Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Nah, his name is not listed in the active viewing list. Looking at that list, all the names and monikers look like they are spelled correctly so I doubt he's viewing under a new name.

I think the bottom line is that this guy is a thief, plain and simple.
He will not give Laura her bee back no matter what he is offered because he already has what he originally wanted- her snake.

I completely agree with Steve about not building a rack for this guy. I think, although the intentions are altruistic, the outcome would be an incentive for Randy to further pursue scamming others in the trade. I'm not saying he won't continue down this path, I'm just saying that rewarding him would be a sure fire incentive. I'm sorry that this happened to you, Laura. I wish the proper authorities could easily pursue this for you because this guy needs to be brought to justice.

Honestly, Randy, all I can say to you is that you really destroyed any chances of having a future in this hobby. I'm sure you don't care though, what with being a scammer and all. I hope this thread serves as a warning to anyone who thinks of doing business with you. It is, thankfully, this first thing that appears on a simple Google search of your name.

Hey guys I have been following the thread but was in class all day (for 9 1/2 straight hours...about to poke my eye balls out) but I didn't have time to respond from my phone. I must say I am very very grateful for all who have offered to help get my bee back and/or contribute to a female black pastel. Let me just say what I'm feeling....#1 I agree that no one should give Randy anything--bribing him to do the right thing is not teaching him anything. And regardless of what you offer he will not trade back...why? because it would prove he was wrong. It will prove the bee is not sick, it will prove the black pastel is a male, and it will force him to eat crow and he just won't do it. He is WAY passed "doing the right thing"....now it's all about saying "f-you" to myself and the rest of you who are "taking sides with me". Sad that he as a human being is that disrespectful.

#2 I do appreciate the offers to chip in to get me a female black pastel...but I am really not one to accept "charity gifts" as I call them. The situation sucks and I got screwed out of a few hundred dollars but I am not desperate for money right now, there are other people out there who really do need financial help and I would rather you all wait for someone who truely needs donations. HOWEVER....I would be VERY greatful if you could send contact info for anyone wishing to TRADE me for the male black pastel. I am all for being FAIR (that's what this whole trade thing was supposed to be) so if anyone hears of anyone looking for a nice male black pastel (who is a good looking kid, and eating well on f/t rat pups (thank goodness!) I would appreciate you passing my info along to them.

#3 I have already sent a link to this thread to my attorney. He is here in FL (Miami area) so I don't know if he is able to pursue a case out of state...I don't know how all that works as far as crossing states....but I will get his professional opinion and see if it would be worth the time and effort and money.....especially if (I can't remember who said it before) there is a larger charge other than fraud...like specifically internet fraud. I will keep you guys posted if I get any information. But the last I spoke with my attorney he said it would hardly be worth the time compared to what I would recover. BUT....now its just a matter of principle and maybe Randy needs a legal battle to prevent him from being a scam artist in the future.

I still can't believe he's such a jerk. It's one thing to make a mistake. It's another thing to try to scam someone and pull a fast one...get caught, fess up, and make it right. But it's another thing to intentionally lie and scam, then try to turn it around on someone else....and then avoid the whole situation other than coming on here to bash and bad mouth other people. It's just not right. :( He's said some pretty nasty things to people and it was unnecessary and uncalled for.

The only thing I really ask all of you to do is spread the word. Direct people to this thread or repost it. I am not really familiar with a lot of bulletin boards and forums--I am a lurker on BP.net (I'm not even sure if they have a forum for this type of thing, I usually just stick to the morphs & genetics forum) and sometimes I go on Kingsnake but have only looked at the classifieds. I would just really never forgive myself if I let this happen to someone else. :(
 
Personally, I would like to see legal action against him. People like him hurt all of us. I'd gladly chip in a bit towards legal fees in order to see some retribution.
 
I agree with Quiet Tempest. Regardless of whether or not its worth the monetary value returned from a legal battle, In my personal opinion, it is worth it to set him as an example. To show that the reptile community will not tolerate this type of thing, and trying to scam one herper is an attack on the entire community, and it will not be taken lightly. :)
