Davey wasn't BROUGHT here by me for defense... Davey is a PART of the deal.... Davey has been kept up to speed with ALL of the emails and phone conversations from the START... There is no prompting going on, Davey knows as much as I do... I thought I cleared this up a few pages ago.

I think that because Davey did not think his presence was needed here badly enough to come himself that Greg thought you brought him over to be on your side, which is how it appears.

He may be your partner, Davey, but the deal was with YOU, yes or no? Was Davey EVER in contact with ian? In any form? Phone, email, pm, what have you or were you the only contact?

Davey may be your partner but so far it seems the deal was between you and ian and that Davey was not, so to speak, at your side throughout all dealings which would render him somewhat less than ideal as an eyewitness to the dealings between you and ian.

No, you're right, Davey was never in contact with Ian... I'm sorry. But Davey is being compared to the people defending Ian... The people defending Ian have no idea what is going, so how can they defend Ian in this situation and say they Firmly believe this or that, about this specific deal??

If Davey was TOLD everything you know, by you, then just say so and go from there. But, to imply that he was at your elbow thoughout this interaction is not exactly accurately representing how it occured. At least that is how I am reading this and if I am wrong please say so.

There were quite a few responses to my KS wanted ad, every email I recieved, I forwarded them to Davey, so he could review... We both had to agree on which female to pick.. Davey was just as involved in the deal as I, as far as coming to a decision on which one we would use. So yes, Davey did have authority over the deal, he was a silent partner.. If I have worded things wrong, I'm very sorry... Davey was never in direct contact with Ian. I didn't TELL Davey anything, I just forwarded emails...

I was as much of an eye witness as you can get over the net. I saw everything Joe saw. We spend probably 3 hours a night online at the same time. I don't talk to Joe every second of that time, but every lead whether through PM, Email, whatever was forwarded by me to him, or from him to me. My email address was also listed in the ad, so many of the people who knew me contacted me rather than Joe when they had a lead. I did have a role in this, and that is why Joe emailed Ian to let him know he was passing on the female.
As for Jared's comment about us pushing the deal so hard:we had already backed out when Ian replied to another one of our ads. About quarantine, she would have been quarantined for 90 days, which is why we needed her so soon.

Also, I don't have a problem with people coming here to tell of their good dealings with Ian. It is weird to me however that their posts are much longer, and a lot more detailed here than on their posts on any good guy thread about Ian, and some haven't even posted there. Had they talked him up more there, then it wouldn't seem like they were just spicing it up here.

Ian has enough time to put into this matter, as far as getting others to defend, but can't come here himself.. Ian, man, just come on here and we can talk... I'm not out to get you, I was hoping you WOULD show your face and clear your name by calling Mark from Loco Lizards out, but I don't know what's goin on, and I can only go by what I know so far. I'll purchase an account for you Ian, so you can express your side of the story, just drop me an email. A question for anyone reading this...
What speculation does everyone keep refering to?
Are we speculating that Ian lied? Nope, first email said she didn't take. Another email says gravid, and due in a month, but going to get an ultrasound done. Another says something about him doing a 10 point check, and he knows for sure she isn't gravid. Was an ultrasound done? Because that was the only way Ian would be sure she wasn't gravid. What were the other 9 points?
Then there are lies about the size, either to Joe, or to everyone reading his ads on KS.
I wish Mark would come here and either confirm, or deny charges by Ian that he didn't share the breeding history. I really can't believe that Ian didn't know ANYTHING about it. I mean really, how many possible super salmon females are out there at that size, for under 3k?...none. How many adult salmons look that that nice as adults, and are priced at under 3k? none. Why would a breeder sell such a valuable animal, at such a prime size for so cheap, and why would Ian not question it? Ian obviously knows the value of that animal if she were a good breeder. He was selling for $4,500 on his site.

As for whether that account was opened for that sole reason, it might look that way but I'm not sure we know that as fact.

Agreed Jim. I am not going to even question whether he joined just to come here and post on this thread. I wouldn't have been here if not for this issue either. I decided a while back that although Fauna is an awesome site I personally would not be paying to use it when I can find similar sites on the net for free. I was around before it was pay to post, and now that this has come up, I will probably be paying the fee next year myself. I guess you don't know what you've got til its gone, or you've gone huh?
It is good to be back though, just wish it were under other circumstances.

I did join to defend Ian- that is how much I approve of how he does business and I want more business men like him around in this business. I was honest about it- that is why when it asked I wrote it- it took you guys awhile to read that- chuckles I also looked at this site and thought it might be usuful- so defending Ian was the reason I came- paying was a seperate agenda- I see no problem with any of that- even if I did pay a meesely $10 spot to help a friend, that's what friends do- help each other- right Davey and Joe.
Anyway- I don't like the way you guys refer to me- not a very nice way to do business- in this line of work it is all about quality product, presentation, and costomer service- friends can really help you in this business, you should not be so quick to burn bridges with people you do not know- you never know when you might want to deal with them in the future.
I usually try to be completely honest but tactful at the same time- It has worked in my favor more than not.
P.S.- 90 days is way too short of a quarenteen- I am passing this info on from experience- I am sure the animal from Ian is perefect health- but IBD is no joke and the experts say 6 months is likely too short- i only aim too help

This is all kinda silly. You have quite a few people posting good guy posts on a thread that.... who it's about can read it all day long but not come here to defend himself. Does not make sense at all? If I was accused of lying and I knew I didn't, than I would be here in a heartbeat with fire in me like no other.

You have a guy named Jered or Jerry praising a re-saler in other words a broker, how he has to make his money, yet he complains about his whole collection infected. Tell me this.......are all Ian's animals quarantined for 6 months? Did you Jered learn the hard way from buying animals from Ian? What are you really trying to say in your posts? I don't get it.

It looks like to me an I am sure a few others.....BOTTOM LINE: Someone lied to Joe Lydon about an expensive animal he was to buy. All Joe wants to do is clear the air. What is so hard about that. I don't know Joe. I don't know Davey or Ian but you all can guess who I will probably won't be buying any animals from(that includes a couple of people in this thread).

Glad you (Joe and Davey) didn't get as far into the deal as you originally intended!!!!

I know the T.O.S. says that you must be the focus of thread to have the free pass to post but I think Mark should get it if Ian will not post. I would be very upset with this statement.

I just don’t get it! Setting aside Ian’s reputation, why would Ian have to send anyone anywhere to defend him? Why would he send an email instead of posting?
The only reason that makes sense is that he would not have to answer any questions.

I can think of a few reasons but I would rather Ian come on and explain the deal instead.

Regarding Davey's Right to Post Here

On 4/18/05 Joe Lydon wrote me an e-mail. At the close of it Joe said the following:

"I actually purchased 3 holdback Davey Pastels directly from Davey.. He's a good friend of mine and we were just wondering who sold you that snake as a Davey Pastel... I have also spoken through email with Ian, I'm gonna end up getting that female, she's AWESOME... She's actually being sent to Davey's place in CA to be used on the Sire DP... Should make for some interesting babies..."

"That female" refers to Ian's hypo because I had spoken to Ian in person about Joe's quest for an adult ready to go female hypo and I'd written Joe about checking it out. The hypo was going to be bred with "the Sire DP". DP stands for Davey Pastel and many people are aware that Dave's female passed away last year so is in need of a replacement for his pastel project. Now I don't know about you, but I'd say the fact that a $4,000 animal was intended to go directly to Davey's home shows his level of involvement in this deal and IMHO he has every right to post here. Ian also has every right to post but it doesn't appear that it's going to happen. Again, that's his option.
