I met Jodi at the KC show 3 or 4 (maybe 5?) years ago. We didn't know each other from Adam. Regardless, I caught sight of some nice animals at his table. They were low dollar animals, but Jodi spent an awful lot of time answering my questions. I ended up buying them, and they've done beautifully for me.

I apologize for perhaps skipping a few pages of this thread, and this topic may be covered, however I saw those dead geckos and was compelled to express that not a one of those geckos died from lack of a cool pack. Those geckos died from a disease.

I have kept hundreds of geckos and examined them to the bone dozens if not hundreds of times with a microscope and that organ failure you view with their dark abdomens is clotted blood from organ failure as a result from bacteria and parasites which did not initiate in the shipping container due to temperature. Yes, the heat overwhelmed them caused their death, however their overall thin appearance is not lack of food, its lack of appropriate medical attention.

I could explain more, however the parasite that eventually gets these geckos does not seem to overwhelm the gecko until it reaches this stage in growth. Even little guys get it and grow slow but eventually they all die.

I believe those geckos suffered from an illness that is not curable.

However such, it is nice to know that the buyer will get a refund, however the seller needs to either fess up to the fact that he is aware of problems in his collection or else he is gonna pass crap off to kill other people's collections.

In my personal opinion, the seller knew they were sick and he knew that shipping them in the heat would kill them. And that is why he did not include a cool pack.

Jodi admitted he made a mistake. Matt has accepted his offer of a refund and more deals could be in the works. But here comes Danny boy with his expert (cough,choke,hack) veterinarian opinion. Telling us how those geckos died.

Next time you choose to grab a mag, take a seat and something goes plop splash. Don't assume it's a DVM. But since your so good at learning from those pictures. I suggest you go sit back down and look at that mag again. You might develop a brain cell.

Jodi was tactically nuked from the beginning by those pictures. With Robin and Kelli throwing in their experiences, he was doomed.

I really don't think we need to get into autopsies. Maybe we should let Jodi make financial amends as he has offered and pick up the pieces as best he can? Unless there is something more sinister about him? He just seemed to me to be your average guy going about his business on the leopard gecko forum before today.

I was cleaning the driveway from fireworks while I left this online but I really do not have much else to contribute on this thread.

I stand by my observations and I think it is great that there are other people out there that have an opposite opinion as that only leads to more investigation into these matters.

Earlier I think I stated that I believe the poor geckos died in shipping, so whoever sidetracked that I did not know this is should read my post again.

I personally cannot comment on what Jim said as he threatened to kill me and he threatened harm to my family. As such, I cannot comment until legal matters are taken care of. I hope you understand.

Yeah, for what it's worth (because this thread passed ridiculous about 10 miles back...) I purchased a group (11) of leopard geckos from Jodi about a month ago. They were packaged well, and arrived in great shape. Heck, they're still looking good, and growing like weeds. I took a random sample from about half of them, and all had negative fecals. None of the geckos were thin for their age, blah blah blah, etc.

Oh, and I don't think I've EVER seen a dead lizard whose stomach hasn't turned dark like in the photo.

I'm not saying anything else except that I'm sorry the geckos perished.

Oh wait, I want to add that I don't like UPS (at least in my area) because every time that I've received a reptile through them that I am SUPPOSED to sign for, they leave it on the porch, ring the bell, and then run away. There's enough neighborhood kids that do that...
