In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Husbandry of human offspring?

Congratulations Auntie Nick!!!!!:D:D

I'm glad Baby 1 is off support, Baby 2 shouldn't be too far behind, hopefully:thumbsup:

Big Hugs to you, your sister and your entire family on the 2 new precious additions!!!

Congrats to the family and Nick. So glad to hear the good news. You will do wonderfully either as Aunt or Uncle which ever you decide to be :)

Wow this was great it really did make me LMAO. I'm a father of 2 my self. 1yr old boy A'den & a 4yr old girl Aerika. I never thought i would see the day some one broke it down in to "herp terms" but i now have and it was JUST GREAT. good luck and great times ahead. they are a BLAST to keep, but i would reccomend a 12x12x8 inclosure minimum they tend to climb & grow at a rapid rate

Thanks Chris. Can you send me specs on these enclosures? Also...should I use Cyprus mulch, or just stick with news paper?

You're still Auntie Nicky, don't worry. :p

Thanks Tyler...I look damn good in a dress :dancer01:

Congratulations Muff Muff :p

zOMG... That means I'm "Uncle"

:D

Thank you pookie. Imagine if the first words they say is "Muff Muff" (my sister is gonna kill me).

glad number one is off support.

Whats up with all the dang twins. Its gotta be something in the water. Im gonna quit drinking it and stick with Mt. Dew.

Thanks Kevin. You can drink all the Mt. Dew that you want...but, since Christina has been drinking water...I think your beverage choice is now irrelevant :D

AUNTIE NIIIIIIICKK!!!! Congrats sweetie!!! How is your sister doing?? You best keep them photos coming!!

*BIG HUGS FOR YOU AND YOUR SISTER*

Thanks Brandi. My sister is doing great (WSHOOOOOOO). *by the way...she loves the jewelry that you made for her...thanks for that!*

Congrats!!

As an Auntie, you only need to spoil them rotten. Leave the hard stuff up to their parents.

Thanks Melinda. For a while I was seeing if I could somehow stimulate myself to lactate...but like you said, I decided to leave the hard stuff to the parents.

Congratulations Auntie Nick!!!!!:D:D

I'm glad Baby 1 is off support, Baby 2 shouldn't be too far behind, hopefully:thumbsup:

Big Hugs to you, your sister and your entire family on the 2 new precious additions!!!

Thanks Christina. (psssst...I am expecting to see pics of your little ones soon ;))

Dang Nick, even weighed em out in laymens terms and not pounds. Congrats on the addition to the brood. Good luck and god speed.

Thank you kind sir!

Congrats to the family and Nick. So glad to hear the good news. You will do wonderfully either as Aunt or Uncle which ever you decide to be :)

Thanks Kathy. Actually, I was hoping to be both an aunt and and uncle (I was expecting a boy & a girl). :shrug01:

Thanks guys...I appreciate all the kind words. I'll post more info/pics as it comes in!

Darn it...now I have to get a whole new wardrobe :mah:

/coffeenosefountain

Thanks for the visual..

Big congratzes. I had to do a double take - two babies?!

With the technology we've got today, they should be just fine even though early. The best part is, no one got time to get all anxious about them coming.

Thanks Shadiiiiiii. Yup, two babies. My sister had some problems a few weeks back, to the point where she had to be temporarily hospitalized. So yea...had they been able to get through to me during the early delivery...I would have had a heart attack . SO...all-in-all...things worked out.

About my wardrobe...you're just mad cause you'll no longer be able to borrow my skirts :raspberry

I MISSED this!

Congrats Nick! You have been given good advice :)

*Make sure the new wardrobe is cotton, it's much easier to clean.

Thanks Deb. But, I've been defiled by pretty much any herp you can think of...so some human offspring mess should be a walk in the park (I hope :ack2:).

Thanks Christina. (psssst...I am expecting to see pics of your little ones soon ;))

Psssssst, Nick, their hatching date is still approximately 5 months away, unless they surprise me like your sisters did to her:D

The pics will be up as soon as they are out of the eggs!:rofl::rofl:

Well, time flies...5 months might as well be tomorrow :).

If you want, PM me your E-mail address and I'll establish a line of communication between you and my sister. She just went through what you're still going through. She might be able to give you some pointers or answer any questions you may have :shrug01:

OMG, so cute!! but poor little one has a bruise from the blood test. awwwwww

I look damn good in a dress

um, your slip is showing...... no wait....THAT'S not a slip....my eyes, my eyes!!

In the future, might I suggest a Brazilian wax. hee hee

Good to hear they are doing good, but i wouldn't use cypress (they tend to put everything and anything in their mouths) & i dont think you want one getting impacted... I would just you a large rubber mat, so you can hose it off out side every day. lol

such cute li'l foot pads....lol I<3 this thread

 Sorry...it was a big day...I didn't have time to carefully look myself over in front of the mirror.

True...Cypress does have toxicity. Now, what would you recommend I use as far as preventative measures (mites & lice)? Without rehashing the whole Black Night vs Provent-a-mite debate...which would you recommend?

OK...THE NAMES ARE IN...

Baby 1: Zoe Amalia Walter - Zoe means Life and Amalia means industrious - this little one fought hard and was impatient to start life.

Baby 2: Luna Ayana Walter - Luna or moon because when she cries and we sing our moon lullaby to her, she calms down immediately. Ayana or beautiful flower - she's the more delicate, calm twin who has yet to catch up to her big sister's development, but is steadily on her way.

I've always been partial to Nichole & Nikita...but...whatever :(

Why do they have to make things complicated?!? Wouldn't it have been simpler had they identified the offspring as...

