    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Happy Leapords!

I recently found this site and found out there is a crap load of stuff out there I never knew. All through highschool I worked as the "reptile guy" at this local exotic pet shop and thought I knew it all.
Take my 2 female leapord geckos for instance. They have to be 10 years old by now. One is a plain leapord gecko I got from the shop and the other I got at a reptile show. No idea what "morph" it is but I call it tangerine since shes orange. She used to have no spots in the middle and had a bright orange tail but it faded and spots filled in.

You can see below pics of my past and present setup. Before I came here I had them on crushed walnut shells with 1 dry hide and no calcium dish. Every week I would get 2 dozen crickets and throw them in without gutload. Just a sprinkle of this other supplement. (Short fat white round container with a pink label)They would run around in the cage all week until they died or were eaten.

Now I have repticarpet to keep things dust free and clean. I have some moss in a salad container I turned into a damp hide. I just changed the cage up this week and finally caught them using the damp hide. I didnt think they could climb ontop of it but they can and like to chill up there. I have a calcium dish now with that indoor mineral supplement and I have been feeding big juicy silkworms on a daily basis. No more left over crickets running amuck in the cage.
They seem to be plump and happy now. The orange female was always on the skinny side but her tail is finally fattening up now. I feed them seperately now so I can make sure they get an equal share and prevent fighting over the same cricket that happens to run by. Life is good in leapord gecko country.

*Also in the pics is my bearded dragon that went to a new home and my new setup with my uromastx. You can see the philbyi male basking away.

And I have to say it makes shedding a lot quicker. Normally it takes a day or two to shed their body then the skin hangs on the toes for a week. One of the girls just shed (probably because they are so fat from the silkworms) and she was done in a matter of hours!

What kind of cages do you have the Uromastyx in? I really love the look of those, and you have a lovely setup! When I finally move out and get a bigger place getting cages like that are near the top of my things to do. ;-)

They are showcase cages. Probably a little more money than your typical cage but well worth it. These are in my living room so I wanted something that looked good. They hold heat really well and I like the front sliding doors. The ones I have now are 48". The only bad thing I can pick out is any loose substrate will get in the tracks and needs to be vacuumed. My Uros like to glass dance so they kick a lot of stuff into the track. But I would guess that happens with any front glass cage.
