In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Pat, I was told of this thread from people that know of what he did to me. It would be great to see if she Mickey can clean up the all the messes that Tony started and did not finish. I am one of the people he ripped off. Here is the link to the thread I started

Tracy, we are aware of the link. That is one we have already discussed. I sent you an email to call me yesterday and I sent you another one tonight based on this thread. Let me know if you didn't get it. I'll check back here later.

Sooo......my basic point is, that if Mickey is truly here trying to make a fresh start of this, a poor reference can sometimes be worse than none at all.
:iagree:
Especially when the poor reference admits to being partners with the dirt ball people are attempting to avoid getting ripped of by.

I was partners with Tony Hurt on some animals from a few years ago, and we still have some together.

To Randy and Kelli:

You are both exactly right...it only takes a few minutes to set up and verify a PayPal account...its the back end efforts you don't take into consideration when posting your "opinions"...take it for what you will...I have a many obligations and spend my time working on the priorities and then re-prioritizing the priorites when necessary...and I am fully aware of where my money goes...

To all:

I am thankful that I have this opportunity, a positive outlook on what I am doing and for the people who are supportive. The last time I checked, it took a combination of these among other characteristics to take on new and innovative projects. I look forward to learning new things and include the business of breeding reptiles.

John,
Since you quoted me at the bottom of your thread, I can only assume you are calling me the poor reference, which I don't think Cat was referring to me.

If so, what reason do you have to call me a poor reference. My position was explained long ago, and my supporters have acknowleded I have had no dealings with Tony concering hets. If I have misunderstood your post then forgive me for getting my feathers ruffled. If I didn't misunderstand, then please post solid evidence that I am not a reliable reference, which I will definitely dispute.

Pat Chandler

Actually Mr. Chandler to some degree I owe you an apology for that one.
If you look at the post I quoted belonging to Ms. Peterson you will see that she quoted Mr. Parsley (pslsnakes) which, when I read your post that I quoted, I mistook for yours given your previous and continuing relationship with Mr. Hurt.
For this mix up of identities, I apologize.

I would still hold though that any partnership with Mr. Hurt, through joint ownership of animals or marriage, brings into question the reliability of the source.

Just wanted to update this.... I did decide to contact Mickey about some animals she has offered for sale. I did not end up purchasing anything (through NO fault of hers), but found her to be very professional, she went out of her way to take extra specific pictures and such for me, and was generally very pleasant to deal with. The animals I saw pics of were all fat and very healthy looking specimens.

She seems to be really trying to make a go of the BP game, and I think she will do a fine job of it...I would not hesitate to make a purchase from her at this point. :)

Tony Hurt

I have done business with Tony before locally in Texas. I bought a regular female that was supposed to be aroung 1000 grams. Paid for the snake and picked her up only to find out when i got home she was more like 650 700. I would stay away with all of the recent threads he has been getting. Especially if he is trying to get his GF to do the dirty work for him.

Andrew,

Perhaps you should have read the WHOLE thread before replying. I was as skeptical as you, but Mickey and Tony are doing business completely separately. His poor dealings need have no ill effect on his ex-wife, Mickey.

That and....if you picked the snake up at his place, you had every opportunity to visually inspect the snake, and request to have it weighed if you were in doubt. If you had received it in a shipment, that would be different, but you had the snake in your hands when the money was exchanged. Not saying that makes anything else he's done right, or less wrong......but if you had doubts, you shouldn't have ever taken the snake home. :shrug01:

For those of you who know Tony and have met me on several occasions, know that snakes have not been my passion, but his; however, I challenge you to think, for more than just a second, that I can, will and am taking on this business.

Wouldn't you rather buy animals from someone who is actually "into" the animals and not just "taking on" a business? You have to have a passion for the animals or you're never going to be able to endure the bad times.

I kinda agree with that. Sorta falls in line with a signature I admire a whole lot...

"Keeping herps is not what you do... it is who you are."

Chris,

I understand what you are saying, and do agree with you as to someone who actually cares about the animals.

My impression is that when Mickey posted that, she was simply defending her ability to run the "business"....from what conversation I have had with her, she IS truly interested in the animals, but acknowledges she is still learning on that end of it.

Take it as you will, it is simply what I got out of talking with her, and after the questions I initially had about her, felt it only fair to post my opinion. :)

I second you on that.

I couldn't be more happy with the snakes I got from Mickey. Hell, they even ate the same day they came in.

That's why I went to her last week with $500 for more snakes.

Thanks to you Cathy and Doug for supporting me here...I am learning the "how to's" (the concrete part of this business)...I do have a strong passion for these and all animals and have what it takes mentally and physically to manage the business. The emotional investment is the abstract that does come naturally for me and I am willing to learn with and from my daily responsibilities.

I realize that it will take time to build my reputation separate from Tony's and am thankful for those of you who have given me the time and the opportunity to do so. This is where that 'perseverance' is needed to be able to handle the bad with the good.

I have a strong respect for all of you who have been breeding and raising reptiles and again, look forward to continuing to learn all that I can!
