In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Intense Herpetoculture - Any feedback?

Justyn, Holy cripes, man. You have always seemed like a straight shooter to me. What's the deal?

If you are overextended, or having a cash flow problem, or whatever, just be truthful about it. If you take that route, and eventually settle up with these folks, you can still save face.

If you lie to people, that will never go away.

If he offered you a refund by Paypal this evening I would take him up on the offer. Instant transfer only and no pending bank clearance crap. Send him a PM and email now to say you want the refund settled this evening. If he wants his money order back, if it ever arrives which is unlikely, let him send you a pre-paid envelope or tell him to take his copy of the money order to the issuer and cancel it himself. Why the phook should you be saving him time and aggravation when its all he's caused you?

Tell him your sloth ate the money order.

Ounce again I did not get my refund today. I would imagaine something mailed priority on last Sat should get to Va by now. Justyn has told me that he will put the money in my paypal account now. That really should have been done weeks ago like I asked.
This is the email he sent today:

Craig, please let me know if you get the refund today. If you do not I can send it Paypal, or if it is more to your liking via Western Union or Moneygram. I will be out of the house until late tonight, when I return I can handle it how you would like if you did not obtain the money order. All I ask is when you get the money order is you send it back my way ASAP.
Regards,
Justyn

Maybe he should have sent this one instead:
Craig, please let me know when you don't get the refund today. If you do not I can send it through Paypal (if my modem is working), or if it is more to your liking via Carrier pigeon or Candygram. I will be out of the house hiding in a pond with a snorkel from people who are trying to lynch me until late tonight, when I return I can determine how you would like to be swindled when you discover that you did not obtain the non-existant money order. All I ask is when you get the money order is you send it back my way ASAP before you realize that there was no money in my paypal account all along.

The thing is, he told me like 2 weeks ago he didn't want to send me refund through paypal.

Same here, didn't have the money in his account from sending so many refunds out.

He already has lied multiple times, including referencing the alleged money orders in today's emails. He may eventually make things right monetarily, but the time for him to "man up" has passed in my opinion.

Unfortunately, that is the way the situation is shaping up. I just hate to see someone I perceived as a good guy go down in flames.

Justyn,

If you would have been truthful in the beginning, like so many people have asked of you to do, you could have saved yourself the headache. Instead, you want to dance around the subject and publicly tell your customers that they are of no importance to you.

There was a time and place that you could have taken these negative deals and turned them into a positive experience for everyone involved: you, the customer, and the curious bystander who lurks around reading the recently bumped BOI threads. You could have expressed your apologies, issued an immediate refund - or given a decent reason as to why the refund would not be issued (being too busy with a pond business not being one of them). You could have come out of this whole thing better than you were before. We all would see that there was absolutely no risk in doing business with you because we have seen, due to past deals, that if you don't get the animals in we would get an immediate refund.

Instead, you chose to (seemingly) lie about refunds time and time again. Coming from someone who is relatively around your same age give or take 5 years, grow up. It became your obligation to supply the animals or a refund the moment you took a deposit for an animal that you didn't have in your possession. Everyone (including yourself) obviously realizes that.

The delays, lies, and inability to satisfy customers due to your other obligations is what has cost you your reputation and credibility.

Right I understand that. I am also saying that there have been many times when e-mails do not carry the weight in court, if you all were to go that route, as regular mail would.
I can not stress enough that in order to make a solid case in the real world and not just on here is to use regular mail as well. It will take a little time to make copies and cost a few bucks to make sure you get a receipt but it will go a long way if this were to hit the courts.

An easier and cheaper way would be to use a delivery confirmation. In order for the return reciept to work Justyn would have to sign for it. If he doesn't then thats $10 wasted. However delivery confirmation is much quicker , no need for signing since its scanned by the delivery person and it sits on the USPS website for 6 months or longer. Its also less than 2 bucks. it may only work for priority mail tho but for a letter its fairly cheap and great insurance.

As a side note , I use it anytime I send a payment via postal service and had to use it to prove a payment was sent since the reciever overlooked marking it in his records. Works like a charm.

