angeles, California. I’m a snake guy who got into the hobby after being asked by a friend to pet-sit his python for a short time. Almost three years later, that snake -- a now eight-and-a-half-foot African Rock -- is still with me. From there, I got into Brazilian Rainbows. I currently host 21 animals, each and every one of them a wonderful snake. Most were purchased as babies from different breeders throughout the country, but this year I also added a few select adults to round out my stock. My oldest animals, Drake and Topaz, are from September 2007, and should be ready to breed this year. My youngest, Prometheus and Pyrope, are from September 2009. I’m eyeballing three to five more this year, which will pretty much bring me up to capacity for the space I have available. I can certainly post pictures of the collection if people are interested….

In addition to raising and breeding snakes, I’m active in my local herp society, where I currently serve as legislative chair; and am a US ARK member, having donated both funds and time to help the cause.

So who else out there owns rainbows, or any other Epicrates for that matter, and what do you have?

I have one BRB, a male, whom i absolutely love! Great temperament, beautiful color, just an all around great snake! Also have a BP, GBK, Paradox Albino Sand Boa and 4 of her offspring.

Welcome to Fauna, What I believe to be the most wonderful, resourceful site in the reptile hobby and home to the most wonderful people you could ever imagine!

I currently don't house any epicrates but I do love them and plan to add them in the hopefully near future. I do however currently house 2.5 ball pythons, 0.1 central america boa PH blood, 1.2 cornsnakes, 2.2 bearded dragons, 1 gold tegu, 1 crested gecko, 1 gargoyle geckos, 1.2 leopard geckos and thats it for now but Im slowly rebuilding my collection since having to downsize by about 75% about 2 years ago.

Why thank you, Jeffrey! I'm active on a few other forums (the biggest of which is probably Kingsnake), but this looks like a great place to hang out!

They are amazing animals. I've just spent half my day cleaning, handling, and picture-taking, and it never gets old. (Well, except for the poop part!) If you ever do want to pick one up, let me know. While I will not have babies of my own for another year or so, I do know and have bought from many of the Tier 1 names in the Brazilian area, and happy to refer you.

I love how you can list over 20 reptiles covering eight species, and be sad that's "all" and a 75% downgrade. Reptile people rock! So what forced you to downsize? :-( Any particular target for your next pickup?

By the way, are you a member of the SWHS (the local LA herp society)? If not, you should check out one of their meetings! I think the next one is this coming Wednesday in Van Nuys.

I was forced to downsize when my fiancee lost her job and funds got tight, then right after she found a new job I was laid off from mine so we had to move from a near 3000 sqft 3 level townhome into an 800 sqft apartment. At that point I was a huge Boa junkie and had well over 100 and my fiancee loved corns and cresties and had roughly 40 of each though I was the one that cared for them so most of the boas and corns went and I got board with the cresties after awhile when my fiancee totally lost interest in reptiles all together (she'd rather be face deep in a book anymore, Lol!). As for my next pickup, that will have to be a couple adult het pied female balls or 1 adult female pied to pair with my male cinnamon het pied. Im also dying to get a pair of Mussuranas and a pair of black phase eastern indigos and of course I really want a smokin pair of high red/orange BRB's which will most likely come first over the mussuranas & indigos.

I hope you come to love and enjoy this site as I do.

His name is Pedro, named for Pedro Martinez, who was pitching for The Boston Red Sox at the tine i got him( Yes, i am a sports nut, lol) He is 9 years old, and he was the second snake i picked up.

My first snake i got was my Ball Python, then the BRB, then the GBK, which i inherited from my dad, and then my dad's friend gave me my female Paradox Albino Sand Boa, who was gravid, and i got absolutely beautiful babies from her=)

Indigos are my eventual wish list, too! Hmm, Mussuranas, that could be challenging from a feeding perspective. Are they hard to wean off snakes?

Why Pedro is a very good-looking guy! Nice dorsal and crescent colors! Out of curiosity, was this shot taken at night? (I notice he's showing his whitewalls.)

LOL, nice having someone else do all the breeding work for you and handing you the gravid female! How old are the babies?
 
I have never personally kept mussuaranas my self, I do know 2 people that have had them previously and I was told they are very aggressive feeders and readily switch to rodents.
