In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....
I don't know if I'm just missing something here or what, but all the back pedaling and "ah it's not their fault, just bad luck, etc. etc." just seems really really odd to me.

seriously, something does smell funny in here. first he hates them, and now hes buying another snake from them after spending more money at the vet.

explanation please sir

What are you talking about? I didn't buy another snake from them, and I never will again because of what happened. I just feel like I totally blew up and stuff like this happens in the reptile trade a lot I assume. It just wasn't handled well between me or Ian.

Read back a few pages where ralphie tells us all he let's people walk all over him.... well it seems that has happened to him yet again! Ralphie came here to find resolve from his un happy transaction but just got called names so after all the tough guys got done bashing him for everything that was NOT related to the fact that he WAS sold a sick snake and their was never any resolution... looks like ralphie just gave up.. what else is he gonna do? Call ian and get cursed at again? Ralphie search for a seller that is strictly a ball python breeder with customer service and buy direct from them. One I thought was awesome is sloan reptiles out of colorado. Sorry you had a crappy day at the show. Live and learn sir live and learn.

That pretty much sums it up...I received a nice and healthy spider in the mail today from a respectable breeder that I will most likely keep buying from in the future. I was sold a sick snake from Outback and the snake's medical bills were not helped with after the first visit. I also had to pay another $250+ out of my own pocket at the next vet to make the snake completely better. I'm just taking a wild guess since Ian deals with many snakes, it was a one in a million shot that they let me buy a sick snake off their table. The situation at the next show I went to just wasn't handled right by either me or Ian. That is all.

Well, I ordered two animals from Outback a few days ago, then read this thread and had to wonder what I was in for. What happened? I got a GREAT deal on two animals that were shipped perfectly in excellent condition, and I even bought them sight-unseen based on a description from Josh, and they were better than I expected. I would totally buy from them again the next time they have something I might want, and would recommend them to my friends based on my experience. I have alot of years in dealing with reptiles and some medical knowledge to boot, and these are very healthy.

WOW, it blows my mind how everyone wants to run in and say I got this great deal so put tha tin your pipe and smoke it. The point is, in a face to face, Ian cussed and basically dumped on the customer. It really shouldn't matter how many 1,000's of great deals he has done. This ONE deal he should swallow his EGO and do the right thing by the customer. Switch places with this kid one time, you and your girlfriend get a public chastizing because you had the balls to say "hay this was a sick snake, here are the vets findings". I know I know we all would agree with whatever the breeder says and accept that we are duhhhsssssssssss .

Well, there is this thing called manners, and if the OP had good manners he would have confronted the offender either by phone or privately, not in front of anyone (as happens on the internet). If two people can't resolve something on the phone, it's not very bright to think it would go better in person at a show. If a face to face was that important to him, he should have made an appointment with Ian to speak with him on a day other than at the show.

And in case you forgot, Bob, this is the BOI forum. People come to this forum to read reviews and dealings regarding particular vendors/sellers to determine if they want to do business with them, recommend them or not, etc. I had a positive expereince to add to the list. Sorry to dissapoint with a lack of drama in my post.... just stating the facts, not "running in to say" something.

Did you read wha tyou just wrote ? The way you worded it sounds like, if he couldn't resolve the issue over the phone or thru e-mail, then he should has just folded his hands and said oh well. "Stupid" to think it wouold get better in person ? I personally would have only done it face to face after the initial attempt. I thrilled that you had a good experience and I'm POSITIVE many many other will with Ian too. This person didn't, let me rephrase that THIS PERSON GOT PUNKED BY IAN IN PUBLIC !!! Unacceptable, period end of story.

im still gunna side with ian on this one, based solely on the OPs account of what happened. not to mention the other 2-3 people that supported it was even worse than he ( the op ) originally stated.

p.s. simple curiosity question, why buy two spiders?

that's nice. i'd like to see you get cursed out along with your girlfriend because you were sold a sick snake and nothing was done about it.

the one from ian is a male and i have no plans for it at the moment in any breeding projects. the one i just received is het for ghost and is a female. i have plans for her in the future.

Ralphie graciously bumped our bad guy thread to the front page so that he could say sorry and tell us that all is now well with the snake, not so that random people could attack him about it. As exciting as old news is, let's all leave him alone and

Glad things seemed to have worked out for you. I personally will not buy from them after reading this thread-
http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157063&highlight=outback+reptiles

I almost bought some Goniurosaurus from them awhile back but then remembered the poor leopard geckos from that thread. I bought from somewhere else.

I think this is a bit unfair - sure we read the same post? The issue was fixed ASAP and there was a very reasonable explanation for it all. I realize it's easy to condemn the person that's put out to be the bad guy, but it's not always the case.

The OP of this thread obviously didn't handle it very well, and maybe Outback didn't have the best response either, but would you if you had third parties (in this case, girlfriends and mommies) harping on you and then some kid messing with your potential clients at a show causing a scene?

It's been dealt with - why beat a dead horse? Simply not supporting Outback with purchases is enough to satisfy your feelings. Why feel the need to post about it? Actions often speak louder than words...

Well, despite whatever happened here, I'm gonna take this opportunity to give Outback a good plug. I received a top notch black pastel ball from them that was very healthy and vigorous.

The issue (to me at least) is why the geckos were allowed to get in that condition in the first place. Simple.

I think it is funny how Ralph is attacked for his mom and girlfriend sticking up for him while no one says a thing about all these people (Mike Schultz) sticking up for Ian. I don't think Ian has came on here and defended himself once, has he? Talk about weak and lame...

Or maybe Ian doesn't feel the need to mess with petty crap like this. I don't know the guy personally but this situation was probably not worth his time...

He doesn't care about his internet rep he said. That's fine. Mike works for him and checks internet related stuff for Ian. This thread was started because he sold me a sick snake. That is all. I wish i received a nice "top notch" snake from Ian as you did KingBower, but I did not.
