In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey, Chris (JCCS), does this answer your question?

The male unwrapped when I disturbed them (while I was getting the camera), but he wasn't so shy before I walked in.....

Hmmm - That's unusual. Molly NEVER refuses food.......
<utters a silent prayer to the boa gods> then

hmmmph...at least I got a drink out of the deal.
I left the rat in with her...an hour later it was still there. Two hours later, it isn't.
Still highly unusual for her, but :shrug01:

some females will refuse food when gravid (or be more picky and lazy about it than what is normal for them, ex a boa that normally grabs and coils that f/t rat when gravid may only want to eat it nice and slow with no coil when it's left in the tank overnight)

BTW - that is one good looking pairing!

Thanks, April.
Molly is the super aggressive, snatch it off the tongs (or in mid air, if I toss it to her, lol) type*...so it was pretty unusual for her not to take it when offered. Leaving it for over an hour - can't say, I honestly can't remember a time that she didn't TAKE her food (including when she is in shed). She looks promising, but I've been fooled before. I took a couple pics before feeding - will probably upload them tomorrow.

a week later.....

Here are those pics I mentioned...again, these are pre feeding shots. (she shed approx 3 weeks ago). She's definitely filling out a bit

Figured I'd post a couple of other images in this thread, as well. I've put these two together before, and they did absolutely nothing. Guess the time, or the mood, was finally right. (Apparently, they've learned a lesson from all the celebrity videos...as soon as there was a camera in view, they would separate; so I just left them to their activities)

This pairing was a combination of convenience, and thoughts of my history with boas in general. Given a variety of factors, I don't want to produce too many babies this year; but I'm one of those people that has had spotty, random luck with breeding members of the Boa family. With the exception of dumerils (and they almost don't even count as boas...they aren't even from the right part of the world), any successes I have had have been surrounded by multiple failures. I had pretty much opted out of this pairing because the albino does look promising, and two motley litters is probably a poor choice for me; BUT, just for giggles, I put her in with him while I was cleaning her cage. I'm pretty sure he had progressed beyond courtship, but she started moving when I opened the tub to bring her back. I'm not sure if I'm going to give this a chance or not

That albino is looking mighty promising!!

Good luck on the other pairings as well! Those hog isle have some terrific orange coloration going on (sweeeet).

So far I've only got 1 pair that's going, I plan to try one other. These are pairs that I had planned a while ago to get specific offspring that I want to keep. There is a 3rd pair I was going to put together but I keep going back and forth about.. is it worth it? Tough decisions.

With the exception of dumerils (and they almost don't even count as boas...they aren't even from the right part of the world)

 :D

Thanks, April. I've been waiting anxiously for the hog islands to show some interest - the female is 5 yrs old (right now, I'm trying to figure out when she got so BIG, lol).

I put the hypo back in her own cage...I'd love for this to be the year that things come together with the boas, and I have to consider that it might be. My luck, something will click, and I'll end with 150 baby boas that I can't sell.:hurray::uhh::shootfoot:willy_nil
