Well, I read this thread, and bought from them because nothing onhere sounded too terribly bad, but this place needs some definite improvement.
I asked them to ship me a blood python in an insulated box with a 40 hour heat pack. They charged me $39, not the typical $35 which I didn't mind, however after how things wen, I did mind.
Here is what actually happened...
9:00 AM this morning, I get up, waiting for shipment. I call fedex around 11 because no snake, and overnight was supposed to be here by 10 AM. They said the people did NOT ship it priority overnight, they used the other overnight service that delivers by 3 PM. I emailed them explaining that most people in the herp industry use priority and charge less for the same packing criteria that I asked for, and that I was a little upset that they would jeapordize my animal for a few lousy bucks, and they replied saying basically 'we're sorry we charge so much, we have a one size fits all shiping system'. No mention at all of the danger that my animal was in.
Well, I was taking time off work to wait for this animal, and so I had to take off for a bit to drop by the office. Get back, and I have missed the fedex people. I go to fedex to pick up the snake at 5 PM, PST (they had shipped the snake at 10:30 AM PST the previous day according to my email) and it is now 30 hours since they put it in the box. I know that the 40 hour heat packs work well, and let me tell you, this was no 40 hour heat pack. It was stone cold. She was so cold that this little girl didn't even think about trying to nip at me, and this is a snake that they said was nippy. She was also stuffed in a snake bag and put into a foam cooler that had far too little newspaper in it to prevent her from getting badly jostled about in shipping. She was a little thin too, but that was the least of my worries.
I've sent them another email this evening, and I am posting here before I get the reply, to prevent them from bribing me into thinking that they are a good company to deal with.
I will forward the emails to anyone who wishes to see them, simply PM me.
