Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Now I am not saying I filed a complaint a while back,maybe, but ifyou have been ripped off,file and send it KS. People like them do not deserve to be a part of the herping community and it is up to people like you and me to make sure they are not.

I know that there have been some recent problems people have had with my company aswell, and I am working to straighten these out however I want people to also keep in mind things like this don't help my situation,
About 2 months ago, Bearded Pets contacted me looking for Red Foot Tortoises, I have a decent contact for them, I got them to confim they would purchase them I came up with the money to purchas ethem, I sent the shipment first and was planning on recevining the payment afterwards...now please keep in mind, there were already some comments posted, particularly my problem with Ray Hunter and Ricky Dubfield of ERJ, so they wern't wiling to pay up front. They gave me many promises and told me they would pay overnighted Cashiers Check upon reciept.
THESE WERE WC RED FOOTS TOO!! So they were selling WC animals....as CB...who would have guessed haha?
Guess what, they finally after weeks and weeks of screaming at them finally sent me $300.00 through western union, nothing more, I am not going to get into what I sold the redfoots for but keep in mind there were 13 animals....lets just say im still about about $1000!!!!
I know this is off topic but just while I am on my rant of exposing people who owe me money I am going to put out the other few names --

Having posted in this thread previously about purchasing two Yellowfoot tortoises from Bearded Pets and one of them way too light, not digesting food and dying I feel I am a part of this ongoing controversy. After my original post and reading Jon's reply on this forum I contacted him again and he said he would replace my tortoise that died. I told him I was not interested in another ill animal and requested that he personally select an animal, have it examined by vet and send me documentation of it's health, pictures of the actual animal, etc. He apologised and said he would send the best, largest and healthiest animal he had. Long story shortened......the animal that arrived was much smaller than he indicated, didn't have any health papers. She looked quite attractive but much smaller than was told. I put her in quarantine. She seemed to have an appetite but I soon saw that what she was eating was passing through completely undigested just like the first one that died. I didn't rush her to the vet because the first one didn't survive even though on daily Baytril injections and Flagyl for protozoans. Well, anyway, here's the email that I sent to him this morning.

I don't want another tortoise but you MUST realize that your tortoises are not well and need attention and you should not be selling them until they get a clear bill of health. The remaining Yellowfoot that arrived with the first one is lethargic also and not feeding. She is also suffering from something. I have kept these girls separated from the get-go from my collection. For that I am relieved because whatever this illness is seems to be contagious. These girls arrived with this condition as my other two Yellowfoot are producing, healthy and I have 7 eggs in the incubator as I key this. Y'all seem to be having a lot of difficulty delivering what you advertise. Please have your herd of Yellowfoot quarantined from any others that might arrive because if not you will be receiving lots of emails like this one. I sent you $650 in good faith that I would receive healthy, gravid, guaranteed animnals. This is not what I received. My vet bills with the first one totaled over $200. and was not successful in bringing about a healing. I would appreciate the return of my investment as I am now out of a lot of money and have lost two animals.

i defended beared pets, earlier on here, now more to the story. bearded pets ordered 5 adult softshells from me, they paid by paypal,
before i could ship, 1 softy excaped, they said just put something in to replace the excapee,looked kind of funny when they asked what kind of mud turtles were in the box
( it was a pair of fla cooters about 8 lbs each)
yesterday, i went to ship , my shipper has a letter from
ups, i was told to ship o their acct. they accepted the shipment, when they were billed, they refused to pay the shipping, ups added 43.00 for rufusel to pay shipping on the bill ,makeing a total of 83.00 billed back to me, when ups del , there acct was on the package, they did not know, when they billed it would not be payed, so now , they have my turtles, and i owe 83.00 fo shipping.

