• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Alright.. I've been reading all these posts and i'm still not sure. What really is the best way to ship? And how do I go about doing it.. sorry for being nieve.. just want to get things straight :rolleyes:
Thanks,

Kylie Rae

First, get FedEx certified (if you aren't already):

  1. Sign up online for a FedEx account number.
  2. Give it 24-48 hours, call FedEx to acquire your representative's name and contact information.
  3. Contact representative, explain that you are preparing to submit a FedEx Packaging Test (see attached file) for the shipping of Live Harmless Reptiles. If they attempt to try to tell you that they do not accept reptile shipments, advice them to contact both the Live Animal Desk and the Legal Department. If they still give you problems, request a new representative. The reason why you want to notify your account representative is so they will provide the Account # to send the test package on so you do not have to pay for it.
  4. Prepare you test package just like you would if you were actually shipping a reptile (do not put a live snake/lizard/whatever in the test package). Box the test package inside another box as described in the attached PDF and send 'er on 'er way!
  5. When you receive your test package back with approval paperwork, contact your representative for the Reptile Shipping Waiver.

The process can take 2-4 weeks depending on how clueless your representative is.

Here is Clay's guide on shipping reptiles (which doesn't appear to have been updated in a long while, but it should still give you a good idea on proper shipping practices).
