My Experience with Jerry Detweiler

Since I recently started working on my taxes, I figured I'd share my one experience buying from Jerry with the BOI. How does it relate to taxes, well bare with me on this one

I purchased what was supposed to be a 100% het for Kahl Albino Boa (breedable according to Jerry) last winter (early 2003). I had never done business with Jerry, but he was recommended to me by someone out here in N.California who also no longer does business or his website for him (Ectothermz). I received a boa (after many delays) via Delta Dash at the SF Airport. Due to the time of the pickup (almost midnight), and the fact it was sent freight collect, I made the cardinal sin of not opening it there (box), but instead simply tossing it into my vehicle.

To make a long story short, this animal turned out to have mites/ticks a respiratory infection as well as a cloacal infection. It was quarantined immediately (as verifed by Justin Higgs), and two months later despite applying as much care as I could to it (including Subcutaneous injections), died.

How does this relate to taxes ? Well here is the receipt for the boa that I just recently got around to looking at ... First thing that struck me is the receipt is made out to Kurk Decker (I have no idea who Kurk is, or why my receipt is made out to him). For the kicker, read the guarantee I got

I am NOT, nor have ever been JERRY DETWILER.

I deal mostly with amphibs and inverts.
I don't even personaly know Mr. Detwiler. Unfortunatly, I happen to have the same first name and live in the same area.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD use his full name when referring to him instead of Jerry! This thread has crept it's way into my business.

JD is a deadbeat

He still owes me. I still got his "rubber check"He's not contacted me.......I don't think he ever will. I just hope that new people to this hobby will do searches on poteintial buyer & sellers.
IMO......Jerry Detwiler will always be out their ripping people off until the police step in & take action.
I filed internet fraud on him.
The most disturbing thing bout Jerry is, When he was setting me up. my mother was in bad health,now deseased. He'd call EVERY single morning and say, " Hey Dave, Hows your Mom doing?" "I hope your holding up, I've been praying for you & your Mon" "If there's ANYTHING I can do.....just let me know"
So he played me & earned my trust & "internet frienndship" to play me!
I'll be the 1st to admit when my Mom was dying,it was nice to have someone to talk to & vent, BUT he used my mom's health to work his con job on me! His actions truley make me extremely angry!
On top off that, when I 1st posted on him, He replied I was an alcoholic & used drugs & a defence! Jerry Detwiler has never even met me
All in all, to shorten the story...........
he sent me bad checks
agreed to pay shipping bills.......never did
sent me mixed sex animals....more than one
sent me sick animals......beyond treatmentsent me dead animals
WAY over charged me
If anyone knows how to or has contacted the athorities inVA,PLEASE send me the link of addy
I've stated how he's done me before,hopefully someone unaware of him that's thinnking of doing business with him, will read this & not get ripped off

Jerry Detwiler of Canopy Creations has now been evicted from his house. He is now staying with his mother. I called there and asked for him and his mother told me she had no idea where Jerry was living. About a hour later I had a friend call his mothers house and had him ask about one of Jerry's motorcycles(he has been trying to sell them). Jerry's mom told him that Jerry was living there. She has been fibbing to me tellling me she has no idea where her son is. I know quite a few people are trying to track him down. This is where Jerry is at:

I just hung up the phone with Jerry Detwiler. He said it is because of me that he was kicked off of Kingsnake and I have ruined him. Jerry stated he use to live in California and visits here often to see family and the next time he is here he is going to "take care of me and I do not mean by money!!!" He said he knows where I live and would have no problem finding me. I guess I should take this as a threat.

Should you also take this as "what goes around comes around", since you told me you sent a friend of yours to leave a threat note on Rick Miller's door for the het albino ball pythons you bought from him, which came with mites???
