In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ian at Select Reps... My BAD experience.

To me this is amazing.
Does Rich still offer 30 days free for someone to defend themselves against accusations?
Even if he doesn't Joe thought it was worth 20 dollars just to get this information on here. He lost no money on the transaction itself but paid basically to run a public announcement to beware. $10 for his own subscription, and $10 for me to help him present the facts. You would think that it would be worth $10 to Ian to say SOMETHING...ANYTHING... But I am pretty sure he can do that for free if it isn't worth it.

I don't know what else to say, but wow.

Yes, he can defend himself in this thread for free simply by asking Rich for the privilege.

Ian, a serious accusation has been made here. It behooves you to speak up. Your silence is as good as an admission of guilt.

Ian's statement to anyone concerned..............

I have been in contact with Ian, and I was asked to post this statement in hi behalf. This is his email he would like to have posted:

Here it is,. My only reply. I have no time for this for good
reasons.!
I'm busy taking care of animals and servicing my customers.

Ok, Here is my statement!

Ian here from SelectReps making a public apology for any information
regarding the Adult Salmon Female to be incorrect.

I was not aware of the previous status of the animal being
potentially
gravid. The animal has not thrown a pill nor stillborn and is still a
Viable breeder. I apologize for offering the animal without knowing
the
previous circumstance correctly. We all get busy, we are not perfect
and we
all make mistakes, we are human,. She is still A very young, healthy
animal
that has great potential to produce.

I have spoken to the original seller of the animal and he believes he
had
let me know of her possibly being gravid last year, again, possibly!!!.
Turns out she wasn't...I did not recall this or know that..But I take
his
word for it,. I didn't take detailed notes as usual. My mistake and by
all
means there was no cruel intention, simple lack of attention. Well
anyways.

I only assumed the animal could be gravid this year from a short term
breeding after a deposit was made and simply asked for a little time to
find
out., but is not, nor has been for over a year which I just recently
found
out after the deposit was issued immediatley back to the potential
buyer.

Regardless, my mistake, my advertising, my responsibility. My apology
to the
potential buyer,. I promised to make good on it. I still will.
Regardless
of Forum chat.

I am in business to do right by everyone.

This will be my last time here on the forum. My business is my
business.
Thanx to all who bragged of what is entirely the truth about my
services and
quality. Hats off to you all. I have worked my whole life for the
love of
my animals. It feels good to know it is appreciated. ...Thank you, I
will
continue to promise the same service, day in and day out for as long as
the
market will bare it.

Peace to you all.

Ian DBA SelectReps

That is all fine and dandy, but it is still a TOS violation for you to post for him in order to bypass his subscription.

Well, I'm not so sure of that because if I'm not mistaken Ritchie Luna posted something to the same affect about another person and the thread held up. You got your answer, not the EXACT way YOU wanted, but you got a statement. If that isn't good enough, I don't know, pay his $10 membership so he can post here. It's just a thought right? This is ONLY my opinion!!!

Ritchie's thread was deleted for TOS violation just as your post should be.

If Ian can't pony up the dough himself then he reamains silent although he can come here free if he emails Rich and asks.

I'm not saying Ian's a bad guy but that was one lame appology and said nothing about the fact that he seems to have lied to the Fig's friend, and Davey, you can't post third party stuff either, your friend needs to handle it himself.

Poor business practices in this instance? Most assuredly. Not paying particular attention to the details of this snakes previous breeding history, JUST this snakes previous breeding history when you breed snakes for a living? I smell tuna.

Although I was not directly involved in the deal with Ian, I am a partner in the future breeding that was to take place using the animal from Ian and have been kept up to date as the deal progressed.

So since you were not DIRECTLY INVOLVED, does this not make your info thrd party?
Hell a future breeding could mean 3 years down the road.

The only reason I bring this up is because Dave you get pretty defensive when someone comes here and posts a good message about Ian.

But since you were not DIRECTLY involved, maybe multiple posts within this thread need to be deleted.

