Bad Guy Horrible experience with snakes at sunset

I just had a terrible experience with snake at sunset. I was buying a rhino iguana for my friend 's birthday gift and her birthday is Oct.26th. I purchased the iguana on Oct. 22nd(Wednesday) and I asked them if they can show me some individual pics that I can chose from and ship the iguana out on Oct.23rd(Thursday). However since I payed the money, they NEVER reply to ANY of my e-mails or messages till now :ack2:and they dont even provide any phone numbers on their website and the reason is "Due to high call volume at our retail location, we prefer emails for questions. Please email questions to [email protected]. Emailing us is a much faster, personalized experience. " e-mailing is this the much faster,personalized experience? WTF!?:NoNo: I have sent at least 12 messages and couple e-mails to them. Now, I am asking to cancel the order and return my money since the reptile seems will never arrive on time. It has been 3 days that they still have not reply to any of my e-mails. Just horrible!!!!!!! I extremely not recommend if you want any of your question to be answered.:angry::angry::angry:
 
Let me see if I have this correct.

First, you ordered on a automated system on Wednesday (didn't specify day or night) and expected to have your emailed questions answered instantaneously like a robot. You wanted them to take individual pictures and answer your questions and have them ship the very next day, Thursday.

You wanted the animal by Saturday.

You state you sent them 12 messages and a couple of emails in a day.

First of all, most don't ship reptiles the day before the weekend. So it probably wouldn't have worked anyway.

Most ship Monday-Wednesday which is in my agreement to ship reptiles with FedEx.

Second, you ordered off a automated system then asked questions expecting someone to take pictures for you overnight at a retail store in order to send you a animal instantaneously.

You don't send money expecting a company to ship within a day without talking to someone first.

In conclusion, You ordered off a website, then sent 14 messages, demanded individual pictures and the reptile to have already been sent, and now canceled the order within 2 days of ordering.

Your a great customer.

I see a lot of problems with what you stated. Unfortunately, they are all on your end.

Your an impulsive buyer and all the problems stated here are yours.
 
@Dennis Hultman. First on their website, they state that they can ship monday--thursday. Secondly, I am angry not just because they cant send me pics. Actually I can understand that, I am angry because they NEVER reply to any of my e-mails and messages. They just ignore me for 3 days!!!! By the way, before I make the order, I did send them couple e-mails, they did not reply as well. And I dont know where you get the conclusion of all problems are on my end.

With this post going up this early on Saturday, at most you gave them two days after sending the money.

But in Reality, you really only gave this company 1 day to answer your email questions, take pictures and ship after you sent the money because they can't ship on Friday.

I sent them a notification of this thread via the email form on their website. I also requested that they reply to me.
It will be interesting to see if and when they will reply, as a recent post on another one of the threads about them here makes a point of their good communication.. I'm also monitoring my spam folder (OP did you look through your spam folder?).
 
@Dennis Hultman Also, on thursday, I send an e-mail to them about if they cannot send pics to me, they can just pick one for me. The only request is I want them to ship on thursday. No answer of this either.

Calling might not have helped...

I tried to order a couple snakes from them earlier this year (May) that were advertised on their website. I sent them an email and got an instant reply from the owner stating "Let me make sure I have a pair". A few hours later I called the store and was told that the snakes were at their warehouse and he would have someone there check for me. I called that evening before they closed the store and he told me that he hadn't had a chance to check but would get back with me tomorrow. Two days later, I sent a follow up email asking if he had a chance to check yet. I never received a reply to that email and ended up buying the snakes from someone else after waiting about 5 days. This doesn't make them "bad guys" but they sure weren't very responsive. Both phone conversations lasted about 5 seconds and they did not seem very interested in completing an easy $450 sale.
 
@gila7150 I just didnt get that what make it so difficult to just reply people's e-mail. and I dont even know if they gonna give the money back to me. I dont know if they are really the "bad guy", but I am sure they are "bad businessman"
 
I don't usually respond here but I find this post completely immature. Not immature as in the OP is immature but the post is immature as it was made too quick. Firstly, OP, it seems as Sunset DID in fact respond to you in the beginning. Secondly, there isn't hardly ANYONE who will ship on a Thursday. It is too risky. If ANYTHING happens in transit, the animal stays at the facility until MONDAY causing a much higher chance of the animal not making it alive. Let's look at this conversation you had.

