Inquiry Jerry Boyd, JerryBoyd88, in "Woodstock, IL"

It's not odd... I believe his job address is a 7 minute drive from that abandon house... I can only assume that he isn't able to flip his animals as himself so easily,so,in comes Jerry. He has intentionally tried to mislead future customers @ least 3 times.

No, I meant "odd" as in "there's no way that's coincidence". If you were talking about my post, that is.

FWIW, I don't feel that the IP match makes it 100% certain they are the same person, in this case. In fact, before the pictures started getting posted, I was telling Deborah that I thought she jumped the gun in making that connection & linking the threads. I've not been following this thread closely since people started posting comparison pictures, so I can't comment on any of that.
"Jerry Boyd" certainly threw up enough red flags on his own, and instead of making a legitimate attempt to clear things up, he ran away. Dav K is on the right track, IMO...and that is where I planned on taking it when I started this thread.

*I'm not saying they AREN'T the same person, just that that particular IP match didn't click as an answer for me.

This can be debated back and fourth. In my opinion there are plenty of honest people out there for me not to have to think twice about dealing with anyone who has a questionable rep. I tried to email "Jerry" and meet in person and nothing. There is enough proof here for me to keep looking. There is too many one in a million coincedences to believe for a minute that either one of these sellers is honest.

Let's not forget the fact that Jerry lives in Il BUT he just happens to be moving into the SAME neighborhood as the guy who owned the snakes that Jerry is selling.

Is Michael H. the same IP as Jerry Boyd?

One IP has been confirmd per post #124 in this thread

And to deduce from what he stated shortly after that post is that he sold a mojobee to one person Louisiana, and the bumblebee to another in Alabama, or maybe i got them 2 mixed up. I think he sold them in August if I remember his classifieds correctly, and then in a span of a month and a half or so those 2 people sold those same exact animals to the same exact guy (Jerry) in Illinois. While Jerry told me they were purchased off the of Rusty balls table at the Daytona Expo. The Daytona expo was 8/21-22. And now "Jerry" wants to sell them again after just getting them 2 months ago?

How many times can u flip a mojo spider amongst flippers? If they are all legit ppl then Micheal must have sold it for 200- 300, the guy in Louisiana must have sold it for 300-400 and Jerry BOUGHT A MOJO SPIDER FOR 300-400 DOLLARS OFF THE TABLE AT THE BIGGEST REPTILE BREEDERS EXPO IN THE NATION?!?!?!

COME ON!!!!!

Thats the only way it seems mathmatically possible to keep selling this snake like it has been explained, or else this serpent is just a bad investment all around and is losing all its owners alot of money (which I highly doubt its the snakes fault).

What more do u need to know?

And now hes posting his "scammer specials?" Not a good title to attract customers IMO

I know ur reading this Micheal, just pack ur racks and give away ur snakes, because I highly doubt you'll get much business from anyone lucky enough to view this site.

Exactly! Which is why I'm gonna stick to the ppl that are known from now on!

here's some of the "coincidences" between Michael Harshbarger & Jerry Boyd--

Michael wanted any other type of payment than paypal,UNLESS, I paid the transaction fees
Jerry didn't want any payment that would cost him money

Michael-Listed animals as Sold because of flood of emails
Jerry-Listed animals as Sold because of flood of emails

Jerry references- Kick/Bell/Wolfe
Michael references- Kick/Bell/Wolfe

Michael lives/works in Pass Christian Ms
Jerry is moving to Pass Christian Ms.

Michael sells mojobee & bee to DIFFERENT BREEDERS
Jerry is trying to sell multiple animals that were Michael's
This is what I can come up with off the top of my head...

What a bunch of malarky....the guy is shady....I don't think it really should take 25 pages of posts to figure that out. Move on down the line, folks!

I see what is being said, and it in some way makes sense. There are so called clues, but as mentioned as well not one bit of proof.

Red flags, sure. But as this is America, Michael is offering a comfortable way to buy from him so he can build a rep that has been ripped apart by accusations that could be or could not be true.

So since this guy is offering a 100% safe way to buy under the circumstances that the buyer keeps the transactions public to build his rep I for one am going to decline from joining the lynch mob.

I'm not at all saying that Michael is a good guy but he hasn't been proven a bad guy and there's nothing to lose in the deal but will likely gain a great looking animal.

