Jerry Detwiler Canopy Creations BAD GUY!!!!!!

Everyone out there is going to love this!!!!!! At the begining of this thread Mr. Detwiler posted a picture that he stated was the boa he sent me and that it was breeding. Guess what, the owner of THAT albino called me and told me that was NOT the boa I had. Actually both of the boas in the picture are MALES.


Mr. Detwiler states at one point the reason the boa was sick was becuase I was feeding live, yet in another breath he claims I starved him to death. Remember this boa was in my posession for two months. Do you really think a healthy boa could get that skinny in two months. Mr. Detwiler had the boa for 5 months.

Mr. Detwiler has yet to send me pictures of the boa dead as he claimed he would. Is the boa really dead???? He claimed it was twice the size as when I had it. Maybe he sold it to someone else for more money.

Breeder of DH Sunglow

I asked Jerry about who bred the animal. I didn't recognize the name so sorry it didn't stick in my mind. Jerry said it was a good friend of his that lived about 12 miles away from him and said if I had any doubt about the genetics he'd personally guarantee the animal. He also indicated there would be full documentation provided but it will never get that far now. The dh sunglow was only posted at Kingsnake for a short while.
This thread can't be helping Jerry. I don't understand why he doesn't ante up and take care of this situation with Michael. Oh yeah, it's going to cost him money. Only problem is it never really should have become HIS money in my eyes.

Michael, just wondering where this comment came from? Am I reading correctly that the original albino you received was too large to breed to a normal female in September?

When I called Jerry and asked him about the "OTHER" adult male albino he posted, he said it was much larger than the one he sent me thefore it was more money. The original was a SKINNY albino boa but Mr. Detwiler said he had another LARGER male albino. He told me the other male albino that he was selling for $3000(but ended up getting $5000 according to him) was WAY TO LARGE to breed my female who was about 21 lb. I asked him to send me the larger male albino as I was planning on getting a 35 lb. female. At that time he said he sold the boa for $5000. I paid for a 100% healthy boa so I thought he could just send the other male albino.

I stand corrected......

That albino he posted in the picture was in fact
a female with a male hypo as you can see by the size of the hypo. They
weren't both males. Neither was a boa I received from him.

do you have any emails from Jerry after he received the snake back that might show how the situation went from him sending you a refund when it was returned, to you agreeing to let him get the snake healthy before sending it back to you, etc.? I had asked Jerry to post all the emails, as he indicated he had them all saved, but I haven't seen them. It might be helpful if you post all the relevant ones that you have up to the point that the snake died.

I talked to Jerry on the phone after he received the boa back. He said a friend of his worked for the Smithsonian and he could bring him back to health. I told him verbally on the phone I would take the boa back instead of a refund ONLY if it was 100% healthy.

Here are a couple of emails from Mr. Detwiler. After these emails he said he was 100% healthy and ready to go.

Earlier in the post Mr. Detwiler posted a picture of what he claimed was the MALE albino boa just before he sent him to me. As you can see on his OWN wesite ( http://www.canopycreations.com/report_3.htm) the picture he posted was of a female albino. His web site says "Courting between hypo male and albino female". Mr. Detwiler has yet to contact me.

Still have not heard from him

Jerry called me on 1/26/04 and said he would refund my money just as soon as he received money from a guy names Joe that lives in New York who purchased his DH for Sunglow boas. Jerry received the money OVER a month ago and still has not returned my money and will not return any of my phone calls. Apparently Jerry has also been kicked off Kingsnake.com because of so many complaints.

JERRY DETWILER of CANOPY CREATIONS is a complete scam and con Artist. I inquired on a DH sunglow boa he had offered for sale. He sent photos and guaranteed me that it is 100% in good health and genetic. He then kept calling to see when we ere going to send him the funds. On March, 02, 2004 I sent him $1500 next day delivery with FedEx and he promised to call back with the shipping info. It's now March, 11, 2004 and I have not heard anything from him. I am furious with this guy and will not stand by and let him rip me off. His local police have been contacted and we are going through with charging him for mail fraud and anything else I could. I've got every document and proof of the Money order I sent and the FedEx receipt. I've Emailed and called him several times daily and still he has not replied to me. So he has left me with no choice but to proceed with charging him.
Anyone else has any experience with this Jerry? Or any advice would be greatly appreciated. I just went through a terrible fire that wiped out my collection and I'm trying my best to rebuild my collection back. The last thing I need is a crook/scam guy like this to come along and scams me!! Man I am MAD!!! Jerry Believe me! I will get to you! Even if I have to do it MY OWN WAY
P.S. We do not need guys like this in our hobby!! Also I can supply any info and proof about this deal that this idiot scammed me if anyone wants it.

I'm sorry you were ripped off but as you can see by my post on 1/21/04 in this thread I was interested in the same animal. After reading about Jerry I declined and by the sound of it I was very lucky to have done so. I assume you didn't look here for any information regarding Jerry or Canopy Creations because there certainly was enough posted. All throughout the early part of this thread Jerry insisted all was fine which is all part of the game. Good luck with your claim.
 
Yes, Iam kicking myself for not checking on here on Jerry. From now on, I will check these forums for ANBODY I choose to deal with. But for now, I'm gonna concentrate on Jerry and he will pay.

He took me for quiet a chuck! There's a thread I started "Jerry Detwiler,con artist of the year"This has not been resent...but ALL 100% true.
He took me for thousands! He sent me a bad check. Agreed to pay S&H.......didn't.

All in all he ended up with my best lookng breeder Hog Isle's a trio of adult BRB (which woudn't beed cause he mixed sexed em)
He got me for a beautiful GTP that was so tame,he could be hand feed!

So, after ripping me a new one,he doesn't answer my calls or mails. I beleive he's been kicked off one of the well know site for his actions.

I hope you get a chance to read the thread I started,not tomention ALL the threads that came to follow mine.

He used my mothers death for an excuse to call me everyday "checking"on me. He was like, "I'm there for you bro" BUT when I posted how he scammed me,he started posting I was an alc oholic,drug addict..ect. Please keep in mind I've never meet Jerry. He was just doing what polititions do, A MUD SLINGING CAMPAIN"

NOW, if I had a drug ploblem,which I don't, what would this have to do with mine & Jerry's business deals or should I say "The Detwiler Sting"

I to have filed charges,but haven't heard anything. Speaking of charges,Jerry posted the F.B.I. came into his home,confinscated his computer cause I e mailed him wanting my money. So his last words to me,months ago,he was taking me with a lawsiut!