Snakes at Sunset specifically told you they will ship Monday for Tuesday, which is after the time frame you say you needed the animal in. Additionally, they said they would get your pictures over the weekend. Well, this is still VERY early on Saturday and you didn't even give them the chance. No one will ship on Thursday to guarantee a live arrival. I refuse to ship on Thursday because of the health of the animal is at risk. This is unreasonable to expect someone to ship out on Thursday. Additionally, it is rare that ANYONE can ship a live animal the day payment is made. So many factors play into shipping.

The person already told you when they will send you pictures. At this point, you should of went elsewhere. I do not ever take pictures for people the second they ask me to. I can't drop my life for that. If someone wants a quality animal from a good place, they will respect that I am busy and will get back to them in a timely manner. 3 days, is still within this time frame by the way.

Once again, you already know this answer. The guy said this weekend he will take pictures. Begging for pictures right this instant will not change this. If he owns a pet store, he may not have time to take away from current customers to run and grab pictures of animals that cannot be shipped out this week anyways.

This leads me to believe that you have now officially paid for the animal when you already knew you were not getting pictures until this weekend. Not sure why you did this. Maybe, you thought it would speed the process up if you sent money? However, you were already told the day before that shipping would not happen before Monday.

It is so difficult because you have messaged him repeatedly over a 3 hour span. That is far from an adequate time for a response. Some people take a day or 2 to respond. Some people take a few days. Some people respond immediately. Everyone is different. Respect it and if it isn't the way you want it to be, go elsewhere.

10 messages in 1 day AFTER they specifically told you they will only ship on Monday. I know you wanted the animal by Sunday. I can see this. I know that you wanted them to answer you this day, I can see this. However, people cannot live around their email. I work so much myself. I put in 10-16 hours a day at work and sometimes I mean to contact someone when I get home but I forget because I have been too busy. You bombarded this person and they may not of seen any of these messages on Thursday because they did not have ample time to check their messages and respond.

I am sure they will cancel your order and give you your money back. I can't promise this as I know nothing of this place you are talking about.

The thing to remember is, this post is very early on. You didn't give them time to respond or time to rectify the situation. They specifically stated that they will ship on Monday. If you needed the animal by the day before Monday, why did you send them money afterwards? You could of searched locally at that point or let your friend know the gift will be a couple days late.

Good luck getting your money back and good luck finding the animal you want to get.

Although the seller could be more responsive, I don't see how they are at fault here. If you need an animal shipped by a certain day, check with the seller before you purchase the animal to see if they can ship it to arrive by that day. Pretty simple. As far as further communication, you sent e-mails approximately every hour, stating approximately the same thing, and expected them to respond. Although most sellers try to be as prompt as possible, when a customer sends e-mails like this, it in no way motivates the seller to respond more quickly. If they check e-mail once a day, they check it once a day. You can't assume that everyone sits by their computer waiting for your e-mails. If you truly felt the need to call, the phone number is easily available through a google search.

Although this isn't the fault of the seller, if I were in their position I would refund the money and put you on a list of people to not do business with in the future.

I am one who really appreciates great communication. Actually, I think most anyone does.
The difference is that common sense tells us that most people are busy and do not sit at the computer every second, of every day, wringing their hands, just waiting for an email to come in, so that they can reply within seconds.

Also, when contemplating getting an animal, a living being that is not local, common sense would tell us not to wait, until the last moment, to purchase & get it shipped. Even more so without talking to the seller first.

Makes me wonder, too, if your friend even had an enclosure & proper equipment, etc.
Ifnot, why, on earth, would you purchase an animal that wouldn't have a proper set up, and its needs met, as soon as it arrived? That would be extremely irresponsible, to say the least.

In the above quote, the seller stated when they could ship and send pics. Asking you if that would work. If it did not work, for you, then you could have let them know that would not work and, since you need it/them immediately, you would just have to cancel the order and request a refund. Although, it should never have gotten to this point because - (read what I wrote in my 2nd paragraph).

Shipping, on a Thursday, should never be done. Even if a seller offers to ship, on a Thursday, the buyer should not take that route if they care about the animal and realize that delays, etc., even if it were rare, can occur with any mailing/shipping co. If this were to happen, with a Thurs. shipping, the animal would wind up sitting, over the weekend, before delivery. A near certain death sentence for the animal.
Shipping should only be done Mon - Thurs.

Am not defending "Snakes at Sunset".

However, I have to say that if I were the seller, and if when I could finally check email, etc., I would have seen all these "back to back" messages, especially with the above quoted message, you would not have had to worry about canceling your order. I would have done it, for you, without your request. Then, would refund your money and been happy to not do business with you.
My thoughts would be, if someone starts out this nightmarish, imagine what else...
