the Real story

first i want to say that i am greg vanzweden's sister. the only reason i am posting is because i am directly involved with this incident. ultimately i paid for these items out of my paypal account and they were shipped to my home. it took over 2 weeks for these items to arrive which i think is too long. the flex watt arrived and a pink usps slip saying they needed another $1.80. at first i thought it was just for the box that already arrived as i didnt know at that time that the items were sent in 2 boxes. i work long hours and i couldnt get to the post office for a few days and i ending up having to leave work early to pay the extra shipping so i could get the remaining box. it was not that the $1.80 was a big deal, it was my time. i was in line at the post office for 30 minutes when i should have been at work plus the drive time so 45 minutes. i do know that my brother had been doing business with mgrreptiles for 2 years or so. i think he was just fed up. also when my brother first received the first flex watt it was cut down small and we both thought it would come into a roll not cut to 12inch pieces. i told greg to contact mgrreptiles so he could get it longer and greg had to pay a restocking fee of i think 25% which i thought was extreme- i deal with big companies at work and they will charge a 15% restocking fee on special order items only, not instock items. my brother might not have the best spelling or grammer but many people dont (myself included). my brother lives with his ex-wife (who he is reconciling with and is now his girlfriend) and his daughter and thats as jerry springer as it gets. i wanted you all to know that i was the buyer ultimately- i paid for the items, they were sent to my home and in my name, not my brothers. well thats the story. i feel that it took too long for the items to arrive and the wrong postage just made it a real big hassle and not a big hit with my pocketbook or my boss. i hope you all have a nice day and remember there are usually many sides to one story.

It seems your brother didn’t share with you the e-mail exchange he had with Matt. If not you would have known that the shipment was being sent in two boxes as stated by the e-mail in the quote. That message was sent the day before the boxes were due to arrive. It’s unfortunate that you had to wait for them but that fact was communicated to Greg before the boxes arrived.

the first package arrived before the email that you posted. i had my brother ask matt if there was two boxes and what you posted was the reply to that email. mgrreptiles did send a usps confirmation link thru paypal and since it only had one number i assumed at that point it was one box and not two. i wanted everyone to know the other side to this story. my brother is not a bad guy as he seems to have been made out to be here. besides he wasnt actually the purchaser, i was.

I too am sorry about the trouble you had picking up the packages, but if you read the entire story of what Matt went through, there is a lot more to it than just the 2 packages that you speak of. Have you read the entire email exchange between he and Matt? That would explain the delay in the items arriving to begin with.

It also stated right on his website that the large Flexwatt you or he or whomever ordered was NOT a normal "stock" item. I work for one of the world's largest suppliers of MRO items, and it is NOT unusual to pay a 25% or higher restocking fee on items returned.

That said, Matt has ALWAYS has my orders shipped out in a very speedy and professional manner.

Well I was going to let this die out but since there seems to be a 93rd side to the story and a 116th person in the family I will post what I have recently received. Once again my words will be in bold. Also the reason it was shipped in 2 boxes was I didn't have a large enough box for the 24" flex and the ranco with strip. Now if you look in your paypal account both were shipped on the same day. Your order did take some to ship as I was waiting for the echeck to to clear from Greg and it didn't also I had to wait for the return from Greg before shipping so all in all Greg's order took 7 days to process and ship.. Every email and I mean every email was posted in the first post in this thread. There is no underlying conspericy, no he said she said, it is cut and dry... Also why doesnt Greg post here on his own behalf instead of having his sister do it for him? Or maybe you are Greg, from what I have sene in the emails I dont know who is who..

If you’re going to make an accusation, back it up! Matt has been polite and professional. If you have emails to the contrary, post them! I happen to believe you will have a hard time doing this.

i paid on jan 15 thru paypal (not an echeck but directly from my bank account), items were sent on the 30th. i wanted to point out that there are several sides to a story, both you and greg (and probably me since i was the one who paid) should have worked out any problems directly with each other. i am not greg, i am kathryn. i posted because only one person involved could post for free on this forum and as i paid for the items i felt it should be me. i have seen the emails at my brothers home and i dont think either matt or my brother was always polite. as far as posting the emails here, i will say something to my brother since he has direct access to them but i doubt he will waste his time and energy, if any of you want to contact my brother directly and have him forward the emails to you i am sure he will do that. his email is: [email protected]

Kathy, this first paragraph by Matt explains why it took two weeks for the supplies to get to Greg. Having to wait for a check to clear(many people and companies have a 10 day waiting period) and the time it takes from the post office to your house would easily take up the entire 2 weeks.
