In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy I got ripped off! Lonnie Jacobs or fauna user lancehead1980

I hate to say this, but this is way a "COLLECTION SALE" is a very scary propersition. Yes, normally you get a great deal, BUT any problems you are generally screwed, as the seller is DONE and figuers "OH WELL".

Case and point right here !!!

its noted. ok so where is the x-ray to prove it? you could look at a human that walks bent over and say the samething but, could you diagnose scoliosis just by looking, without performing some kind of test? i should think not.

Scoliosis is not always diagnosed by an xray. Why do you think the school nurse has you bend over and she runs her fingers down your spine as a kid? To check for scoliosis. I have scoliosis and believe me, if I am standing straight up even, you can feel my spine curve away from the middle of my back very prominently. I knew I had scoliosis way before a doctor showed me in an xray (which the xray was not even for my back but for something else) An xray is not always needed to prove scoliosis but maybe to prove how severe it is.

So with that being said, I don't think an xray is always needed for a spinal deformity. I am not commenting on the uro's spine because I have never owned one and have no experience. However, I do believe that those with experience will be able to help determine whether those crazy looking bumps are indeed a spinal issue or not.

So what your saying is unless you take an x-ray you cannot tell there is something wrong. Have you ever worked with scoliosis I have and yes I can look and say that someone has it will we take an x-ray sure you have to.

well, since i guess im the one who started the whole "false vet paper" deal, let me say this: there is something wrong with that animal, no doubt about that.
now as far as the "paper" goes, i am in emergency medicine, and we are held in a different standard as far as legal medical records go. every bit of anything to do with a case/patient goes in a medical record, that automatically is attached to a full medical record (history, physical findings, diagnostic performed/interpretations, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and recommended). perhaps general practice medicine is a able to be more lacks in the area of record keeping and chart documentation. if that is the case, my apologies.
just seems to me, that if you go to the trouble to take that animal to a vet and have them write something on a piece of their paper, why not just have them copy the actual report, with all the above legally required info, and scan it here ??

again, even if you had not gone to the vet, there is something wrong with that animal, just seems that since you did go, youd wanna go full force with all proper documentation.

also, dont take any of what i say as a "slam" or anything, its just instilled in me that everything that has to do with medicine at any degree, gets a full chart/medical record. that is how my mind works
And would i personally think you need to do xrays, bloodwork and all these other high cost diagnostics? no.
im just a stickler for official medical records, so just something with a brief history, physical finding, diagnosis (and/or rule out diagnosis) and treatment recommended (ie, medications prescriptions, change husbandry, etc)

I hope all works out for ya on this

at least they dont look so far gone that cant be reversed pretty easily and quickly.

again good luck

It is definitely obvious in the newest pictures that the spine is messed up. I feel bad for the OP, but even more so for the animal. I hope she can live a decent life and not be in pain from it. :(

So let me understand this guys, am I really supposed to tell my vet how to do her job? I called the seller upon receiving a unhealthy animal. I submitted pictured to prove the animal isn't healthy as requested. I was asked to take it to the vet and pay more money out of pocket - I did that. WTF more do you want?

If certain people here trust this clown - feel free to continue to give him your money. I personally will not and wanted to let everyone know what I went through.

Correction, I notified seller through email, not a phone call.
The point is: The animal is NOT healthy. I do have proof from a qualified vet. Now we'll see if Lonnie makes this right.

My doctor does not give me my records without a signed release. They simply tell me what they have diagnosed from the exam.
Same with the vet. Dr Wendt examined the animal and told me her diagnosis. I asked for something in writing to provide proof to seller - that is what she gave me - period.

Proof has been given, photos have been given, seller has been notified - the ball is in his court now.

:iagree: . I think Mark also did a great job with the last photo he posted. There is nothing left to debate, IMHO, and the doctor note/hyper or hypocalcium stuff, while valuable discussion, is taking the spotlight away from the purpose of this thread (to seek restitution from Lonnie Jacobs).

I wish you luck, Mark, and applaud your performance in this thread.

I think "abnormal shape to the spine" is enough. I really see no point in the seller fighting this to the end.

You could hand that Uro to anyone that's ever held a reptile and they would know that animal has a kinked spine. I'm sorry but did someone say to SOAK a uro?!?!? Please don't..

The OP was screwed plain and simple. So much for having a few good transactions your going out a bad guy Lonie!
