In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry on bearded pets?

And to think I was banned from KS forum just for being a smarta@#$.

I would think ripping people off would be more serious to them.

Hopefully everyone will catch on to these people, so noone gets scammed. I too think they are some kid's either that they need to go back to school.

punk kids

Someone mentioned how they thought that this appears to be the work of a couple of kids. I have to concur wholeheartedly. Any old schoolers on here will recognize this as being eerily reminescent of the early taron langover scams. The similarities, you ask....

1. Claiming obvious imports as CB
2. Cam always broken/lost/on other comp
3. Typing in all caps
4. Atrocious spelling
5. (my favorite) Legal threats

Now, we know how this will all play out. Some fool from Bearded will comeon and say that her had no clue that this was going on. And all of the dubious posts/scama were the work of some never to be identified partner.

Yes, I despise these guys too! It is people like this-motivated by greed, and lacking in cajones, that is crippling our hobby. Do we have an address? Someone should swing by for a chat with their parents-or the local sheriff.

Sincerely,

Gino 'In Da Bronx' Beniquez

I just did some checking and this person is the same person (or at least one of them is) that was selling 100% het Albino Ball Pythons on Reptibid and did not know anything about genetics nor how to produce 100% hets. Greg you will remember this guy. He is the one that thought if you bred 25% hets together you get 50% hets and then breed those together you get 100% hets. Also these people are advertising a Galpagos Tortoise for sale. It actually looks like they took the picture at someone else's store and then posted it for sale. I sure hope if they truly do have the Tortoises they know the laws on shipping that species and the ramifications if they do not have the required license to do so. I think I might go ahead and send their e-mails to a couple officers I know at the Florida Fish & Wildlife and have them check up on this further. The e-mails I have for these people so far are [email protected] & [email protected]

I know that KS said they can't do anything about what other people sell, but isn't it against their terms of service to have multiple people posting ads on one account? It was my understanding that one person could post only his animals, and they are posting 4 states worth of families' animals. I don't think you can even have a one time ad selling stuff for a buddy under your name. Maybe I am wrong though, I will have to go back and read the TOS.

Yes, we have an address at the beginning of the thread for Elena. I offered to help her prove that she is breeding these by coming by and photographing her facilities with my digital camera because I am nearby. If she wants to preserve her reputation, she'll jump at the offer. I wouldn't bother calling the local PD, though, because they couldn't be bothered to follow up on the JD up the street who was killing cats, so I'm sure they won't give a frog's fart about someone misrepresenting imports as cb/cbb.

Here's their address, so anyone thats interested doesn't have to sort it out through all the e-mails.

Elena Egidi, 2057 Alcovy Trace Way, Lawrenceville, GA, 30045.

Also wondering if this topic can be brought up in KS' "Open Discussion" forum. It might be worth a shot, but my guess is it will more than likely be deleted.

A pair of "CBB of course" 100% Het Albinos

are posted up now...thought I'd move this thread to the top.

one more...

Thanks Troy,

I have also found these scammers selling some 'very friendly, puppy dog tame. pet quality' alligators on KS.

Sincerely,

Gino 'In Da Bronx' Beniquez

Well, I really can't say anything bad about them...

after all they are a FAMILY BUSINESS :)

Anyone notice their add for proven WC Masobes? Interesting how the add talks about how they have been unsuccessful hatching the eggs yet earlier they swore they had CB specimens that they bred...

Chris

i tryd attaching the pic but it is to large to of a file to post. the BOI saves the day once again. i emaild them back asking the exact messuremets of the redfoots, and the ages, and how long they have been captive, and they stoped emailing me back.

suckered

Too late! I have been getting into a few het and poss het balls lately, and I ended up ordering the pair of "het albinos". After I sent the MO, I could not get a reply from Elena, so I sent in a complaint to K.S. The day after that, I finally got a reply. When I got the pythons, they did not match the picture on a guarantee certificate. This was supposedly to guarantee that these were the hets, but since they don't match, I guess it's my word against hers. I never did get any lineage information as promised, so I probably am now the proud owner of two normal balls of unknown origin.
Elena, if you are reading this, you might be able to make it right- prove the lineage or send a refund (sarcastic laugh)

I have been waiting for this to happen...

Michael I am really sorry to hear that these people have ripped you off. I wonder, however, if there is something you can do. You stated that the snakes do not match the pictures on the certificate. If you still have the pictures, as well as your e-mails from Elena, I am curious as to whether or not you can take legal action accusing them at the very least of false advertisement. I am not a snake guy, so I am not sure if there is any way for a buyer to protect them self from a seller who guarantees certain genetics of a snake. I hope others with more experience in this area can give you more help then I have been able to supply you with.

Good Luck,
Steven Hoch

legal issues

Thanks for the suggestion, Steve. I tend to keep emails and such from any transactions I make, but I too quickly emptied these. I did have someone here to see me unseal the shipping box, see the snakes, and only later Did we really see that they were not the ones pictured. I never did try to contact bearded pets since I figured there was nothing I could do, anyway.
I wonder if I was able to scan the photos on their papers and post these if anyone would recognize them. They may or may not want to hit these folks with a copyright infringement or such.
Anyway I know a few lawyers I can hit up for advice, but in the meantime I am just privately telling people I know in the herp hobby/business about my experience, and I know alot of people. In Atlanta. Some are pretty vocal. Chattanooga is not very far from Atlanta either. I wonder if they would be willing to show me their breeders, since they can't seem to send photos of them. I know they can't buy from a breeder and resell that low, so they must be breeding these, right? Yeah, right.
I have been breeding herps for about fifteen years or so, and until now the worst I ever got on a trade or purchase was mite infested animals.
I have a few other legal things to aim at these people too, but I don't want to give it away in public.
