My personal (not moderator) opinion is that all this crap about the auction is muddying up the more important issues. Is it really such a horrible thing if Nicole wants to auction off a baby dragon, with the proceeds to be donated to/for Chuck's family? Under the circumstances, I can sort of understand Jeff and Christina not wanting to involve themselves & this benefit with Nicole (though, if they are making the statement that they aren't endorsing any of the donors, and aren't responsible for customer satisfaction, even that choice could be questioned). Anyway, all this round and round doesn't seem to be a BOI matter. Since she has stated that the winning bid amount will be paid directly to WiseReptiles, the only real criticism I see would be if she inflated shipping cost (which has been referenced previously)...or if she failed to send the dragon to the winner.
Further, even if WiseReptiles did contact Ed for a donation - which I am inclined not to believe - is that, and all the associated nonsense, pertinent to
Nicole's BOI thread? It seems that would be an issue between Ed and them.
Now, amongst all the distractions, somebody made a post that DOES, without a doubt, belong here:
In Nicole's defense I am one of the people that posted that she had sent me a dragon from a doctored image. The image was Doctored for sure but the dragon has colored up beautifully (still looks nothing like the picture) but is healthy and beautiful.
Nicole (to her defense) sent this member a healthy and beautiful dragon, which has colored up nicely......but STILL LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURE. Maybe I've missed something - have there been complaints of Nicole's dragons not being healthy? If not, while I think it's great that this person is satisfied, that post should not lead anybody to overlook the increasingly common complaint that people are being misled by doctored images.
Nicole - going back to your recent venture of running fecal samples for people. I believe that could be construed as illegal if you are getting paid (even if it is only $5 to cover your supplies). You are, in effect, diagnosing their animals....practicing veterinary medicine without a license, if you will. The fact that you are not telling them how to treat, or dispensing meds, is a small item in your favor; but your "friend" (accomplice) seems to be covering that base. If somebody were to pursue it, you might find yourself with one hell of a headache that Tylenol won't cure.