0.1 het Attached Earlobe / Freckled / Brown Eye DH for Blue/Green eye / het Dimples / poss het albino

0.1 Attached Earlobe / het Freckled / Brown Eye DH for Blue/Green eye / Dimpled / poss het albino

Since they're so pale and have clear nails...I'd say that both are also Marketed Leucistics (BUT I will not market them as such). I am, however, throwing in the "poss het albino" as a selling point (shhhhhhhhhh ;)).

Baby 2:

They actually named them (for the time being) Baby # 1 and Baby # 2. They were due sometime in Sept...so my sister & brother-in-law were caught off-guard when they popped out early.

Everyone is OK ...I only found out just now that I'm an auntie (they're in Hong Kong so the communication isn't the best). As I know more, I'll post. :willy_nil

(Momma Donna...this would be a good time to post one of your famous prayers )

DAMN!!! I go AWOL for a few days and all Hell breaks loose!!!

Congrats to Nick and his family, and a hearty WELCOME to the newbie herpers!! I'd suggest starting them with anoles first, Nick. Then CRESTIES!!! Maybe I'm partial...

As for the prayers-here ya go!!

Prayer for a Premature Baby

A premature baby brings stress to everyone who loves him/her. The new parents and family are often camped out at the hospital, hoping for the day the new baby gains enough strength to come home with them. The following prayer asks God to care for a premature baby and all who care for him/her:

"God who knits us all together in our mother's womb, please protect [insert baby's name] as he/she has left the womb prematurely. Thank you for the medical care that is keeping him/her alive, and for the doctors, nurses, and others who care for [insert baby's name.] Help [insert baby's name] to eat, breathe, and grow, that he/she may join his/her family, in Your name. Amen."

If a family is unable to hold or touch a premature baby, one might say this prayer while touching the incubator where the baby lies. Concerned family and friends may also share this prayer away for the hospital to show support for the premature baby and family.

Thanksgiving for a Healthy Baby

A healthy baby, born safe and alive, is truly a gift. The follow prayer invites a new baby's family to reflect upon the baby's journey as they give God thanks for the new baby's birth:

"Loving God, thank you for the gift of [insert baby's name] into our lives. Thank you especially for [insert specific thanksgivings, such as safe delivery, family support, or others as desired.] You know how eagerly this family has anticipated [insert baby's name here.] Rejoice with us, as we welcome [insert baby's name], and guide him/her to grow strong, healthy, and beautiful in Your name. Amen."

Baby Blessing Prayer

For centuries, Christians baptized their babies at birth. Many Christians choose to baptize later in life and away from the hospital, but a blessing immediately following a baby's birth signifies the baby as Jesus' beloved child. The following blessing is designed for hospital use to welcome a new baby to God's love:

"Loving God, thank you for the gift of life and for bringing [insert new baby's name] safely into this world. May You bless him/her and keep him/her, helping him/her to grow loving, strong, and healthy in Your love, now and always. Amen."

Premature Baby Prayer

God bless the little child behind the plastic wall
For all he knows is the ringing of the bells and
the blurred images around him. He has been taken
from my womb without warning and I long to hold him
in my arms.

Lord, I ask in your name that my child be healed.
I am willing to accept your decision no matter what
it will be. I am willing to take on the responsibilities
for caring for this child. I am willing to give this
child love and understanding no matter the cost.

Please Lord help me to accept reality and what has
happened without explanation or warning. Help me
face the fact that this is not my fault and that
I was given a special task to complete here on Earth.

God give my child the strength to make it through another
second, minute, hour and day as each moment is
a blessing and a triumph from heaven.

God, may you give the strength and compassion
to the caregivers and nurses that take care of my child
May you keep my child protected and free from all injury
and pain.

Please take away the guilt and burden from my heart dear
Lord. It is heavy and I feel it is all my fault.
Take it away dear Lord. Sweet Jesus allow me the stregnth
and understanding I need to communicate with the Doctors
and Nurses.

As you see dear Lord, I am at your mercy for the life of
my child. Please leave him here on Earth and know that
I will provide all the love and understanding that
this child needs. I accept the challenge and will be
your humble servant dear Lord.

And a beautiful poem!!

Little Miracles
By Sue Argy, May, 1997.

I have a little miracle,
that I would like to share.
God has sent me an angel,
That I handle with great care.

She came too soon, she came too small.
Who would help her through it all?
I know that it is you, Lord,
You would never let us fall.

They tell me she will not walk, Lord.
Will you carry her?
They say she will not talk, Lord.
Will you speak for her?

Why do things happen,
to cause such pain?
Suffering and sorrow,
Please God, pull us from the rain.

We need a ray of sunshine,
to see the day through.
We need a bit of faith, Lord.
Can we count on you?

Please give me strength
.Please give me hope.
Let us know we're not alone.

Please let me see her future,
Is filled with hopes and dreams,
Little pink bows and carousels,
It's brighter than it seems.

You handed me a miracle,
For this I know is true.
I look into her eyes, Lord.
Dark skies turn into blue.

I see that ray of sunshine,
I feel that you are there.
I know that it is with your love,
You lift us up with care.

Thank you for my miracle,
And all that you have done.
To give me strength, to give your love,
To show us your bright sun.

My ray of sunshine has come through,
As I hold her in my arms.
My faith has grown but stronger, Lord.
As I cherish her great charms.

You have handed me a miracle,
A tiny little miracle.

Momma, Daddy, Baby #1 & Baby #2, and the whole Polasian family are in our prayers!!!

BTW-Katey said that you're not an auntie unless "Princess Sophia" falls off!!