Justyn , at the rate your going your reputation is splashing in the swill at the bottom of a dumpster. Keep it up and you'll be lucky to even sell anything in person at a show. We all get hit with bumps in the road and we hate making the phone calls to explain ourselves but it happens. Being upfront and honest about everything may not make them happy but it does keep a few as return customers since they know if there is a bump in the road you'll still let them know and take care of them. Its all about honesty and trust , the trust your CUSTOMERS put in YOUR hands with THEIR MONEY on YOUR WORD. Time to man up hoss , got time to shoot out PMs to other members then you got time to inform your customers. Plain and simple , anything to the contrary is a crap excuse that has the maximum effective range of 0 meters.

What's Justyn saying now?

I also sent a deposit for snakes to Justyn, from both the Asian and the African shipment. I reasoned that the BOI said he as a good guy (at that point), and that sometimes breeders take deposits for expected offspring. Well, I've certainly learned my lesson on this. Here's the most recent email that Justyn sent me:

Yes they did, things will be settled down later this week, I can ship as soon as Fri.

That's right, yesterday he was still saying he will be sending animals out. I could go on and on about this, but I'll just say it is amazing that he expects me to believe him at this point. I've already posted in this thread, I've emailed him:

Friday, May 11, 2007
Justyn,
Am I getting a refund of the $660 I've paid you,
or getting the snakes? Either is fine, would just like to know, and
know a date by which it will happen.
Cordially,
Andy Via

I'm just astounded that he could believe that he has any credibility at this point. I have no hope of getting the snakes and little hope of recovering my money. It is a shame to have trust in someone repaid with lies and theft.

The time for coddling this guy and asking or telling him to "man up" is long past. Several of you have said that everyone hits bumps in the road along the way, and have expressed to him that it's o.k., just admit to it and be honest in your approach to how the problem will be resolved. Sometimes when these people hit those bumps, you'll get a good and quick idea of their true character, i.e. this Justyn. Hiding his head like an ostrich and maybe the problem will go away by itself; not likely man. You'd better do something because something is going to give with these people and you'll find yourself in court wondering why your assets are all frozen or some of your income is taken from you to pay these people. This problem isn't likely to fix itself, but it will fix you soon, so strap some nuts on and take care of business. Either 1 of 2 things:
1. you really don't plan on paying these people and trying to get away with it.
2.you are hoping to get all the funds at once and pay everyone off and think everything is kosher.

Either way your rep is screwed. I would be surprised if any of these people ever do business with you again whether they get their money/animals or not. They would be fools to do so. Here's a suggestion. Let everyone know that you are going to pay money back individually as you can. Maybe the ones with bigger deposits will be patient if they hear/see that you are at least going down the line and paying 1 person at a time asap rather then hiding behind your b.s. Pop your head out of the sand and get back to reality.

I found that out the hard way a few weeks ago when I wanted to send a money order to someone for something I bought and wanted to make sure it got there. I already had the stamp on the letter and then was told at the counter that to get delivery confirmation I needed to send the letter priority mail - I could not get it by sending it first class. totally wasted that 39C stamp and the dummies at the counter would not count the stamp cost towards the cost for the priority mail and delivery confirmation. One of the new draw backs is that with rates having gone up the other week, in order to send a letter with a money order in it and send it priority mail with delivery confirmation the cost is now around $5.25 or slightly higher.

I would have thought you would have something better to do like maybe get bit by another venomous snake.
Maybe Echis like your buddy.

You know, I think it is really a shame that you are making fun of this unfortunate situation, Keith. I am sure the parties involved do not find it funny at all, including Justyn. His customers are owed a lot of money, and I for one find your behavior here revolting.

I agree. The only thing more revolting are Justyn's lies.

I also agree. The REAL issue here keeps getting buried under all the folly of this sandbox circus. It's not funny. It's not a joke. This is a real situation with real people's hard earned money that was entrusted to Justyn Miller.

Tough Love......

Kelli, This will only make him stronger........Whats wrong with a little
harassing, vulger, intertainment at the expense of others......HaHa.....I don't
expect you to understand.....None the less......Having been both IN and OUT of the Boiling POT.....I prefer OUT. My Wrath is available for export........Which discriminates not! :dgrin:
