    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It seems it's related to the "Stolen animals update" link inside. For it to pertain to the BOI probably the title has to be changed and the content of the link pasted in the thread. The information contained inside seems to be very important and relevant to NERD and Renaissance Reptiles.

IMO, it looks like a personal matter between a man and his wife/ex-wife. And I think it would be up to one of them to post this here.

Sorry fish21, but I fail to see how this belongs here. The pretty snake comment was a pun. Now this would be a different story if you could provide proof of the statements made on that link, but I doubt this is the case. Therefore, it is a personal matter and was linked here by a third party without proof of the statements made there. Just my opinion.
 
It makes one wonder what happened to the original post by Renaissance Reptiles about this matter. I thought posts were not deleted here!

Apparently your understanding of the way that the rules are enforced here is incomplete.

It has been the case MANY MANY times over the years, that posts or threads that are incorrectly posted or in violation of the rules have been removed from this forum. Sometimes they are simply moved to a more appropriate forum, other times they are moved to a garbage bin forum or outright deleted. Others are just locked so they fall to the bottom of the BOI sea.

As for this "original post" you refer to above, I don't recall any details at all about it.

But regardless, threads about thefts and the like are not appropriate here and are often referred to the Police Blotter forum.
 
Perhaps its placement here is my fault...
I deleted the OP's thread in General Herp Talk this morning - it consisted of little more than the link to the page Dan (BoidSmith) referenced above. In my explanation to him, I stated that given the content of that page - particularly the NERD references and accusations - made it appropriate only to the BOI if it was to be discussed on this site.

don't make the mistake of taking anything he says too seriously. Gail was awarded the snakes - Nigel stole them - he is a bitter little man that wasn't able to con the judge into making Gails life miserable - End of Story - someones messy divorce is not a BOI matter.

There were some pretty serious allegations made against NERD.
Normally, threads like this are locked and the OP is given the opportunity to repost in the appropriate forum. This was not the case here.

I personally feel that both the original poster and Nerd, should have the opportunity to elaborate upon, and defend their positions in this matter.

My understanding is that threads are initially "soft-deleted". If that is the case, you as the admin, should be able to make a determination as to whether this issue deserves that opportunity by both parties.

I guess you'll just have to take this up with whoever it was that handled that thread, Mike. I'm still not sure what thread you are referring to or where it was located. Just as I'm not sure if you are insinuating something underhanded taking place here.

Those allegations were the reason that a) I deemed it inappropriate to the General Herp Talk forum, b) felt that the BOI was the appropriate place (while I did consider the options for moving it, I wasn't sure the Police Blotter was appropriate given the format and subjective nature). I chose to delete it instead of closing it because it would have left no option for NERD, as an entity, or Kevin and Kara, as individuals, to respond - short of starting a new thread someplace else....and the simple nature of the thread (a link with a request for thoughts/comments) made it pretty simple to recreate if the OP desired to do so.

(This was the thread that I mentioned in the Feedback Forum, that I had initially just attempted to report the post, and, failing that, opted to delete it. I did PM the OP with an explanation, and, obviously, he opted to slightly reformat his post and try it in the BOI.)
 
As a further elaboration, the inclination here to NOT delete posts and threads really only applies to the BOI and has nothing at all to do with the rest of this site. Someone posting something completely inappropriate most certainly does run the risk of having it deleted if posted outside of the BOI.

i am just trying to warn others of the sickness and how any snakes bought from nerd could be taken by the court or kill your entire collection when you get them home. regardless of who this thread is about from the biggest breeder in the bizz to the smallest hobbyest. people need to know all the info before they a animal. isnt this what the BOI was made for???? :shrug01:
