I did a little more snooping as I still cannot believe someone would go so far as to claim a family member died to gain some kind of understanding from someone they attempted to rip off.

So I made a fake hotmail account with a fake name (Ryan V) and responded (with bad grammar and all) to an ad the "deceased" Amy Caudill posted on another animal classified back on 4/19 before she "died".

Yes my Savannah Monitor is still for sale. His name is Demon. He is over 2 Ft long. He is kind of aggressive and does hiss a lot. He also does get out of the cage a lot if you do not have something heavy on top of the lid. He is very healthy and is eating really good. He does sleep a lot though. He does like to go outside. You can put him on the leash and he will walk with you. But he does sit in one spot for a while. The only place he really likes to be petted at is on the top of his head. He is shedding right now becasue he is growing more. He is really beautiful and a great animal to have, but I am just running out of room for him. So I emailed her asking about the lace monitor, ridgetail and other critter and questions about shipping and she responded back with this....

The name of my business is my name. (Amy Caudill). Actually, I got an offer about a half hour ago for Demon for $300 and that is just for him. So you can have just him for $350. The ridge tail monitor is just a common ridge tail monitor. The only babies for sale is what I have on the list. Those are the only animals that I currently have avaiable for sale. The Lace Monitor is a male. He is aggressive. I'm not exactly sure of how big he is, but he's got to be about 2 FT. The Lace I got from my aunt. She breeds reptiles also. So I buy babies from her so I can breed them when they are old enough. As for shipping. I have the buyer arrange for shipping. I usually tell them to have shipping done through FedX, because it is cheaper. All you have to do is call and ask them how much it would could to have reptiles shipped to where you live from Davison, MI. From what I know, through FedX, you don't have to have an account. But if you can't get the arrangements made, just let me know and I will have that done. But I do charge more if I have to make the shipping arrangements. I feel that the buyer should make the arrangements for safety. But get back to me as soon as possible.

I don't know anything about lizards and their prices, so the prices didn't seem odd, or familiar, but the prices on those cornsnakes! I want her number so I can sell my snakes to her! I'll give them to her at 3/4ths the price she paid for the other stuff, and that way she can make a "real" profit.

With that list of herps I find her earlier "I didn't know" business ridiculous.... and the "You're Prejudiced" business was hilarious. I get that from time to time, usually at the beginning of the school year. Then the students find out that this gringa (me) speaks spanish as well as they do, absolutely loves the language and culture, and could NOT be called prejudiced at all. Even the "white" students learn I can't be considered "reverse prejudiced" because I treat my students equally. But I have to say that this "you're prejudiced" email reminds me strongly of the students I teach. Sounds like a scammer.

Reminds me of someone I "met" on cornsnakes.com I finally decided she was a scammer. First she had a "non feeder" she was going to give me... then she had a tragedy occur, and wanted to get rid of her other two cornsnakes at some horribly inflated price (I'm moving to California, and I don't have a dime to my name after my horrible tragedy).... problem is she picked on a school teacher with no money. I couldn't help her. I could only take her poor "non feeder" as I have mice to spare. Never heard from her again.

That list of animals makes me wonder does someone else have a list of animals out there like that? It actually LOOKS familiar. As if she found it elsewhere, copied it, made a few changes to the prices, and used it, hoping to rip people off.

Amusing and informative. Amidst all the other errors on her price list, one stood out in particular to me:

She is offering both "Monkey Tailed Skinks" and "Prehensile Tailed Skinks." The MTS are $500, and the PTS are $450.

Even with the ridiculous prices, you could make a quick 50 dollar profit buying her "PTS" and selling her another "MTS."


She's "running out of room" for the Savannah? In the warehouse she obviously has to keep all those herps?

I just contacted the Michigan State Patrol Headquarters and they have no record of the death of Amy Caudill or Amie Caudill. They also did a search by listing all fatalities involving DUIs in the state in the last month. Nothing.
I also contacted the Michigan St. Patrol in Flint (the jurisidiction near her home) and the have no record of the Death of Amy Caudill or Amie Caudill. They too did a search regarding DUI fatalities in their jurisdiction and nothing came up.
And finally I contacted the Davison Township Police and they have no death notices or any fatalities that were not of natural causes in weeks,let alone anyone named Caudill.

Then I checked my email. Not my fake email account but the one where I got the notice that she was "killed" and the same address that I got the email from her daughter with her life story.
I got yet another one from "Jasmin", Amy's supposed daughter.

That was the end of it. So Amy Gonzelous has a brother Jose Gonzelous, who has a daught Amie Caudill (who is now dead) and Amie has a daughter name Jasmin Angel Gonzelous. So Jasmin Has her grandfathers name. And Since Jasmin is 16, and Amie was 29 when she died, Amie had Jasmin when she was 13.
