That's exactly how I read it. It seems to be supported by the fact that someone posted on "Jon's" profile, calling him "Shannon".

Well, the guy has gotten a three day ban because of a string of infractions in this thread. I have also noted that he needs to send me PROOF of his real ID, otherwise there is strong enough suspicion that his identity is false, and that is grounds for him to be removed permanently from this site. I am also strongly tempted to remove this entire thread if he does not provide such proof, under the then assumption that all of his claims are completely anonymous and in violation of the rules of the BOI.

PETA is not a bad idea. At least not for someone like myself who keeps only Legal animals. If I receive an animal that is not allowed, I house it at my budies reptile shop. That's right. Unless someone has something to hide, PETA is never a bad idea. They are Good people. Thanks.

The real question here is, if he sues you and wins, do you have to pay out to his fake alias? The nerve of some people astounds me. There should be some sort of ramifications for threatening a frivolous suit like that. People throw it around way too much as a scare tactic.

He won't sue. They never sue. That's just always the crutch some people fall back on when they're not getting their way. He's already lied about a couple things, I see that as just one more.

Not someone I'd sell to, OR buy from. Can you imagine the customer service you'd get outta that guy if something went wrong? Now if we can just find out who he really is, so we can avoid dealing with that personality as well.

While this is nowhere close to an endorsement of the seller's actions, I feel compelled to at least speak up for his patience in dealing with a racist, condescending person on the level of the OP.

Jamarius, if you are as young as has been supposed on this thread, I think there is certainly hope for you becoming a productive member of the herp world. Do research about how to properly ship reptiles and don't listen to buyers who want to cheap out on postage.

Also, the next time you run into this type of problem, put out a detailed report on exactly what was said from start to finish to prove your case more effectively.

Oh I'm certainly not worried about this "threat". Few people realize what a lawsuit costs, and when the attorney they go to asks for a $10K retainer to just get started, with no guarantees offered, that will be the end of that.

The truly hilarious part is that, had he simply stuck to the facts, he wouldn't have put himself in the position that brought about his little meltdown. The seller was clearly at fault. The OP was his own worst enemy. Talk about wresting defeat from the jaws of victory.

After the accusation of my being "one-sided", I didn't want to be the one to say it. However, all things considered, a 17 year-old managed to conduct himself with a much greater degree of professionalism than someone who claimed to be twice his age. I haven't read anything that leads me to believe the Jamarius is an absolutely lost cause. The OP, on the other hand, set my Spidey Sense atingle from the very beginning, and did nothing but affirm my suspicions with each subsequent post that he made.

Jamarius, it was your own negligence that precipitated this situation, so I think that you do owe "Jon" a refund. Quite a few people in this thread have expressed doubts about your character. Actively taking steps to remedy your mistake, by issuing said refund, would be an excellent first step toward being perceived as someone who can be trusted to stand behind his product/service. Even if you intend to only deal locally, a black-mark on the BOI can very easily hit much closer to home than you seem to believe. The ball's in your court.

The horrific, unimaginable and heart-breaking tragedy in Connecticut is also totally not relevant and should'nt even be mentioned in this thread. It's always sad and maddening when abuse or neglect results in an animal's death. But to compare the two? There's NO freakin' comparison!

Agreed. Jamarius has responded with maturity and acceptance to admit his mistakes. He has exhibited much more patience and tolerance than I would have had I been attacked so personally and with such openly racist insults. He's stated he is open to suggestions and assistance in helping him learn and succeed.

I hope you will listen and learn, Jamarius - you will fare better in the long run than the OP.