I agree. It's a shame that a guy with a good reputation won't come here because "I have no time for this for good reasons.! I'm busy taking care of animals and servicing my customers."

That's a lame excuse and Ian knows it, I know it, and I suspect Greg, you know it too. He has been observed here several times reading this thread. He had the time to send you that lengthy e-mail. Would it have taken any longer for him to have posted it here?

While what he says may be completely true, he should come here and make his statements himself and be willing to defend them if necessary.

I'm disappointed that someone with as many fans and backers as Ian has (he has Good Guy posts on this thread and elsewhere on the BOI) is unwilling to respond here because he has no time. To me, that would be part of "servicing my customers". I suspect that in the long run his relative silence will harm him more than a public appearance.

I think he lied, Ian, got caught and doesn't have the stones to say so.

Far better IF you did get caught lying to come here and say so than to remain quiet, veritbly chumming the waters as-it-were.

ermmm hold the phone here
if she is an 02 model
and lets just say she has been bred twoce that means she was two when she was first bred.... OK IMHO too young and raised by powerfeeding NOW if she was bred three times ummm that would make her a year old on her frist breeding... either way sompin aint right

p.s. there have been reports of animals being powerfed and they never would produce. also, reports of powerfed animals having a much shorter life span (for whatever reasons... i have no clue but i have a few ideas why anywho....)

that is the typoed correction above

I have never dealt with Ian

BUT, if he chooses not to come here thats his choice.

"Again I will say it is awesome that you had a good deling with Ian, but that doesn't mean you should come here and belittle this thread."

Well actually, its does mean that. When ten people post that they had good experiences, vers. your 1 bad experiance, it leads me to believe that a mistake was made, or that there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding, rather than an outright dirty deed. I appreciate the guys who say "My deal went great with Ian" because it helps me weight the situation without it being inside a little box, in which the poster would like to keep it. A guy who has a good rep and does something "shady" is more likely to have done it by mistake than not. Its the guys who have no defenders that you have to worry about.

My .2.

Shawn

I agree with Shawn 100%. This is a guy with a good rep and this is only one strike against him, but....if it were myself, I would come here and own up to it or defend myself.

Ian's absence leaves one wondering about his ethics. That's by no means anything even close to proof that he's a bad guy, but it does leave one wondering if he has something to hide. The longer he waits before making an appearance here, the worse it looks. And given his previously stellar reputation and his staunch defenders here, that is a shame.

I bet that the people who are defending him will look much more closely when they buy from him now. I also bet that this is the beginning of Ian's downfall. That email sounded like a lame excuse to me.

What was the TOS when the snake was bought? Was there any clause in there where you could return the animal?

Karen Hulvey said:
Sheesh How many times does it have to be said?
HE DOESN'T HAVE TO PAY TO DEFEND HIMSELF.
And even if he did, it would be $10 well spent, IMO.

Davey was NOT a 3rd party on the deal, he is a silent partner... We are working on a project together, he has 50% of the decision on which animal is purchased.. Davey has been kept up to speed on every email to Ian since the beginning, along with every other reply to OUR KS wanted ad.. I've been leaving posts, but they seem to be ignored, so you can't say I'm not speaking up for myself.. Davey has every right to post whatever he feels about this particular deal, he is NOT in TOS violation.. I have basically said ALL I have to say in the FIRST post, I haven't been asked ANY questions direrectly, only because of the fact I didn't leave any gaps in the story.. If you have a question for me, ASK AWAY...

Ian was 100% confident she would breed, and I believed him... I didn't ask if I could return her, if she didn't reproduce. I didn't find out about her breeding problems until AFTER I already made the decision not to buy her... I'm aggrivated because I potentially purchased an animal for intentions on breeding her, and wasn't told about her previous problems. If I made the decision to buy her, I would potentially be out of $4000.00, for an animal that has bad odds on reproducing... I wouldn't like to see someone else in the same situation I would have been in.
