In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I think this has gone on long enough...but how long has it been?

well it doesn't have to be inspired, it just has to be right.
So true.....and just because you're April, if you are correct - I'll send you both of them.

sticking with it but I'll cross my fingers that you get #4 and #6 combos
Now THAT is really too much to hope for, from 2 eggs that probably shouldn't have made it (again, assuming that they do)....And, if your fingers are as magical as I imagine :reddevil: I'll keep them both (babies, not fingers). If that happens, and I get a regular and a #3 in my other clutch - they're yours.

I suppose that I should send somebody the key to that list, so nobody doubts the outcome of this...PM coming your way, April.

The incubator was taking it's sweet:bleep: time coming to temp (only a few hours, but I'm not known for patience), so I put some damp vermiculite in a new tub, moved the eggs, and then Mom. Apparently she didn't like the way I positioned them (they aren't adhered), because she only gave them a half hearted wrap. After a few hours, I picked her up & moved them closer together, then let her get comfy. I took a few seconds to zap them with the temp gun this morning, and she had them right at 89 degrees (Good Mommy!!). I didn't get around to weighing her, even though the scale was right there...she looked okay when I had her out, so I'll give her a couple more weeks unless she starts looking skinny.
It sucks not having a start date to go by...how am I supposed to get all excited, and check twice a day looking for little heads, if I don't even know where we are in the count??

Pulled the eggs this morning...
It may have been related to rising temps in the room (and I was already considering pulling them for that very reason, because it's going to be upper 80s/low 90s this week & that room runs warm), but I found the eggs separated this morning. One apparently cast aside, one loosely draped.
Both eggs now in the incubator...I'm interested to see if the castaway hatches.

Well, since I didn't have a start date to go by, and I figured they should be getting close, I opened the incubator for a peek on 7/1. There were no little heads poking out...and, from what I could see, no slits. Both eggs were dented, though; so I closed the incubator and pushed it back into its spot. I'm thinking I'll check on them again on the 15th. Everybody keep your fingers crossed for April!

LOL can I vote?
trate 1 and combo 5. I hope you get some healthy babies no matter what they are. Good luck. LOL I will take what every ones you don't want ;) You are stronger than I am. I swear the next eggs I incubate I am going to put a web cam in there so I can watch them 24/7 (and drive myself insane doing it)

trate 1 and combo 5.
That's kind of what I'm feeling, at this point, too. (Maybe not my top choices for the two eggs, but they should be nice.)
You are stronger than I am.
I probably won't wait the full two weeks, unless I don't get the feeling they've hatched. I'm too anal about setting up babies to leave them sitting in vermiculite without fresh water for ____ days.

I candled them shortly after starting this thread, and they showed good veining. If you are asking if I have lit them up in attempt to see what is inside them...no, I haven't.
I've been thinking about them a bit this weekend, and I'm starting to think I should probably give them an escape hatch since they were on the dry side. I'd hate to have them fail because they were unable to slit the egg due to that. I'll probably check on them Tuesday, and make a small slit if they haven't pipped. I'm going to let myself be surprised, though - and not look at them until they come out...unless/until I am convinced that the babies didn't make it, in which case I'll probably feel compelled to see.

Escape slits cut on Tuesday - tonight, there were two little heads poking out. One was shy, and disappeared before I could get the lid off the container; the other was pretty interested in the world. I think I know what they both are, but I want to see more than I have before committing. Next peek - Saturday a.m., before bed.

Well, today's check showed two heads. Not all that interested in crawling out into the world yet. From what I can see so far, it is combo#3...x2.
April has told me she prefers a female, so it will be a couple of days before we know if she scored on this clutch.
