There's this guy, really really old, like Methusila old.

He and I occasionally knock back a few and when we do, particuarly if it's cold outside, Li Kao, the old man, tells the most amazing stories. There is a slight flaw in Li Kao's character, so these stories are sometimes somewhat hard to believe.......and yet, they seem to be true, nonetheless.

One of them involved some guys passing themselves off as particularly sweet smelling individuals, of course this is metaphore for slimy bastards using paint and polish to appear as IF they were truly good people, and was basically saying, after my horse has stepped in your shit, exposing it to the air and removing the facade, even his hooves smell better for having gotten rid of the rotting putrecense of those who would seem as they are not.

HE ALSO STATED THAT HE WAS NEXT GOING TO PUT ALL THE GECKO BREEDERS OUT OF BUSINESS.

All you have to do is go back and read his psycho thread, its very clear what his intentions are.

I read a lot of his other thread, and the general picture I got was, he was bragging, disrespecting people, rambling on, and using bad grammar to boot. I am just your average run-of-the-mill customer where ball pythons are concerned; however I cannot see how anyone who hopes to have a good business can feel entitled to make such ramblings on a public forum where potential customers may be. He's in it for the money, plain and simple.
Call me insane, but I choose locally to support smaller, sometimmes slightly mor expensive mom-and-pop stores and farmers markets, rather than pour my wallet open at wal-mart. WHY, you ask..? Well, in ten years, when there are NO more smaller, frendlier and more personal stores around.. and there are ALL wal-mart stores.. how nice of a world that'll be, riiiight? Well, don't come crying to me when it happens, in the BP world or in the retail sect.

I have said this in another thread that MKR is going to be the downfall of all small guys like us. Ive talked to some of the others big breeders and they wont give Joe & Wes a dime of their money for the way they talked when they first started into the business, but their money doesnt matter so much anymore especially when those guys repeatedly under-cut anyones attempts on making a buck, they advertise such insanly low prices that the newbie to the game will not pass up the opportunity to pick up a decent co-dom for pennies. But just my 2 cents

I will choose not do do business with them, EVER, based on many things, and not just their obvious price dump of the Mojaves. Joe posts like a little spoiled brat, and I just do not like the arragant nature of his posts. So, either you will do business with them just to get the lowest price you can find, or you won't, for all the obvious reasons. Anyone who will threaten to dump animals to hurt someone under the guise of helping out their customers will not get my business, and will probably get the bottom of the barrel customers who cannot see through the BS.

Dead on! As I posted on another forum and I believe is somewhat relevant:

I don't think anyone has questioned MKR's customer service. Its their business ethics and the coating of slime covering both of them. Its interesting that Wes hasn't spoken up since he is the real brains behind the operation. Anyone can have the wisdom to hire a used car dealer to sell for him (although I certainly wouldn't let one run my PR department!)

I think it's pretty evident that they haven't got a PR department... unless it's another title Steve holds.

I stand by what I had said in the semi-side discussion about the market forces and smart merchandising decisions. Although it seems incongrous that someone sharp enough to read those trends and arrive at that kind of business boosting animal promotion would also be stupid enough to come along and post as has happened here.

Maybe they should look at *getting* someone to handle public relations; good prices, healthy animals reported all around, no shipping mishaps... the only real negative anyone has come up with was that they were trying to push alternative animals on a customer when they were out of the stock the customer was interested in... and that's really not unusual from most breeders and dealers. Looks like a lot of positives that are being damaged by a couple guys who haven't figured out when it is and is not appropriate to be loud mouthed and agressive. No sense of context whatsoever.

Logically... they had all the winning cards in their hand, positive customer service and animal records, well thought out arguments presented for why the price drop and timing was appropriate and their only real opposition was flip-flopping between the mutually exclusive arguments of "I'm doing it because I love the animals, I'm not mass producing scum" and "Waaaaagh! I bought my investment morph the wrong season and it's offspring aren't going to make me a gozillionaire!" To somehow come into a discussion like that... and lose...

Point taken and I will comment he should be aware of the same things, I will appologize for allowing him to make me angry, but the hate fest I began reading lastnight is just so disgusting it's shameful.
I have no real desire to argue P's and Q's with anyone, but give it a rest, not everyone has the same views on the BP market, and like cattle, if someone undersells you too bad, that's business, it happens all the time.
No one body is going to be able to crash the market, the animals are to popular for that, but no one body has a right to try and keep the market unfairly high either.
To all who was offended by my sig, I must say I'm sorry, and on the same note, Ed to you as well.
Just be more professional, if you have a beef, discuss it with the parties involved, don't run to a public forum to bash for no reason other than you disagree.
This post isn't for bashing or opinions by bitter small business guys, it was about, MKR supplying a quality aminal for a fair price, and that they do.
End of post, it could be closed, and all the personal attacking and silliness should be deleted out so the next guy doesn't have to sort through 800 posts to try and get to the bottom line.

I totally agree here. They're flipping ball pythons... the MOST boring boid captive besides sand boas or other similarly small, reclusive animals in captivity. Did any of you stop to realize that the market may be crashing because 85% of other snake keepers think that BPs are retarded, homo, wannabe snakes. If I wanted an albino, xanthic, or whatever you wanna call it, paper weight, I wouldn't spend more than $5 on it. That's exactly where the market is headed now. All those interested already got into BP morphs and has some. No one with a real love for cool and exotic herps really gives a darn about ball pythons. Who wants to spend $1000 or more on one yellow snake, when I've got two bicolor ATBs with 3 times the personality and color of any of those BPs for a quarter of the cost? The prices are down because most snake keepers think that BPs are old hat and lame compared to all the other cool species of snake that you could have with more wild type color than some $30,000 morph BP.
