Well, went to make some small cuts in a clutch today that will be hatching in a little while. After cutting them I noticed an egg on another clutch looked rather strange. I went and touched it and the dang thing burst! Needless to say, after realizing bandaids are not going to fix it I resorted to pulling it off and it is now on paper towels (last season I had an incubator issue and cut a clutch on day 62, when it turned out they still had like another month to go, so, I have some experience having to deal with the egg on paper towel thing). However, This is a pretty big burst in the side and while pulling it off another egg started leaking through the bottom. I know exactly what I did wrong as far as the humidity. It has been high this whole season however Ive made a point checking on the eggs every other day and wiping the top of the container off. However, with the move, that has not been happening, so, thus, silly avoidable things like this happen. I bandaided the other egg, however, not completely sure if that will help or last. Lowering the humidity is an obvious fix, any further ideas on how to deal with the burst eggs though?
