    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So Greg wrote the following in an email to East Bay Vivarium:

"I dont think you understand; I am a wholesale animal breeder with CITIES 1 permits and a valid resale number."

But he doesn't sell snakes?!?!?!?!?!

So, to whom were you lying Mr. Bowman? To Celia Chien, trying to get that "big name" discount? Or to us, trying to get that "I'm in it only for the animals" credibility factor?

What an ego! I must say, I am impressed with that ego! By the way, you don't have a long lost brother in Arizona somewhere, do you????

Bowman sounds like someone else I know!

I have no idea if Greg Bowman is this guys real name or not. I am just going to say that his writing style, his temper tantrums, and he "big claims" sure do sound alot like someone I have dealt with in the past.

Damon Heynan a.k.a Brian Smith (along with about 30 other alias that he has used). Damon also lives in California. He makes a lot of the exact same claims. He has also be banned from many different forums.

Like I said, I don't know if it is the same person, but I do think it is a possibility. I will email the admin of another forum I frequent and see if the name Greg Bowman has ever been used and banned there.

I am "sorta" impressed by people who put their companies name on everything.

But I am more impressed by people who DO NOT know their companies name !!!!!!

In this one thread.....I have seen his companies name change at least six times. and that was only reading through five pages....(front and rear) I am to tired to even look through the middle.

I think it is so funny, we have yet another person that can get their way, and wants to threaten others to try and strongarm them into doing what they want. Gregory, you have now shown to us all that you are a person to stay away from. You have shown no proof for any of your allegations, and have PROVEN to me that you are a pitiful person that can not accept you are not some big breeder who deserves any preferential treatment. You have also proved that you are a liar by stating on here that you do not sell snakes, but in the e-mail to EBV you stated that you are a wholesale buyer, and have a resale number. You also stated that you have C.I.T.E.S. permits. What do you have and need C.I.T.E.S. permits for? No one needs C.I.T.E.S. permits unless they are exporting animals (selling) or importing animals. You have shown you are the BAD GUY in these threads. If you are so knowledgeable on animals then how is it that you were not aware the requirement for the CBW permit on the Python Molurus?? Again I will repeat I would suggest you go worry about covering you own rear as you are soon to be contaced by USF&W.
 
Well, if anyone had any doubts that this guy is psychotic, the emails from East Bay pretty much answered them.

He's certifiable alright. A typical response now that he has been "outed" is to claim he was just kidding (which he already has), to claim that he has found god and has repented, to blame it on drugs, or the lack of them, etc.

He will deflect responsibility - will refuse to take responsibility for his actions. People like this are labeled insane for a reason.

You were just kidding right? Just an experiment right? Led us all around by the nose didn't you?

I've forwarded all your messages to a friend that teaches Abnormal Psychology, she has found them instructive and plans to incorporate them into her class. She also has a prediction about your future behavior - so please don't stop now!

If you do a search here on the BOI for Gregory Bowman you will find all of his post he has made on Fauna. There are quite a few stating that he purchased alot of animals from different folks and even in one post where he is looking for animals he states that Neil and another person named Jason Gonzalez have been blacklisted by him. It seems like he is doing an awful lot of purchsing for someone that does not sell? hmmmmm coinkidink? I think not!

I am curious about one thing though. While it appears that Gregory has lost his mind regarding the issue with Neil, I have to wonder why the majority of people are glossing over the fact that Steve apparantely broke several laws shipping the snake in question.
I have witnessed many times on this board people being treated like complete boobs when they knowingly or unknowingly shipped reptiles illegally. I would hope that just because Steve is known somewhat well in the hobby that he isn't above reproach or reprimand from the same people who see fit to criticize other less known people.
This post is in no way meant to detract from Gregorys' obvious self destruction yet I am curious to see where the line is drawn regarding sweeping illegal issues "under the rug"

You raise a good point. Personally, I accept no excuses whatsoever from someone who ships illegally. However, to my knowledge, Steve has offered none. He has simply said that he was wrong, didn't know any better, but would never do it again. I can't really fault someone for an attitude like that.

I would make ABSOLUTELY sure that Steve was shipping legally if I ever entered a deal with him, but after he had proven himself to have been "reformed" on the issue, I would let it go. I just don't see why we would bash someone for what they "used to do" rather than what they "are doing."

Maybe I've missed something along the way here, but that's how I see it. What do you think?

You raised a few very good points.
However my reason for posting was because not to long ago there was a post(I apologize I can't remember the title) where a young fellow shipped illegally and one or more people stated rather angrily that they should be turned in to the authorities(even though the shipper or seller were unaware what they had done was illegal).

I agree anyone that ships snakes through the USPS needs to be shot. They need to be turned into the Authorities as it is illegal and if they say they don't know it is illegal then they have never read the rules PERIOD. IN this case the person addmited that they did not know, and are sorry. I think if they learn from it and NEVER do it again then they can slide once. But if it happens again they need to be crucified.

What was the shipping illegality here? I thought the only illegal shipping done was the fact of sending the snake through USPS, and that the permit issue was a moot point, or at least still in need of further research?

The USPS thing should not be repeated. I personally find it hard to believe anyone in the herp business would not know that it's illegal to ship snakes via USPS, but it has been pointed out, and the usual penalty for a first time offense isn't exactly a harsh one according to an earlier post. So, although it's technically a federal offense, it's not exactly anything to make a federal case out of.

In any event, if the buyer is so knowledgable, why did he agree to let the seller ship the snake via USPS? I don't claim half of the BS of a background that Gregory does, but even I know that. And I certainly verify every detail of a shipment, including the carrier prior to buying online. That's two points of common sense that Gregory has missed.

Here's what I see wrong with Steve and Neil's sides of the transactions:

Somebody (I think Steve?) shipped through the mail. That was wrong. Apparently, it wasn't denied, and it probably won't happen again. Problem solved.

Neil shipped an animal shortly after feeding it. That was wrong. Neil has admitted this, and has stated he won't do it again. Problem solved.

Somebody shipped an animal that may or may not require a permit to ship. As far as I know, that's still being researched, but it seems likely no permit was required. Not a problem yet.

Gregory has made a whole lot of wild allegations, cast unsupported aspersions on people's characters in a malicious manner (pretty much libel or treading very closely to it), made contradictory statements about his own background and nature of his business, threatened legal action in an attempt to get his way (which is illegal, btw), tried to bully a highly reputable store into a 50% discount in a manner treating them as if they had a snake in need of rescue (been their place many times, and I assure you that's NOT the case), and has generally been acting out in a manner that's not acceptable in polite company.

Now, is it any wonder most of the conversation has been focused on Gregory?
 
OK, Steve's post went up while I was typing. Problem solved on that account.

The only one left needing to account for his actions here seems to be Gregory.
