My observation over the last year
Lets take this back to around 8 months ago. Kevin Peters called me out of the blue, and asked me if I would like to purchase a Black Mamba from him. It started out being 9', but by the time that everything was ready to go it had shrunk to only 5'. He wanted only $250 for the snake, and he wanted me to send him 1/2 up front with shipping. I told him that was not the way that we did business here at Exotic Gems, and that if he wanted to ship first then we can do business. He told me that the snake was shipped, and I stayed by the phone waiting for Delta to call. Well they never did. I contacted him, and guess what he had problems shipping. We tried to get this snake shipped out for the next week to no avail. Well I dropped that deal, and then he offered me Mojave Rattlesnakes. Well he said that he could produce the 50 that I needed, and again he wanted money. I refused again, and he said that the snakes were shipped, again. Guess what? No call from Delta again. I did not contact this person again, and out of the blue he called trying to sell me 12 Russian Cobras (Naja oxiana). Here's where the story gets really interesting. He told me that they were promised to me, and that he would ship them with no money up front. Only 15 minutes after getting off of the phone with him one of my customers called me up as a reference for Kevin Peters about the Russians???? What the Hell??? He promised them to me, but then gave my name and number out as a reference about the snakes that are already promised to me. Well I told them the truth about him. Just the basics like he has never shipped or produced when he said. You don't use someone as a reference when you don't even do then right. That would be common sence to me. Well like 5 people called me about him for the same reason, and I told them all what I knew from experience. Anyway, I did not hear anything from him until about 1 week ago. He called me up offering me true Australian Death Adders, Common Brown Snakes, Inland Tiapans, Coastal Tiapans, and other various snakes. I told him that I did not want any part of those snakes because that list was not legal. Well he called a friend of mine (Jeremy Bednarsh), and offered him the snakes (see previous post by monacleman). Here is where his left off. He turned the deal over to me. Well I told him that I would meet him in person to get the animals, and then I would pay him in cash. He said that he would meet me at 8:00 pm, and we could check out the animals. Well 11:00 came, and still no Kevin. I called him, and he said that he was driving down Alligator Alley, and decided to stop at a little town on the way. Well anyone that has ever been down Alligator alley knows that there is nothing but fence, 4-lanes, and well, Alligators. He put me off until the next day (Sunday). I waited around for him all day Saturday for him to not show up, so I had to make up the plans on Sunday. I told him Saturday night to meet me at noon on Sunday, and he said OK. I called him at 10:30 to find out where he was, and when he was going to be here to only get his answering machine. He then calls me at 12:45, and asked me where I was because he was coming to me. I told him that he would have to wait in Ft. Myers until I could get back from Miami, and he got quite irate about that. I guess that he did not want to wait on anyone, but the way that I saw it was that I wasted a whole day for him. He could wait a little while. Well he went back to Miami, and waited for my call. When I got home he was supposed to be only 10 minutes away, but was now 3 hours again. Needless to say he never showed up again, and never heard from him. I know that Kevin Peters does exist somewhere out there, but I have to wonder if any of his animals do. I am pretty convinced that he is not even in Florida, and that takes a pretty messed up person to lie to that extent just to screw up someones weekend. He says that he is going to be at Hamburg, PA show this weekend coming up, and I know that there are alot of people that would like to meet him. I would NEVER send this person money, and I strongly suggest anyone that is thinking about it to do the same. I am sorry for taking so long, but now you know how ****** up in the head this person is.
