In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It's a ..... ultrasound pics inside!

I had the much anticipated 20 week ultrasound today. Everything looks good, the baby is good and healthy...and is DEFINITELY taking after Dad (what a stinker). The baby was snuggled as far down into my pelvis as it could get the ENTIRE time, so we weren't able to determine sex. :bawling: Oh, does this suck! Now we have to pick out two names, and go gender-neutral with stuff. I won't get another peek until week 36, which is the beginning of September. :bawling: For your enjoyment, I've got pics!

It's amazing how quickly they grow! The baby's foot is the size of the WHOLE baby (head to butt) just 10 weeks ago!

As you can see here, the baby was doing everything possible to keep things a mystery. These are the legs crossed at the knee...NO possible way to see what's between the legs. :hot:

The tech was saying it's unusual to be able to get the whole head and stomach into the same shot, but not a problem for my baby! He/She is curled up as tightly as possible, despite having tons of room to stretch out.

Here's a side view of the baby, it didn't change position for the whole 1/2 hour. I had to draw in the head and body - the nature of ultrasounds makes it hard to get everything into the shot...but we could see by moving back and forth.

Look familiar? My baby was doing the exact same thing, only with legs crossed and arms curled up at the chest!

So....the mystery continues!! I'm sooo frustrated, it was hard enough to wait for today...now I have to wait out the rest of the pregnancy!! At least I'm not the only one gravid in the house!

AAAWwww you got your FOOT pic! Congrats. Bummer on the crossed legs..... I still say It's a Boy!!! :raspberry So another ultrasound? or will they not let you. I know some hospitals will only do one or two, and some insurances don't like to have them done unless needed. :(

Shanti, I glad that everybody is healthy. That is the main point of the ultrasound anyway. Determining the sex is just a extra feature. :raspberry I can't wait for the surprise ending.

Shanti, Those pics are great, the one where you drew on it will probably give me nightmares though, kind of creepy!

Congratulations!

LOL, and what's wrong with that? I wanted to cut down the list of names by 50%, and get a gender-specific theme going on in the nursury. Now I have no clue what to do. I figure if we have to wait til 36 weeks to take a peek again, we'll just wait for the actual delivery.

Side note: The gecko pictured above laid her eggs today!

What great pictures!! Thanks for sharing them with us, Shanti!! :) It would've driven me crazy to not find out the sex - but it does make for a really fun surprise! I love that you got digital images. I have VHS tapes and poor quality printouts from my kids - it wasn't that long ago!

Awesome ultra sound pics!! What a bummer you couldn't determine the sex though. I found out with my first daughter as well as the one on the way and trust me it doesn't lessen the experience the least bit. What a blessing the baby is healthy.
congrats,

congrats on the eggs shanti!! it took 3 ultrasounds before they found out the sex of my baby. I had to have 2 done initially because no one told me to avoid caffeine on my first ultrasound. My baby was all over the place so they couldn't get any measurements. My third one was because I started to leak fluid and they had to make sure everything was ok. It'll be nice surprise.

I'm slowly getting used to the idea. I knew it was possible I wouldn't find out, I just didn't think it would happen to ME! But, I haven't started thinking about names yet...I'm sure that's when I'll get really frusterated.

Shanti,
Glad to see the baby is healthy. When you first found out you were pregnant what was your first gut feeling about the sex of the baby? With both of mine it was like I knew instantly what I was having it was really weird, and I was right both times. Then I realized With boys I had morning sickness through my whole pregnancy and with my daughter I only had it the first 3 months really bad. The doctor told me that was because of the hormone levels. It will be interesting to see what happens with our next child. Anyway, Hopefully s/he will move a little so you can get a glimpse next time. :)

LOL, I really don't look much different from the one I took a few weeks ago. I'll get another one once there's a noticable difference.

hey maybe this is nuts but anyone ever heard about fixing the odds on sex by timing around ovulation?

LOL...you're more or less just nuts. All of those old wives' tales are right....50% of the time.

Actually, there is some science to it. Female sperm lives longer then male sperm.
If you do the deed a few days before ovulation and you end up pregnant, chances are you will have a girl. If you did the baby dance on the day of or day before ovulation then you don't really know. So it is possible to try to have a girl. but not really possible to try to have a boy.

Sorry I'm a dork.

LOL......you need to hang out with women trying to conceive. On thing is certain about trying to get pregnant...uncertainty!! While theoretically possible, in practice it doesn't work any better than wearing boots to bed or standing on your head.
