    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I understand what you are saying, but not everyone is a "businessman", nor do I believe that Emily thought she had any reason to doubt what she was told by her vet. I honestly don't believe that Emily had anything but honorable intentions here and thought she was doing the right thing. I could be wrong.....but I don't believe I am.

While I believe that it is very likely that these animals came to her loaded with parasites, there is no way to prove that beyond a doubt. 10 months IS a long time, and if they were my snakes, I would have had them tested long ago, as soon as it became evident that they were eating but not gaining weight. But of course, as has been said before, hindsight is always 20/20....and not everyone is as knowledgeable as some.

From a "business" standpoint, Ed probably has no black and white obligations here. But one would hope that he would at least be a man and do more than blow off her concerns and ignore her questions.

I agree, Cathy, but there are so many people here that would disembowel him, no matter what he said, I can almost see where he's coming from.

That is not the way I would have handled it, but hey, we're all different.

This isn't about mr. clark's handling of this problem entirely.

It's about the possible misrepresentation of snakes he traded.

It's about his total lack of willingness or inability to verify that the snakes Emily has are indeed the captive born and bred future holdbacks produced by his own females, the cleanest animals out there or imports.

Don't you guys see the signifigance here? We'll have a better idea tomorrow whether or not mr. clark ripped this poor girl off or not.

Yearllings as small as the ones she got should have triggered a warning bell. But mr. clark is a smooth talker and at the time of the trade even I was a fan of his. It's entirely possible that a simple case of greed has now caught up with mr. clark.

IF the other two snakes also turn up positive for parasites as did the first and IF the rest of Emily's snakes don't, I'd take long odds on mr. clark selling her imports as captive born and bred.

THAT is what has me bugged about this. It's NOT his responsibility that they have parasites 10 months later IF, and ONLY if, they were what he said they were when the trade was made. If they actually were imports, then he's a total scumbag as well as a generally dislikable guy.

We'll know tomorrow.

Since Emily did not ask for ANYTHING other than verification of origins, why are so many of you harping on her for bringing this here? mr. clark blew her off. He promised to find out whether or not he lied to her and then disappeared. When this happens to other miscreants, it's out with the nails and hammers and large wooden edifices. Why should it be different for mr. clark?

WHY should it be different for him?

I think this has been beaten to death already.

The only things that will be relevant going forward are

1. Did Ed send her CBB or imports
2. What are the results of the other snakes Emily is having tested
3. Should Ed test his snakes to err on the side of caution.

At this point, I think it is only circumstantial evidence against Ed and the parasites could have not come from him but rather from Emily's care.

After the long period of time, no matter how circumstantial the evidence may appear, it really cannot be pinned down as Eds fault with certainty.

Really, the only thing I am curious to find out now would be the origin of the snakes. Are they CBB holdbacks future breeders or imported animals?

That is really the only thing I think Ed can address with certainty and should be held accountable for. Too much time has passed since the snakes left him to trace the parasites back to him but the origins of the snakes would not change no matter how long since he traded them.

Seeing as you and many others just can not get your mind around this aspect I will type it real obvious, THIS IS NOT ABOUT PLACING BLAME. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PLACING BLAME.

Is that clear now? Is there any confusion about that what so ever now?

Parasites are never about placing blame unless people are intentionally selling infected animals and not being up front about it. Parasites are all about just trying to prevent its spread.

If people are more concerned with placing blame, money and hurting reputations than being concerned about the well being of the animals themselves then maybe they need to get out of herps and into pet rocks.
