• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello. My name is WebSlave and I am a Kingsnake.com abuser.

David, I guess you have been away for a while, but everything you describe about getting multiple warnings for the same offense is exactly how Rich set things up to be under The New Deal.

Whether you like it or not, find it just or not, fair or not, I think I can safely say for Rich, that he dont care. That these are the rules of the site now. For better or worse until connection problems do us part.

Exactly. However, if approx. 40 law enforcement officers were to cite you in your community for a single and same driving offense, you would be more than a little indignant and shouting "foul" at every opportunity. Not to mention that no judge in the US would allow it to stand (not to mention members of the law enforcement community wouldn't allow such a gross miscarriage of justice to be perpetrated on ANY violator of a crime.) It is this singular issue that seems to present a problem here on fauna as too many people are able to issue warning points with what appears to be minimal (if any) oversight. My offense was a singular "PROFANITY" and had been addressed just like a single offense of speeding or failure to wear a seatbelt would be addressed by a law enforcement officer. However, regardless of the fact that my initial defense of my words failed and I accepted the points and was unable to alter the post, I keep getting dinged. This thread seems to be getting a bit of traffic now and if nothing else perhaps it is useful to other fauna members, who haven't been named moderators or paid their dues which give them the inherant privelage to give warning points, to learn exactly what is and what is not.

There was a time when an apology meant something. Do I have a personal dislike for JB @ ks.com? Yes. Did I state it strongly and perhaps inappropriately in my posting? Yes. While I can not apologize for personal feelings, I do apologize for the strong wording which has been viewed as profanity by more than one individual (and these were tempered words used in expressing my opinion at the time they were written.) Yes, for those words and phrases, I apologize.

David
(still wondering how many others of the possible approx. 40 are still going to ding me with more points)

As I explained in a PM that you have apparently chosen to ignore, you have yet to be punished.

Warning points are exactly that: Warnings. The punishment, once you've received enough warnings, is suspension.

Yes, any of the 40 or so mods can give you warning points for the same infraction. The more severe the infraction, the more mods who are going to give you points for it. If you choose to continue the unacceptable behavior, you will continue to receive warning points. Eventually, if you persist, you will be suspended.

I found the language in your post offensive, I gave you warning points.

Stop whining and deal with it. You have 292 more points to go.

I could not have said it better. The more you complain about it the more other mods will see your offensive post and consider dinging you for it.

*This not-so-subtle hint brought to you on behalf of the 40-odd of us who want this site to be successful*

Seamus,
Thank you.

... Don't thank me. I was answering Kelli's question- for her and anyone else unfamiliar with the acronym so that they could see exactly how inappropriate your post was.

I am obviously not a fan of a number of decisions that have been made about Kingsnake and, when those decisions happened, I have occassionally added a comment here or there. However you'll notice that I have not gotten involved in your recent insane tirades about a fairly minor decision. The only legitimate complaints I have seen were those from users who were a bit annoyed at having to relist ads when notification got lost someplace in the vast reaches of this interweb doohickey. Then there were a couple crazies, like yourself who took it to a completely different level and refuse to just shut your ignorant piehole about it.

World of difference between the issues people have had with kingsnake in the past and the one you seem to be having now. There's also a world of difference between someone saying they disagree with or dislike a decision or an action, or questining the judgement and wisdom behind one... and suggesting that it would be a positive thing if a site owner were to "die in a fire." I'm honestly not sure if you can understand the difference... which makes you a very, very stupid person.

That hint has been dropped twice ... hopefully it gets picked up.
