In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I saw a thread about these guys recently but it seems to have vanished into the aether...
Well...I've seen a number of posts by Aquarium Stuffers on the ks.com classifieds. They have some good looking animals and good deals.
But are they too good?
Anyone dealt with them? Heard about them? Heard OF them?

Not Bad...

I ordered a Uroplatus gecko from them about a week ago. The animal was honestly represented and healthy as promised.

The only problem I have with them is that in order to buy something you have to do it via their "shopping cart" type of webpage which I found incredibly annoying. I don't like to buy live animals like I do my sweaters... I almost nixed off buying from them just because I had to punch in alot of info and create an "account" to order...

Otherwise, no complaints...fast shipping of a healthy animal as pomised is what I got.

I won't buy from them for the sole reason that they got suckered into posting on the j.Puker Classifieds. If they fall victim to a simpletons spam email trick that easy, than I simply boycott them for fear of being a sucker like them. Leaves me wandering with to many doubts to risk purchasing from them.

Just incase they do see this site, they can see why I am so concerned about purchasing anything from anyone that gets suckered into posting on j.Pukers classifieds at the link below.

The j.Puker Thread...

Where you post is just as important as what you post. IMO.

I have not purchased from them but they seem to be honest. At least they are putting in their advertisments that their leucistic texas rat snakes have birth defects. Many people would try to hide the fact that they were bug eyed. As far as good deals, I don't think they have anything that couldn't be found cheaper if you looked around.

Tim: I find it funny that you will automatically discount people for posting in a thread YOU started.

Steve Schindler

Steve,
Tim didn't boycott them for posting in his thread about joePuker. (which I don't think thy even have) He boycotted them for getting suckered into posting on joePukers classifeds page via spammed invites from JoePuker. Anyone associated with this lowlife should be considered suspect until proven otherwise.

JoePuker has been spamming the paying advertisers of KingSnake in order to get unsuspecting victims to post on his dead forum.

Hope you understand now.

Good enough for me...

Thanks for the replies, folks. That's enough suspicion for me to keep an eye on them for a while before purchasing anything. My money doesn't come easily enough to risk losing it, even if the risk is small.

Well, I read this thread, and bought from them because nothing onhere sounded too terribly bad, but this place needs some definite improvement.

I asked them to ship me a blood python in an insulated box with a 40 hour heat pack. They charged me $39, not the typical $35 which I didn't mind, however after how things wen, I did mind.

Here is what actually happened...

9:00 AM this morning, I get up, waiting for shipment. I call fedex around 11 because no snake, and overnight was supposed to be here by 10 AM. They said the people did NOT ship it priority overnight, they used the other overnight service that delivers by 3 PM. I emailed them explaining that most people in the herp industry use priority and charge less for the same packing criteria that I asked for, and that I was a little upset that they would jeapordize my animal for a few lousy bucks, and they replied saying basically 'we're sorry we charge so much, we have a one size fits all shiping system'. No mention at all of the danger that my animal was in.

Well, I was taking time off work to wait for this animal, and so I had to take off for a bit to drop by the office. Get back, and I have missed the fedex people. I go to fedex to pick up the snake at 5 PM, PST (they had shipped the snake at 10:30 AM PST the previous day according to my email) and it is now 30 hours since they put it in the box. I know that the 40 hour heat packs work well, and let me tell you, this was no 40 hour heat pack. It was stone cold. She was so cold that this little girl didn't even think about trying to nip at me, and this is a snake that they said was nippy. She was also stuffed in a snake bag and put into a foam cooler that had far too little newspaper in it to prevent her from getting badly jostled about in shipping. She was a little thin too, but that was the least of my worries.

I've sent them another email this evening, and I am posting here before I get the reply, to prevent them from bribing me into thinking that they are a good company to deal with.

I will forward the emails to anyone who wishes to see them, simply PM me.

Regards,
Derek Chauran

How is the blood doing?

These are awesome snakes, but they need a "little" extra care when being shipped.... heat!

I've never delt with them before and after reading your story I think it will stay that way!

Scott Collien

Derek,

I can understand why you are upset, but you can't blame them for your having missed the fed ex guy. You decided to go to the office (for whatever reason) So its your fault you missed them. I know that this is not what you are upset about at all, and that you just put that in there to provide the neccessary details. I know the extra few hours were probably not enough for the heat pack to cool off that much. I just wanted to let you know that if this thing escalates you should not use that aspect as part of your case, it adds nothing to your claims as it has no bearing on them.

