In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The one where someone with the login name "Red Devil" and location of Louisiana says the G-stripe is his snake?

Do you really think that is a good identifier of who owns the G-stripe?

An actually name and/or business name that he uses is what is needed to be disclosed.

Bleh, "actually"="actual".

But I have to wonder what kind of person would think "okay this is a good idea to send my snake over to a friends to breed even tho she has lost snakes left and right to some unknown virus."

I think someone needs to read the time line of events. Their was no virus suspected until after the Stripe was in her possession.

But what I've read is that she brought a snake from a guy named Wyatt that was sick. Soooo was it Wyatt's snake that was sick or was is this RedDevil guy's Stripe.... or is the RedDevil guy really Wyatt? I'm confused! I've read and heard all kinds of different things in the way to many pages.

RedDevil (aka Tommy Benasco per her web site) is the owner of the Stripe. That snake was not sent sick, nor is it showing any symptoms of the virus at this time.

Damien Wyatt (aka TW International) sold her the sick het Clown female who is the originator of the virus.

Her journal has all of the information listed in order of when it happened.

Jen,

First and foremost, let me tell you how truly sorry I am that things have gone so badly, both in with your animals and your personal issues - last I talked to you, I really thought things were looking up on both fronts.

I think that when bad things happen, sometimes we don't necesarily think as clearly as we should sometimes, and lord knows you've had a lifetime's worth of bad things going on in the last year or so. I really think you need to step back and rethink selling these racks...lord knows there's perhaps people out there who could make themselves see past the possible implications of this virus out of their own greed and buy them, but certainly there is no way of knowing if you can truly deem them safe. Even with everything you have tried, you couldn't eradicate the virus - now it seems that a simple dose of bleach is the answer to making certain it's not carried by the racks? I know I surely wouldn't feel confident in such a decision, and I can't imagine how I would feel if I found out that down the road, the virus had been spread to someone else's collection because of selling the racks to them, and they ended up going through the same heartbreak of watching their animals die. Or, they may see then start to die, then quick-like sell the animals off, spreading it even further. I couldn't take that chance, not only for the sake of everyone else's animals, but for the sake of my own sanity as well.

And I do have to address the issue with the G stripe as well....this person taking him back to be "just a pet for his kid brother" is ludicrous at best. If the animal was a carrier, how is he to know that he couldn't be bringing infection back to his collection any time he goes to his brother's? Or his kid brother comes to his house? I really can't believe anyone with an ounce of common sense would take that chance.

After all this I really can't believe that you are trying to sell your racks. You trusted your vet that this vaccine for some other disease would work - it didn't, and now you are putting other people's animals at risk on the word of the same person. Some viruses are much much harder to kill in the environment than others. Can you say with 100% certainty that you know how long this virus will remain infectious in the environment and that you can properly disinfect every inch of every surface of your racks?

Before you euthanize your collection, have you considered contacting Dr. Jacobson about whether there would be any interest on his part in taking any, if not all, of the snakes for research? It was mentioned earlier that this may be a different virus, and having live specimens may give him a better handle on how the disease is transmitted, how long the virus sticks around in the environment, what kind of incubation period it has, etc. That way, it's possible that something good may still come out of this.

So this genetic striped animal was in her possession prior to September 29, 2007 (the date according to this Journal that other snakes started showing signs of distress) ?

There's alot of info here and I must have missed that somewhere. Can anyone point me to it?

in response to Aprils post, I would also think to contact another vet, than rely on the one currently.

Dr Jacobson is not her vet, he's the one in Florida that her vet was in contact with and one of the top researchers in reptile medicine. He has spent over 30 years in this field with a focus on infectious diseases and would have the best resources and background to study this. Why would you not rely on him?

Maybe because he's refusing to provide information to her? :shrug01:
I believe information about that is written both here and in her journal.
