In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

You owe three people money, due to the fact that you didn't hold up your end of an agreement, but you can't refund the cash because you are broke...and you are done with Fauna???

Hell man, Fauna should be done with YOU!!!

You get one of these: :toiletcla

Ok, I'm not taking sides here, but I'm a little confused on something.

Sara, your first post you said that you never got your package containing the rats, it was thrown out by UPS.
This is what their site says:
Date Local Time Activity
08/21/2006 8:45 A.M. THE PACKAGE WAS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH THE DETAILS; ALL MERCHANDISE DISCARDED . UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH DETAILS OF THE DAMAGE

Later posts say that you DID get the package, and so on and so forth. Which is it? Could you please clear this up? Thanks.

Sure seems funny that the moment another person who you were going to ship rodents via UPS illegally pops up, saying that it was your idea to ship that way, suddenly this is a lame website viewed by lame people. Caught in your own lie that you were 'forced' to ship by UPS, that you didn't want to.

What a horrible situation, all around. But I agree, Clarinet is still owed money from an incomplete trade.

From what I read it sounded like there was 2 boxes, one made it and one didn't.

I read the entire thread. For arguments sake, I would hope that someone would volunteer some info about the "illegality" of shipping mammals via UPS. DZOO earlier stated that it was illegal to ship any animals via UPS, which is not true but which may have been a simple misstatement. They later stated it is "illegal to ship mammals", but not as a correction. UPS's policy on animals is fluid according to how I read it, and I did just read the most recent TOS for UPS (Jul 2006). For sure, their policy requires that all containers be labeled as to living contents. But "illegal" would not be the applicable term in any case .... "not allowed" would be. UPS does reserve the right to discard any package deemed unsanitary. I will not argue that you can walk up to a UPS counter and have your animal shipment rejected. But for many of us who have set up accounts with UPS, they knowingly pick up and deliver our animals.

Jim, Mammals, and Birds are covered under more statues than reptiles. Mammals are covered in depth under humane shipment regulations and mammal protection acts more so than any other. People will come running to protect anything with fur.
As you know, UPS does ship many animals. It’s constantly changing what is allowed. At the current time they still allow

* Amphibians (All): Examples: frogs, salamanders, toads
* Crustaceans (All): Examples: crabs, crawfish, lobsters, shrimp
* Fish (All)
* Insects (Limited to beneficial insects only): Examples: bees, butterflies, crickets, lady bugs
* Mollusks (All): Examples: clams, mussels, snails
* Reptiles (Limited to the following):
- Lizards: Examples: chameleons, geckos, iguanas, monitors, flying dragons
- Turtles: freshwater turtles (except: snapping turtles), land tortoises, sea turtles
 Worms (All).

So, you’re in good shape. LOL.

Some animals they don’t allow and are simply against TOS. Others they probably couldn’t allow due to federal regulations and the ability to provide what is required under federal laws. I believe mammals fall under that catogory.

Thanks Dennis. Without going into details, UPS does regularly knowingly ship animals not listed above. While they will almost always refuse any animals not on the list if you just walk up to a counter, they will often accept them once they establish you as their version of a "known shipper". I have also had to read their own TOS to an uninformed UPS employee or two in the past. All in all, they are a very good company. They are my primary shipper. As for actual applicable statutes governing other critters, specifically rodents and birds, I realize it could be a quagmire. Some factors would be differing state and local laws, as well as Federal Statutes, particularly with growing concern about such things as Avian Flu. I believe that shipment of live mice and rats, as well as chicks (the kind with feathers) etc., is still relatively easy with some carriers. However, it would not surprise me that the shippers of such would have to be licensed, again varying my state, as well as conform to specific packaging regimens, and that is where I would most expect to see an illegality.

thanks dennis atleast some trys to help and not down talk you

Look ...if You don't want people to
" not down talk you " you'd had better be able to write the English language and be able to use some words properly in an sentence.
Otherwise we here as a collective group will have no other recourse but to believe you a non-mentally viable human being. :notallthe

Agreed, after having had firsthand experiences.

I have never had any dealings with live mammals and wouldn’t know the extent they would go for a known shipper.

Little man ,just like before your about to bite off more then you can chew.
Be very very carefull.

Christopher,
Better to ridicule him because of what he says, not how he says it. If poor grammer is your measure of being a "non-viable human being", imagine where we would place folks who make such absurd analogies or assign such labels ! I am not a part of your "collective group" either, and I do not know who else here would volunteer to be included. :)

I believe Jim you may be losing focus on why this thread has been aongoing .

Dennis,
Just out of curiosity I will ask my local guy what he sees come through. I would hope that readers here would understand that many of those who ship, such as myself, do not want to look a gift-horse in the mouth when it comes to having a good shipping relationship with a carrier. By that, I mean that folks who are set up to ship animals not on that list do not want to rock the boat.

Christopher,
Its bad enough when two folks come here with a pissing contest and just trade insults back and forth, and/or post pages of more insults from emails, PM's, etc. I do not look favorably on how James in NC handled all of this. But when someone such as yourself states this:

.......you'd had better be able to write the English language and be able to use some words properly in an sentence. Otherwise we here as a collective group will have no other recourse but to believe you a non-mentally viable human being ....

Since when does Chriss66 speak for the collective group ? As for grammer, etc, maybe you could explain these exerpts from your posts:

I believe Jim you may be losing focus on why this thread has been aongoing

What? Or here:

Little man ,just like before your about to bite off more then you can chew.

The highlighted word should be "you're", not "your".