Steve Schindler

overnight was supposed to be here by 10 AM

I think Derek points out that according to the info he had from these people, the blood should of arrived by 10am.

That being the case, then yes, it does add something to his claims.

This may sound crazy but here goes ....... I have seen their post of different animals and I think I may even have emailed them a question about one of their animals but after using just the smallest amount of greymatter ( Not that much to spare ) I thought about their name and it just doesn't agree with me.

AQUARIUM STUFFERS

Sounds very callous, like they don't care about the animals they are dealing with, for that matter it could be newspaper they are stuffing that aquarium with. These are all just the crazed thoughts that roam around inside that mellon three feet above my butt. They might very well be the nicest people with the best animals and I wish them no ill will and wish them nothing but the best as long as they do things the right way and deal in healthy animals but something inside me ( Based on nothing ) says NO

I am currently seeking professional help .....

Their latest reply:

Hello Derek,
We appreciate your input! We will start shipping priority overnight.
Thanks aquariumstuffers.com

That wins them a bit of respect back in my mind (assuming they live up to it), but I still won't be buying from them again.

Great Experience

I purchased 2.4 Red Eyed Tree frogs from them and I had great purchasing experience with them. They sent me pictures of the exact animals I bought and even admitted they were just making an educated guess on the sex ratio going by size of the animals. I called them on four separate occasions spoke to Tyrone and John asking various questions and they were really helpful and not once I felt like they were trying to pressure me into buying anything. I paid the $39.95 shipping and received the animals around 1:00pm. The heat packs were still hot and the animals were packed very professionally. My wife even commented on the nice preprinted Aquarium Stuffers.com labeled box.

In my opinion Aquarium Stuffers are an all around professional group of folks with great prices and great animals.

Just my two cents,

I was looking through kingsnake classifieds and saw an ad from them for a blood python. I have never done any business with these guys, but the snake in the ad doesn't appear to be in the greatest shape to me. Maybe it does feed for them and looks better now. I guess I don't know, but when they say that it's "hand selected and it shows" and it looks like that, I don't really know what to think.

I guess I was just surprised by the shape they were selling this snake in. It appears to have decent weight, but with all the scarring looks like a fresh import. I thought imported adults are usually hard to get feeding, etc?

just an observation...

The term 'hand selected' almost always referrs to a WC animal, sorta like 'cherry picked'. There's nothing wrong intrinsically with selling WC animals as long as the seller is very honest about the animal's origin and current condition.

Erin Benner

Well for one thing where they live there are none or very few wholesalers and they are more than likely purchasing the animals from here in Florida as most do. I question how did they "hand pick" that animal if this is the case. The animal in the picture does have alot of scarring on it and is not the best looking specimen I have seen even from Fresh Imported adults.

Everything I've seen from them seems to indicate that they're pretty inexperienced with reptiles. Others have pointed out (not sure where that thread went) that they've repeatedly mis-identified species in ads. I saw the ad for the leucistic TX rat, and to me it read like they were pushing the bug eyes as a feature, and the price didn't seem discounted due to the defect. (And I have to question anyone selling animals with genetic defects, but that's another topic in itself.)

That said, it seems like they were at least willing to take positive action from their dealing with Derek, in regard to promising to ship w/morning delivery. Has anyone ordered from them since then, who can verify this?

I'd have to say I'd take a wait and see approach, and see if they improve on these sorts of things with more experience. Nothing wrong with being new, or making mistakes, as long as you learn in the process.

[I'll have to be honest and admit that I'm very unlikely to ever order animals from them or any other retailer, as I prefer to deal with breeders on higher end purchases, and that's all I plan to make in the foreseeable future.]

Gary...

The name Sunshine reptiles is very offensive to me since I am an albino, and cannot be in the sun very long....

OK, I am not an albino, but that is pushing the boundaries of being very silly, Aquarium Stuffers, think they are a fish seller right, well, not a bad name, not a great name...

I agree, to a tropical fish enthusiast the name is cute. To herpers it conjures up all those people we hear about actually stuffing snakes into aquariums (6 foot burms in 10 gallons and the like)...

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but has anyone been able to get in touch with Aquarium Stuffers lately? I have contacted them regarding supplies they have advertised with no response through both KS.com and the e-mail address listed on their website. I want to do business with them, but I need an answer to the shipping/ordering question I asked before I can proceed on their "shopping cart," which I am not terribly fond of to begin with.

Thanks,

Lauren Rost
