I would be pissed to. Then again this is Michigan so it does not surprise me at all that they did not even bother to do more than glance at it.
"Getting" pissed Dave? I been there for a while now which is why I sorta backed off from posting in this thread.
Todays law enforcement agencies just don't seem to give a crap unless its something that will get them publicized as heros.

Nonetheless, I will not let this go, and I will continue to pursue this until I know these two answer for what they have done!
I just received this:
Steve,
Is this the same thing that you received?
STATE OF MICHIGAN
DEPARTMENT OF ATTORNEY GENERAL
P.O. BOX 30213
LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909
MIKE COX
ATTORNEY GENERAL
November 04, 2010
Refer to AG No.: 2010-0028349-A Mr. David C. Gruning

Dear Mr. Gruning:
RE: Jeff &Christina Wise
Thank you for your recent Internet fraud complaint. Since these complaints involve criminals working on a national and often international basis, we ask citizens to also provide information to the federal government's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) – a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National White Collar Crime Center, and the Bureau of Justice Assistance. Although the information you have may suggest the criminal is situated or has a connection in a specific location (for instance provides a name and address or a website address) our experience teaches us this information is fake or is the unauthorized use of the name or address of a real but innocent person or business.
Unless IC3 determines your complaint has a specific Michigan connection, further investigation on our part is not a prudent use of State resources. We do, however, review every complaint and consider whether we need to update our public education material to help proactively reach consumers and prevent future victimization.
IC3's mission is to serve as a vehicle to receive such complaints and to further research, develop, and when appropriate to refer criminal or civil complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. If IC3 determines the activity involves criminals or a business acting in Michigan, our office is notified.
So please consider helping to stop this activity by completing the complaint form at www.ic3.gov. You will be asked to provide the following information:
Your name
Your mailing address
Your telephone number
The name, address, telephone number, and web address, if available, of the individual or organization you believe defrauded or attempted to defraud you.
Specific details on how, why, and when you believe you were defrauded.
Any other relevant information you believe is necessary to support your complaint.
Once your complaint is processed by the IC3, you will be sent an email containing your complaint id and password to use for future contact with the IC3.
Again, thank you for taking time to report this activity.
Sincerely yours,
Michigan Department of Attorney General

Well I guess I'll give getting a hold of a human a shot too.
Dave,
That's not the same letter I received...so much for all the idiot proof information that has already been provided.![]()
They didn't even bother to read what I sent to them. Believe it or not I was able to speak with a human. How useful that will be is yet to be seen. I was told that I was the only complaint then I gave them Steve's name and they were oh yeah, that person was asked for more info. I then told her that the info I provided was the info requested from Steve. Obviously they didn't bother to read the cover sheet explaining this. So much for making it idiot proof. They didn't even bother to read what I sent to them.
I was told they would review what I sent with a supervisor (who's name I did get) and they would get back to me. If not, I will hunt down the supervisor and then find out who the supervisor's supervisor is and go from there.
Rick, hadn't you made a complaint to the Attorney General too?

Guys, I totally understand and will take whatever hits I need to for cursing...........but it needed to be said, but please don't ban me..........if you do, i understand though!! Sorry...............again, love to you all from all of us

If it's just cursing Maggie...you'd have to do a whole bunch of that, even after being warned, to accumulate enough points for a ban.
Thanks for stopping by. Glad to see you popping in, even if it is under these circumstances.
Did she happen to leave an indication as to where they are at? A new phone number, or mention of a city/state they are living in, some sort of contact info? Any little tidbit like that might help to track them down when the law finally does decide to do their job.
Rick
