    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

His name is Damian Wyatt -- he goes by his last name. He used to own TW International in Dallas, TX. His girlfriend goes by the name Kris. They are selling snakes over on KS last time I checked.

And I got this response today from Mike Ogburn, one of Wyatt's other victims:

However I have had no major monetary losses just the deal with watching animals that seemed to be healthy pass. The biggest loss was the $650 snake who I had bought from Wyatt. At this point I am just going to work with my carpet pythons, bredls and Womas and just watch the balls that are still left. Hopefully the balls will selectively wean themselves out. As of right now seems like everybody is healthy. But I thought this before as I had written in the past. Hope things go well for you and I hope you nail this guy. Later Mike

He had already lost 2 snakes, plus these 4, so that makes 6 total (including the original carrier he got he bought from Wyatt).
 
The deed is done. I froze every snake I own tonight -- save for Spoon, my original ball python, and my pair of Carlsbad stripe baby kingsnakes for my daughter. Everything else is dead -- all of my ball pythons (morphs, normals, adults, and babies alike), all of my kingsnakes, and both my cornsnakes. The only 3 left in the snake room are the g-stripe I have to ship back to his owner tomorrow, and the 2 snakes I am giving to Dr. Gordon to have euthanized and have tissue samples removed for further research. My racks are empty, the tubs emptied and stacked, and everything else thrown out for trash pickup. Took me 6 hours tonight, start to finish. My mom and dad stayed here to keep Zoe busy while I got it all done. I took these pictures as proof for those that need it -- if this isn't good enough, well, there's not much else I can do. The snakes are being burned out at my grandma's as I type this; my dad took them with him and is taking care of it because God knows I can't watch that after what I just had to do. I don't know what else to say. I have a headache, I already threw up, and I am going to bed.

Jen, I knew this was coming but now that it's done I am at a loss for words. I don't think anyone can truthfully say how they would handle this until it happens to them. Hopefully you can take solace in the fact that you've saved the herp community from a good deal of grief and that legacy may live on with the results of the testing. Hope your future is great.
 
Jen, I can't tell you how profoundly sorry I am for you and your snakes. Simply heartbreaking.

I respectfully disagree. She has not saved the herping community from anything but her small part in it.

As long as these people (below) are out there and not on Fauna so that they also can be hounded into exterminating their animals, no one that buys BPs is safe.

With all of the disrespect I can possibly muster, I must say that you are one of the biggest idiots I have ever came across in my life. Go torture and slaughter some more helpless animals and STFU. You make me sick.
 
She's right though. Until Wyatt stops selling snakes, or until the other people who purchased from him around the same time I did (including the two other victims of this virus) are identified and their collections closed off/euthanized, no one is safe. Or until the research goes further into what this virus is and if/how it can possibly be stopped.

You have taken one beating after another, some of it self inflicted and some of it completely unnecessary and unfounded, yet you just keep getting back on your feet ready to take more heat. All in all I am very proud of you.

I am glad you have the ability to look the other way when morons like Deb come along, but I dont. She is a complete idiot that has done nothing but use the herp world for her own gain and actually has the gull to try and minimize what you have done. Truly pathetic.

Jen, do you think any of them would be willing to come on here and share their stories after what you went though?

Are they perhaps waiting to let the disease run its course and then assume that their collection was clean (not realizing that it is possible that the disease could be dormant) and then resumed selling?

Jen I'm truly sorry for what you had to go through :( I know it had to be done. I can only hope things will be get easier for you down the road =)

As for you others on here:

Wyatt people Wyatt focus this negative power between us into something useful and stop this guy!!!! No one is safe Really!!! He could be selling to anyone of us is future sellers who we end up buying from. As honest as Jen has been. Not everyone is going to be as honest and say "oh yeah 3 years ago I bought from Wyatt" Don't let this slip away and forget about it. The source of the virus is still SELLING. It has the potential to possily end up in anyone of us is home who is buying snakes right now.

Mike already has, in Wyatt's thread. Jason won't, as he has never been a member of any forums. He says he never has time. But that is why I relay what he tells me with his permission -- because it needs to get out there. As for any other victims that haven't come forward yet -- odds are, they won't. They'll try to continue on and squeeze every penny out of it that they can before the inevitable happens. The scary thing is that no one has any idea how many others there may be out there going through exactly this situation -- snakes dying of incurable viral RI's, brought in by snakes they purchased from Wyatt. There is no way to know how many Wyatt had to begin with, how many he sold, to whom, and to where. I do not wish this on ANYONE -- but odds are, it's going to happen again.

As for what Jason and Mike are doing -- based on our conversations, Jason feels that he had quarantined it fast enough upon noticing symptoms in the first two snakes to prevent it from spreading to his other animals. I told him that he still needs to continue watching them, and for quite a long period of time. Considering that he is a vet, I would hope he realizes the seriousness of the situation and continues to keep his collection closed. Mike seems to be waiting for all infected snakes to "weed themselves out" based on his e-mail that I posted above, and judges the asymptomatic snakes as being "healthy" (the mistake I made). What I don't think he realizes is that we don't know if this virus can jump species and affect other boids, colubrids, etc, and that is very well may be carried without symptoms since it may be related to IBD. He says he wants to continue working with his other pythons that he has, but there's no guarantee they're safe at all. That's why I put down everything -- because there was no guarantee. None of my kings or corns ever showed anything at all, but it didn't matter at this point. I have tried to tell him the same -- but I don't really know how much he understands nor cares.

Sammy, I'm so numb right now. I can't even begin to tell you.
 
That is the saddest thing I've ever seen. I can't imagine what it must have been like. I'm so, so sorry for your ordeal. I thought you were going to keep Lucky too?

I hope everyone else that has this thing in their collection realizes what a serious situation it is. Mike seems kinda like he is just going to keep selling everything but his BPs-but what if other boids are carriers too? It makes me scared to buy anything, from anyone.

How many people would even know this sickness EXISTED if it weren't for everything Jen has done? How much testing would people be doing on it? How many people would see this sickness come into their collection, pass it off as a bad RI and go on as usual, before reading this thread....and now would think twice before selling the rest of the clutch while this one is sick?

What Jen has done and suffered here has had an effect on the ENTIRE REPTILE COMMUNITY, to minimize it the way you have is nothing short of a slap in the face. We ALL owe her a debt of gratitude. ALL.

Yes, people still need to be going after Wyatt and anyone else selling these animals (cripes, how many times has that been said in this thread - go after WYATT!)....but that does not in any conceivable way minimize the amount of thanks we ALL owe to Jen for everything she has done.

What the hell are you thinking? NO ONE has even hinted here that any of "the others" get off "scott free"....NO ONE. Again, how many times have we said, "If you want to blame someone, blame WYATT"??? Accusing Sammy of having anything but honorable intentions is insane. Thick skinned or not, some of the statements you have made here are just flat out stupid and offensive.