Kane, Now this takes the cake on all of the replies on this forum. I can not believe you actually posted on this forum against me. First off YOU came to ME and told ME that you had red Foot tortoises for sale. I had never heard of your business and asked that the red foot tortoises be shipped COD either overnight or with Delta Dash. You then told me that you could not do that without a small deposit so I had asked if $300 would do. You then immediately agreed and asked me to western union you the money to somewhere in MA rather then in Rhode Island where you had supposedly had a pet store. "I suppose the reason why you had me western union you the payment is becouse with western union I can not receive my money back once processed." So I did as I was told and had expected that you would then ship my Red foots that day as promised. Well they did not get shipped so I called you and I had not got any answers or phone calls back. I left many many messages. I did not receive any tortoises from you, you piece of low life Sh*t. I have all of the emails you sent to me and all of the emails I sent to you. The only excuse you had ever given me about shipping was that the boxes were to large and you had proof. Well you then did not give me any responses to any phone calls or emails after that ridiculous excuse. I am still waiting for my red foots to be sent to me COD and it has been well over a month. I was not going to post on you nor file a fraud complaint with Kingsnake or the FBI. I had just figured you were low life and trash. Well thanks for the reply to this thread because you have just inspired me to get justice for the wrong actions you have committed against me. I will be taking this as far as it can go. I am sure there is a lot of people on MA and RH that would be more then happy to receive your name and address. I have also many different references that I unfortunately heard about you screwing them as well. In fact many Miami importers would not even sell to you or do any business with you because of your disgusting track record. When I had began to type I had also forgot to mention that you had credit cards and paypal on your website but when I asked about that you told me that you no longer except paypal. Most likely because you were kicked off do to fraud complaints. You even gave me an Airborne tracking # to track my package. Well according to that tracking # it was never shipped. When I called Airborne about it they had told me you printed out tons of Airborne labels but never actually shipped them. Anyone with an Airborne account knows that making a label on Airborne with your computer using your account number does not mean a thing unless you actually ship the package. Well this you did not, and as I continue to type I am almost sure you are fraudulently emailing and obtaining money from more innocent people.

Gene, The reason I refused to pay my bill with UPS is that they have over several thousands of dollars in claims that they refuse to pay. I will not pay UPS since they costed me over a few thousand dollars in damages. The claims I put in were not for animals and were justified, UPS did not want to honor them. The refusal to pay was not against you and I do not think they have any right to bill you if you shipped on my account #. I apologize for that inconvenience, If you would please email me if they are still in fact billing you and we can work this out together. I did not purposely do anything against you, and in fact I think that it would be illegal to bill you as you were not the actual shipper according to who in fact wanted to pay for the shipping. I still refuse to pay UPS after what they have already put me through.

Lois, I really can not believe that the second tortoise I sent you died. I have not had any problems with any other tortoises at my facility. Though even with that as a fact I am going to use flagyl immediately and keep them away from any newcomers simply because I want to make sure of this. I know for a fact that the time it took for your replacement tortoise to die was not even close to substantial. It should have taken much longer for this to have happened if in fact it was caused by parasites. The only belief in my mind is that you have something deadly going on at your facility with your torts. I would also isolate your torts and keep them all separate from one another if I was you. I have heard of certain diseases wiping out whole colonies. My torts are all doing fine and I have inspected the facies. And not to my surprise it had no parasites or mucous. I apologize that you are constantly having problems and I also apologize for the first death but the second one I just cant not accept. I have contacted other people that I sold to and they are not having any problems with there torts.

Im sorry, but i have to put my 2cents in. Jon, you said that you inspected the fecies and you saw no parasites? Do you have the equipment at your facility to do that? I am a licened vet tech and I know for a fact that to read a fecal sample, you need a microscope, slides and fecosol. If you can visually see any parasites in the fecies with the naked eye, then those animals have real problems. I really do not like to bad mouth anyone, and I never did business with Bearded Pets, but that statement you made scares me a bit. That says to me that you do not know what you are talking about. Treating reptiles can be an easy task, but it does take time to study and understand what the basic principles of treatment are. After that statement, i do not think I would ever do business with you
