In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Is the Fall From Grace fatal to the Good Guy Certs?

What do you think...?

Bill,

I figured that much, just was not sure if there was more.

See what I get for not reading all the through the Application :) I didnt know that :) guess this will teach me to read every fine line :)

Thats how it reads to me anyway, it has to be at 0 or better and be displayed on the site or be withdrawn. I took that to mean that you haev 30 days to put it on the site and that if you go in the negative and it stays negative for 30 days your cert is withdrawn.

"If at the end of 30 days you are not showing a satisfactory rating (greater or equal then 0) or your website does NOT have the certificate prominently displaying on it, your right to have possession of this certificate will be withdrawn."

This is on the page about it to:

" If at any time, one or both of those rating vehicles drops below zero (0) and you have a negative rating, your permission to display the provided certification banner will be withdrawn and you MUST remove it from your site immediately."

OK now I have a question, from this post its #4 on this page
http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showpost.php?p=236588&postcount=2

Saying that:
"If the results of the poll and/or the Trader Rating associated with your registered member name on FaunaClassifieds.com indicates a negative rating, and investigation by the Admin and/or moderators of FaunaClassifieds cannot determine clear evidence of fraudulent ratings on said poll and Rating, you specifically agree to remove the banner certificate code and/or the certificate banner graphic from your site immediately upon request."

What would be considered fraudulent ratings?

That explains about it on the participants personal site..... I have not read anything on how it effects the display on this site.

I believe that if there was not a rule in place when you signed up saying that in would remain on Fauna for life, then Rich has no right to include that AFTER signing up without giving each and every member the right to withdraw from the program.

ANY rule change that happens AFTER signing up should include the option of withdrawing from the program. One may not have signed up if those rules were in place to begin with.

From what I'm seeing, it's not a debate if it is going to be shown on his website anymore, but if it should still be shown here on Fauna.

I agree, it only says it has to be taken off of your site, nothing says it will be taken off the certificate forum.

I agree with that too, so now Im confused.

Without completely following the situation... the simple answer seems to be: leave him there. Leave all the votes there. Pull the certificate from the server, highlight him in red. When the person in violation gets enough good guy votes to put him back in the positive, the certificate is put back and the red highlight is removed.

Seems that way we keep all the historical data, he has a chance to redeem himself (if he so wishes) but it will take time for him to do so. If he doesn't care anymore, he simply stays red and people can search the BOI to find out why.

This isn't about rights. This is about a certification that has NO relevance if you don't know about fauna. Yet.

We are the pioneers in this and until this is WELL established I think we are sort of in for the long haul whether or not it's all pleasant.

This is something that MUST be VOLUNTEERED for. If you get a dishonorable discharge from the services is THAT not with you forever? There is NO draft here, there is no draft there. It's simply a matter of something that is completely up to each participant.

I still say once in you're in forever, at least your record is.

You side stepped my question, Wes. So I will ask it again.

Did the rules say, before Bill signed up, that it would be here for Life? Or is that being added after the fact?

ANY rule change that happens AFTER signing up should include the option of withdrawing from the program. One may not have signed up if those rules were in place to begin with.

Didn't mean to sidestep.

THIS is a new process and is evolving into what it will eventually become, metamorphing if you will. The process, once started, cannot be stopped. Sort of like a roller coaster; just because it's scary you can't make it stop to let YOU alone off, you're in it till the end.

Also I don't think this is so much of a rule change as it is a new need for another rule.

Who would have thought we would need such at this point in the infancy of this program?

I can only speak for me but I signed up for the long haul, not for an evenings worth of good times. Good or bad I am associated with this program and in order for OTHERS who are STILL in it there must be continiuity as well as consequences for falling below the minimum standards.

I think the banner on a personal website is not the same as a record of your history here. Pull it from the personal website, he has to by the rules, but the record should be here for all time, just like all of our posts.

That is total crap. The infamous 60 foot turd. Allow me to quote YOU, "The rules should be plain and FOLLOWED."

And in this case they sure as hell aint plain, and they sure as hell should not be changed after signing up without the option of leaving the program. You can not define the rules as we go along without giving people the option of leaving the program.

I know this following statement is over the top, but I am saying it to emphasize my point. If you can't leave after you sign up, no mater what rules are changed, then Rich can add a new rule that all GGC members have to send him 10% of all their sales. Wanna quit? Too damn bad!!! PAY ME!!!! Not gonna pay? Then you get a Red Cert for being a bad guy...

ANY rule change that happens AFTER signing up should include the option of withdrawing from the program. One may not have signed up if those rules were in place to begin with.

Perhaps we are saying the same thing in a different way.

Anyone should be free to STOP PARTICIPATING in the program anytime they want.

Their record while IN the program should be here FOREVER.

Bill is the test case but no matter who it was I would say the same.

If that is the rule, and it is made CLEAR before you sign up then yes. But as of right now that is NOT stated in the rules ANYWHERE. To add it after the fact is crap.
