In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Don't know where to put this but everyone steer clear of Jim H on here seems like a loose cannon. I replied to one of his ads that seemed a little unclear to me (it was late when i responded LOL) and this is what I got check out the link he was being a real jerk......unless he was drunk or something or his kid hopped on the computer...here is the link:

http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/pp_classifieds/showproduct.php?product=8014&sort=1&cat=11&page=1

And I am not trying to be a whiner (well maybe a little LOL) but just figure people should look out for this guy cause if this is how he responds to an inquiry imagine what he would do to an actual buyer..

I would not buy anything from that person after seeing that lovely little display of immaturity. All he had to do is write one simple word, and that word is, EACH. That would have ended the discussion. Instead he chose to be a total jerk and show his true colors for all of us to see. Thanks for the warning Ryan.

Im not defending him in the least
I think he thought you were attacking him with your sig line
He probably thought you were with the Spelling Police
Perhaps he should go back to school then and learn how not to be such a dumba$$.

What an arse

If he learned how to use capitalization and punctuation in the proper places, then maybe you wouldn't have had to inquire. I can see where you got confused, the last bit looks like one big sentence. I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's probably a scam anyway!

I agree. And asking whether or not they are priced each or for the pair when it clearly states price for each may of added to his frustration and the response given. I have exchanged e-mails with this guy and he may be having some frustration due to him having to sell some really nice animals to fix his car......Still no excuse, Jim should have responded in a nicer manner.

The ad was clear, his typing was lazy (converting simple three letter words into one letter abbreviations is pure laziness in my opinion), and he clearly took your signature line to be directed at him. Having said that, he overreacted and his responses were totally out of line.

Someone ought to let him know about this thread and that he can defend himself (or preferrably apologize) for free by asking Rich permission to do so.

Agreed.

Agreed.

I have no problem with him responding.... But what is there to defend? 1) He was drunk 2) Pissed off 3) Wasnt him but someone messing with his account

None of these scenarios are becoming a professional. Now if an apology was posted then maybe. But he could very well post an apology there. I am sure it would make its way here.

Absolutely agree.

Even the guilty are entitled to a defense. Most of the time it digs the hole deeper. Sometimes it's an explanation ("I was drunk"), or an excuse ("you pushed my buttons and you deserved it"). Sometimes it's an explanation and an apology ("I was drunk and I am sorry").

Whatever it is, an accusation has been made and he is entitled to present his side. Whether anyone gives two hoots or a holler as to what he says, he still has a right to say it.

IF he has an advert here, doesn't he have the membership level necessary to be able to post in the BOI without Rich's permission?

And yes, it's clear that he thought the signerature was a blatant attack without cause from the spelling police.

04 MALE 03 FEMALE EAST BAY VIVARIUM RED GROUP BOAS,BUY THE PAIR AND SAVE.i have no problem splitting them up.they r 350 each pic 3 is the female

His advertisement is quite difficult to follow. He says buy them both and save, says "they" are $350... followed by "each pic".... or is that $350 each? How does that lend itself to "buying the pair and saving"? Since it isn't clear a potential buyer asked a simple: "is it $350 each or for the pair" and without genuine provocation was told to go F-himself.

A higher level of maturity is necessary if you wish to be able to sell animals. Perhaps, if he is needing to sell the animals due to some emergency, there is that part of him that doesn't want to sell them so he is sabotaging his own sale?

Even if Ryan was talking crap about him that's no way to respond, especially in the place you are trying to make a name for yourself and do business. That type of behavior is a turn off to most even if he was provoked. Sucks, such a nice snake and right in my backyard. Alas, I'd rather ship in garbage from 3000 miles away then deal with that type of individual.

I just e-mailed Jim letting him know of this thread. Let's relax on this guy until he gets here. Maybe he has had a rough couple of weeks and he has an explanation for the rude behavior.

No matter what the circumstances that's no way to treat someone who asks a simple question even if he mistook the sig line to be directed at him.

He could have just ignored "the spelling police comment" answered the question, maybe even changed his ad to make the price more obvious and went on with his life.

I amazes me that someone would shoot themselves in the foot by making nasty comments in his own ad where other buyers can see it. At the very least it shows a complete lack of self control and common sense...sure makes you wonder how this guy would act if there was a real problem with an actual transaction.

I hope comes here to apologize and not make excuses. Everyone makes mistakes...the important thing is to learn from them.
