    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Jesse. Youre going to take heat for this, regardless of if the transaction is done or not.

I realize its probably frustrating, but you messed up pretty bad not too long ago....and now you want to show others that you have changed your ways. many people are going to look at that with a skeptics eye, just take it for what it is, and lesson learned. Its a rough road, but if you are as good as you say now, in time, this thread will go away, and maybe we shall see some good guy threads. Give it time. Dont get mad. just keep your cool.

You've fessed up to deliberately trying to short someone $$ at the expense of the snake. Yes you've refunded it now, that's a start, but it's hard to say why from here. So take your BOI licks.
Personally I'm on the fence: even in someone fairly young I don't believe morals sprout in just a year. At a guess you've just realized the negative impact bad deals can cause, and are now seeking to keep your rep good. Which is better than the alternative, but it raises the question of what you would do if you thought you could get away with it. On the other hand, I do believe people still in their teens can change a lot more, a lot faster, than older folks. So maybe you are a good guy through and through, or will be. The only thing that will prove that you are now a good guy is time and good transactions.

So, take your lumps, be patient, and work on showing you've changed if you really have. Building a good rep takes time. Building a good rep after you've done shady things in the past takes even longer.
I would strongly advise you to be honest even in little things, like the fauna age setting. If you "don't know how the fauna feels about younger members", why not ask rather than fib right off the bat? No it's not a huge deal to list online ages accurately, if you're not selling online anyway, but it's a good habit.
 
And I would bet some of the people making remarks are not so perfect either.We all make mistakes growing up ,you owned up to what you did ,thats a plus ,now show everyone who you really are.

I understand that you were pleased with your (recent) transaction with Jesse, and there are a lot of people willing to give him the benefit of some doubt....but those people want to see honesty. Declaring this thread closed, and stating that he never lied about his age (he just posted a different one in his profile because he didn't know if he would be allowed if he told the truth :ack2: ) are not getting him there.

Dunno if that was aimed at me, but I'll say I ain't no saint (I'm laaaazyyyy) but I don't steal and never have, unless you count the occasional pen I forget I'm holding on to :p I also have always sought to make anyone buying stuff from me happy, and yes, that included when I was 16 and younger (that was mostly art tho).
 
I have delt with alot of teens in my years,one thing you can count on with them is they say and do things that most times is desructive to them and the people around them.So what you do is you stop:deadhorse and wait to see what he dose next if he continues to lie and say things that are not indearing himself to this comunity then . You have the power to remove him if so.

You've patted him on the back enough. We get it, you love the kid. By the same token, we are allowed to question things. Vehemently telling us to basically shut up could end up hurting your business. No, I am not perfect. BUT. I would never lie, cheat, or steal. And honestly I don't appreciate being generally lumped in with the likes of Mr. Wisecup.

He has no feedback, even though he says many deals have gone well. He flips animals faster than Ed Clark, yet says he's in this for the love of the animals. He's admittedly done a lot of business with a known scammer, yet when he had an opportunity to help bring this guy to terms for a recent wrong he did nothing but laugh and give us the 'just a kid' line. You can't play like a man when it suits you, then expect people to be happy when you hide behind momma's dress when it doesn't.

I too agree that the only reason the OP probably got their money back was because Jesse realizes now the herp community isn't so large and he's gotta have someone to buy those flipped animals. He continues to have a crappy, disrespectful attitude despite the need to be nice to get over something like this.

Try just shy of a week ago. See the transaction didn't end until the money was paid back. What is so difficult to understand about this? Try having someone rip you off and then say "Oh, but the transaction is over now that I got mine" ?

I'm sorry to say, but you are going to have a long row to hoe on this one. You can't just make a bad deal, fix (?) it a year later and expect it to be forgotten. As you have come to find out, THAT'S what the BOI is all about. Hard lesson, huh?

There are a few things I think you need to learn if you have ANY intention of staying in this business and not turning into another laughing stock.

1.) Reputation is not something you can build overnight. It takes MANY positive transactions to start building a good reputation but ONLY 1 negative one in order to destroy it completely.

2.) Honesty is more important than you realize. If you are caught in a single lie, people are not going to believe ANYTHING you say. If you're a liar, you're a liar, plain and simple. Minuscule lies such as age, only make more important things you say considerably less credible.

3.) Maturity and professionalism are required. You OBVIOUSLY lack both in that you're willing to steal and ACT like a child when attempting to conduct business. (and THIS is part of business, whether you like it or not)
The fact that you ARE a child does not mean you NEED to act like one.

From the start of this thread (and pretty much everything else I've seen you post), you've done pretty much nothing but damage your own reputation.
You cannot just will a problem to cease, you have 2 options.
Face it head on, and resolve it. Or, ignore it, and allow your reputation and future be determined by others.

Stop hiding behind the "I'm just a kid" excuse along with your 12 year old mentality, and resolve the problems you've brought upon yourself.
