Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Jeff and Christina Wise (Wise Reptiles) Stole Money from Benefit Auctions for Maggie

I can't believe what these two have pulled. Christina sent me a facebook friend request right after I joined here. I accepted her request.

I am a member on the Diaper website where she posted the triplet picture and was trying to scam people. I feel terrible because I think she may have followed a link on my facebook page to that site. I was selling one of my mei tai baby carriers and posted it on my facebook wall. Shortly after that was when she popped up there with the triplet pic. :(

She dropped me from facebook right after that.

I sincerely hope they are caught and go to jail for a very long time!
 
I'm still rather astounded that their friend thinks it's okay that they took an 80%+ "commission" in his mind off the auctions. I mean.. it's one thing ot know there's scammers that steal people's money.. but the third party just blithely saying it's just fine and that the people trying to make things right, and the victims of the scam are going to be in big trouble for.. I guess for trying to get the money to go to the rightful person it was collected for.... it just.. I dunno, boggles the mind.

It's almost easier to think that Jeff pretended to be a third party than to think there's at least 3 of them all together with such immoral beliefs.

Maggie, hope you are hanging in there. As a widow, it can be a terribly confusing and upsetting time. I'm thinking about you.

That said, so was my claim against them :( So... Next step is to talk to my bank. The first donation of $500 was using an automatic transfer using my debit card, the second donation of $1075 was an electronic check from my bank account... anyone have any hints on how to get the bank to work with me after all this time so I can go in prepared?

I'd make sure to have copies and webpages to provide proof especially of their auction totals (link below) and to this thread too. Copies of individual pages like where Christina admits to doctoring the check and the like will help too.

I'd also make a complaint with your local police. It may not be an easy task but it will help out if you do make a report and get a complaint number.

I'd also make a IC3 complaint as well, Can't seem to find that link at the moment.

Any info you get from any of those places please make sure to get me any and all information so i can add it to my collection of info. All info is just another nail in their coffins and I am going to bring it, the hammer of justice and with which I will nail these two to the wall.

I am so disgusted & sick to my stomach right not I can't believe that they could do something so dishonest & wrong & not care about what they did or who they hurt. To steal from a widowed woman & her children is dispicable & down right unforgivable. What ever happened to principal & being honest & doing something for someone out of the goodness of you heart?? It is soooo very sad that people can be that greedy all in the name of $$$ & not care about anything else. It just makes believing & trusting in people harder because people like the Wises that are that dishonest & looking to scam someone out of their money or make a buck don't care about anyone else but themselves. I also feel it not only makes themselves look bad which is should because what they did was down right WRONG but at the sametime I feel it also ruins it for the good guys too & in some way shape or form it has a negative impact on our community. Especially now with everything going on with the snake ban they are trying to pass every little thing that goes wrong in the reptile world/community just puts more fuel on the fire in my opinion for those in favor of passing the ban, because it gives them more of a reason to pass it or atleast make our community look bad & irresponsible. I personally believe there are more important things our country should be worrying about/focusing on & doing something about rather then to slam the reptile community with banning snakes, but that's just my opinion. Sorry I got a little off topic just expressing how I feel. I also wanted to add I think its too bad that everyone who donated or bought snakes from them can't get together & sue them together or atleast I think it would be pretty great if someone would file a small claims court claim with Judge Judy because I am a betting woman & would bet she would make them look like total dumb a$$es by the time she got through with them. I think it would be hilarious & they deserve it. I also think with her viewer ratings all over the world that they would
 
NEVER be able to scam another person. I think it would also be a good way to get their name out there because of what they did again just my opinion...lol :). I am sure their name is getting around but you better believe if they were to be in court on a show where millions watch from all over the world their name would out & they would be disgraced for the rest of their existance. All in all I hope everyone that donated & bought snakes thinking they were doing something for a good cause end up getting the justice they seek & deserve even if it isn't in small claims court through Judge Judy. I also hope The Wises get what they deserve & not only have to pay back what they stole from everyone but double or triple that & to give it to who it was intended for. I also hope they go to jail for a really really longtime & that they NEVER have another oppertunity to do what they did again. Well that's my two cents worth takecare & hope you are able to get the justice you seek a deserve.

Judge Judy and the like would be alright if your only goal is to publicly berate and humiliate them. Those shows have no power beyond that. The losers on those shows don't pay any money out of pocket. The show's producers pay all the monies awarded one way or the other. That's how they get folks on there in the first place...not because they think they can win, but because they know when they lose, they don't have to actually pay, but the debt will be settled for them.

If the goal is to yank that stolen money back out of their grubby little fists, then going through the real courts is the only way to get it. Sue in civil courts...or get fines and penalties levied through criminal courts.

If all of those attempts fail because the police and court systems are too overwhelmed by murder and mayhem to pay attention to a crime worth only a few thousand dollars (a situation I believe the thieves are betting on).....THEN maybe one or more of our victims might be lucky enough to get the case heard on Judge Judy or a similar TV court show.

I'm wondering, what's happening? What are all the police saying? I know the claim against Maggie's paypal was reversed, but other than that, any more news? Any updates?

Unfortunately, our tax dollars don't include speedy service. :rolleyes:

IC3 has to get all the info, review the info from each complaint filed, and forward that info to the appropriate agency. In this case, that will be the Flint PD. I doubt, except for any phone calls made to them, that they are even fully aware of it yet.

It's pretty hard to make a complaint over the phone too. But a personal visit to PD in Flint, MI. is scheduled for the very near future. With evidence for several cases in tow. :yesnod:

I realize that the wheels of justice are a little slow. I'm just hoping that these two get it where the sun don't shine. I hope it's deep and hurts! ;)

I'm keeping all of you that are pursuing this, as well as Maggie and her family in my thoughts!

On the other hand, scammers are everywhere and I think how the fauna family has come together over this, to not let it go, to see that justice is done for a widow and her children (and a grieving father) is a real feather in the cap of the reptile community as a whole and likely to make herpers be seen as upstanding decent citizens. Way to go, all you Fauna Heroes!! :hurray::hurray::hurray::hurray:

As JudyC said, this needs to be heard in a legitimate court of law where there are real consequences, but it would make a nice complement to their prior appearance on Jerry Springer. :rolleyes:
 
I didn't have the time to read through all 188 pages at this point, LOL... I am proud to have joined a community where SCUM is NOT tolerated. I did not know Maggie's family, but my heart goes out to them. I will be sure to spread the word locally here to my herp friends, as well as at shows. I wonder if they will show their faces in herp community gatherings anymore?

I am sorry this happened, and I just have to say I hope the Wise couple gets what they deserve...

Okay folks I need all you who have not yet made your IC3 complaint to do so (here is the link again http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx) and get me those case numbers. Also, I need all of you go to your local Police as well and make complaints there and get me those case numbers too. The more who do it the better the chance of giving these two what they deserve. The more complaints we gather the deeper I can go when I give it to them. :dgrin: So I am requesting anyone who donated and item or an animal or anyone who bid and won an auction to please make the IC3 complaint and to go to your local Police and make a report (push to make a report as some may not want to bother, make them without spending the weekend there). You all have shown support for Maggie and Rich by donating or purchasing the donated items and I am asking for you to continue to support them by making those complaints. Please make those complaints and get me any pertinent information so I can have it all in one place for any who need it. Again, please make those complaints, each and every one of you and get me your information.
