• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Intense Herpetoculture - Any feedback?

I don't suppose any of those "lost in the mail" money orders have arrived, have they?

No, they sure haven't, at least nothing here anyway.

So last week I failed a claim on paypal against Justyn Miller. On May 29 I got a email from paypal stating Justyn had refunded about half my money.
Paypal said I would have to wait until they can verify his funds. So this morning I got this from paypal:

Dear Craig Esposito,

The refund sent by Justyn Miller ([email protected]) did not clear through the PayPal system. You have not received funds for this payment in your PayPal balance.

You may want to contact Justyn Miller regarding this refund .

I'm sure that's a major surprise to everyone......

Justyn are you going to ever surface and man up or be a little coward and cry to your mommy. All of us you owe money to are getting really tired of this and we are NOT going to give up, you will lose everything, not just your reptiles. Anyone want to buy a sloth or farm in Bolivia?

Does the farm in Bolivia come with or without workers? Once you have it in your possession let me know; I'll buy it and show mercy by letting His Highness dig ponds there for a banana a day.

It's probably an ant farm, I doubt there is room for a pond, or a banana.

Paypal

I just tried to file a dispute with Paypal for the money I sent Justyn using that. I received the notice "Your seller is currently unable to respond to this dispute." I take that to mean that his account has been cancelled. Anyone know for certain? Once this started I really doubted I'd get the snakes or a refund, but the chances seem even bleaker now.

His account and user access is limited/frozen, not cancelled. That normally happens when disputes are found in favor of a buyer and there is insufficient funds in the sellers paypal account and/or a source of funding, like a bank account, to acquire the funds needed for refunding the buyers. They will make several attempts to hit the sellers account for the funds before they freeze the account. If that is the case for Justyn, the only way he can make refunds through PayPal is to send the balance owed to PayPal for the refunds by mail. Considering he doesn't have the funds to mail out money orders or checks directly to the people he owes, I doubt highly he's going to send PayPal any funds to cover his negative balance as well.

Paypal

Thank you for the clarification. I don't feel any better about the situation, but it's good to know what that meant.

I guess Justyn is using whatever he can to continue selling animals and continue ignoring this situation.

Cool, I just joined that board so as soon as they give me access to post, I'm going to say hello to your buddy. He sure does seem to be making good $ with those snow scorpions he's selling. Sometimes you have to flush 2 or 3 times to make the turds go away.

I joined as well and will be advising all of his potential customers there of the current situation.

Good luck with that, I seem to recall that board deletes posts that discuss outside problems, especially if he is in good with the owner/admin.

That's ok, if 2 potential customers see it, then it's worth it

Why not send the webmaster or admin of the site an email or PM with a link to this thread. Perhaps he may want to avoid a similar slew of complaints happening on his forums and he'll cancel his advertisements pending an outcome of resultion here. Don't know if that would be his approach to the situation but certainly showing the guy respect for his sites rules is a step in the right direction and couldn't hurt. He might advice you of how to word something you intend to post on Justyns ad's without breaking any rules.

Note that ad offered 15% off if paid by PayPal but his account is now locked so it can't even receive funds.

Yes I noticed that too. I just sent an email to board Administrators and told them of the situation.

Kingsnake also just emailed asking if the situation had been resolved, so I guess they are keeping up with it at least.

I will also be calling the Fort Worh Police Dept. when I get home to see what they suggest and see if I need to file a complaint with them or with my local law enforcement. I probably should have done that already, I just didn't want to call while I was at my day job.

This is not something I intend on giving up on. This thread may be 400 pages before it's over.

I just found this while gathering emails for whichever police agency needs them....Justyn asking ME for references because he didn't feel comfortable sending a deposit, of course he never purchased any even after a list of references.......maybe because he knows what he does with them

Just an FYI: Arachnoboards does have their own "BOI" type forum.

http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/forumdisplay.php?f=8

This entire bad situation is just really distressing to me. I am sure though that it is much more distressing to those that are owed refunds. I exchanged a couple of emails with Justyn several days ago and he told me that those that deserved refunds would receive them, but in the next sentence he said that he did state in his ads that deposits were non refundable. I belive he was inferring that customers were clamoring for refunds even though he does have the animals to ship out. I'll post relevent parts of the emails when I have access to my primary computer later today. I am just so sorry this situation happened, but it is very dissapointing that Justyn was dishonest about mailing money orders out to people, that is just wrong. His reputation is in the toilet right now and it is going to be close to impossible for him to get it clean again, but the best start to doing so is for him to be honest, about everything.