Not to mention if I recall he as well posted a drivers license photo with an animal. Not 100% proof that he's not a scammer, but nor are all the "gut feeling" proof that he is.

So anyway I'm going to go ahead with a deal with Michael and I'll keep the BOI updated. And it's just a suggestion but maybe we should stick to facts until more facts pop up.

This isn't a "Michael" thread, but FWIW, he was shown to be selling animals that were not in his possession (and admitted to same). He's got his own issues, regardless of whether there is anything more than a circumstantial relationship to "Jerry".

was it ever actually proved that Michael and Jerry are the same person? I'm not saying they are, or aren't, but I missed the post where the proof was, though I think I remember something about similar IP's? :shrug01:

My logic works this way: I draw conclusions based on factual evidence. There were two ways that the connection could be drawn...either they were the same person or working together (it could have simply been an attempt by Michael to bypass the mess he created but I tend to distrust anyone that uses subterfuge.)
The evidence currently at my and your disposal, if you should want to peruse it instead of waiting for others to connect the dots for you, was in the beginning the IP address, then the pictures in the ads, the locality, difficulty from both to get pictures of the animals within a reasonable time-frame, Jerry's hiding his picture on something as public as a drivers license, sending pictures to personal emails instead of posting them (how many of us actually do comparisons of pictures or check to see if they were stolen?)
Could I be wrong? Of course! We need Laura for the kind of detective work some want.

Sure support him so he can buy new high end animals we havent seen pics of yet to scam with...:bandhead0

And im not sure where u get the term "gut feeling proof", which I assume u mean as circumstantial. See gut feeling proof would be the posts saying that he refused local deals via phone and/or people didnt like the way he presented himself to him. I think the IP addys, the same animals in pics, the same typing style, Jerry conviently moving 7 mins away form Micheal, and the bull :censored: stories is enough hard evidence for me.

Its horrible when ppl see everything in front of them, and still wanna give him the benefit of the doubt. Which means whatever money he makes he'll use to make another scam. A better one than this one.

:toiletcla

I think he should be banned. JMO

There were three accounts that had posted from that same IP address - can anybody that is convinced that Jerry and Michael are one & the same explain why they picked that match vs the 3rd one that IP came back to....or even the other match that was present?

I picked the Micheal/Jerry match for reasons I just stated, same animals, same typing style, and one was conviently moving "next door" to the other.
The reason I didnt pick the others was because I believe one was already banned and the other wasnt an active member.

Jerry and Micheal just have WAY too much in common IMO.

I am not pc literate by any means, but when looking at this I assume they all used their phone off a wifi connection. Possibly a starbucks or sumthin. So why would Jerry who lives in IL, use the same cellular server as Micheal in MS? To many coincidental connections for me.

And how I elminated ransnakeman was that he deals mostly with hots, and hes been here since 2003. IF he was a scammer I think he prolly woulda try to make a move a few years ago.

I did search for the Snakelove1983 profile but the members list claim them as being nonexistant, so I couldnt due much research on them.

Looking at this IP address I would assume that this is being used as a proxy. I checked out FDCservers.net and it looks like they are a hosting company not a local ISP. Also an "eggdrop" is a bot that is used on irc servers, these bots have a proxy function. "IRC friendly network" is quoted on the site also.

With all that being said, I would assume that this IP is simply being used to hide there real location.

Yes, one member was recently banned - but that's as good a reason to look closer at that connection as it is to shift to a different one. Michael also has 4 different IP addresses that match to other members. My point is that, as Rich pointed out when he posted that info, it isn't always a clear cut thing...especially when you only have a piece of the puzzle.

I do agree that "Jerry" and Michael having pictures of the same animals is convincing - in fact, it stopped me in mid sentence when I was talking to Deborah about the connection. Dustin is right, in that we don't have PROOF that they are the same person; but I don't know that I would disregard significant circumstantial evidence. Michael's latest sales effort is probably simply the recognition that it is the only way he will get sales here; and it's a good plan. He's no longer hiding the fact that he's flipping animals; hopefully, he's no longer trying to sell them at the same time as somebody else (in other words, before he has them). A customer isn't likely to get screwed on an animal that he has in hand before making payment...the question is, how comfortable should people be about giving a trader rating or reference, given everything that has transpired?
