Info Joe Bryant (Fastz28) use caution!

I have dealt with Greg, and can vouch for his credibility. I do not doubt his claim in the least.

Greg, is there a way to find out if the 5 lbs. was the billed weight, or actual weight? Usually, as I'm sure you know, packages are not only billed by size, but also by dimension. Even if the box was empty, there is the chance it was billed as a 5 lb package. See what you can do to find out if there is an actual weight on file.

Deja vu moment: Joe, that is one of the absolute worst shipping jobs I have ever seen, that is, if you actually shipped something.

Joe has not offered anything to back himself up and now seems to be avoiding this thread....leads me to believe he either scammed his customer or simply does not care

Joe owes an immediate refund

Agreed... come on Joe.... send the refund.

Its possible this thread could haunt you if you dont.... as it stands now... you have the opportunity to make it right.

Under FedEx tracking info it lists the package as 5lbs, but that may very well be the weight he entered in, not sure.
I began this post to show Joe what happened and hear it from more than me the problems with his shipping methods (and to get refunded for a snake that never arrived). I am hoping he will do the right thing. If so I will be on here letting everyone know that he has made good on this. Thus far he has not returned my phone calls or contacted me in any other form other than the text I posted earlier.

Here ya go

Hey, Greg, try and contact Fedex to see whether or not there is a way for them to let you know the exact actual weight. I don't think I've ever shipped anything that was an even weight, and if they tell you it was the billed weight based on the size, they may also have the actual weight on record.

Weight: Weight is displayed in both lbs. and kg. The conversion rate is 1 lb. = 0.4536 kg or 1kg = 2.2046 lbs. And the rounding is done in 99.9 format.
so says FedEx

wow. to the good bryan (greg), im sorry this happened to you. i just shipped out an 8 foot snake on monday. i went to fedex, they said they didnt ship reptiles anymore (i used to ship through them). i went through shipyourreptile and they use ups. so i paid for the shipping and went to the ups store, and they said their policy is, they will not ship live cold-blooded animals without heatpacks, because of the temperature of the high altitude the plain reaches in the air. i will say it, i think he still has the snake and is trying to blame the shipping company. if it is never truly resolved, the shipping company takes the blame, he gets his money, greg may get some reimbursement from shipping company, and he "gets his name cleared" and still has the snake. the perfect plan.

of course, i am well knows as the right wing extremist conspiracy theorist also.
but, i have a strong feeling im right on about this.

There wont be any reimbursement from FedEx... they dont insure live animals.... and an escape (if it happend) is not covered by them.

understood. so, am i still missing something. fedex specifically told me they do no longer ship live reptiles. is that a per state regulation or nationwide.
because if what they told me is true, then it was shipped under the table.

dunno.... but if they quit shipping.. then they just destroyed the reptile industry. I dont see UPS as a viable shipper....since you have to ship via SYR or be lucky enough to be grandfathered in.

I had not heard that Ryan. Did you take it to a FedEx/Kinkos? Those are often independently owned franchises and can have their own policies.
Still no refund.

Personal opinon from me, it doesn't really look like there was a snake in that bag. The twist ties wouldn't have held the bag shut on a 5 ft python anyway, which might be how it pushed the "opening" in the bag, IF there was a snake.

My bet is there is no snake, and he packed it deliberately poorly so there could be a 'escaped' claim. But since there is no insuring of live animals, there will be no insurance paid. I hope you get your money back.

No snake was ever shipped.
This guy ripped you off.
He is scum.
End of story.

I cant even see how he hopes for an escape claim. There is nothing that fedex did wrong in this situaion to facilitate an escape claim.

i dont foresee you getting a refund from this guy greg. i was inquiring because i went to two different fedex shipping centers and was told that the policy was no further shipping of live reptiles. now, they didnt specify if it was a particular location policy or a fedex policy.
i always preferred fedex. this was the first i have ever shipped anything ups. it went fine, but i have had a few incidents with receiving stuff by ups before.
nevertheless, everything happened just to conveniently from the joe. im not buyin anything he is sayin. he has given nothing but short, non-informative answers (when he has answered). im betting we will be seeing that snake offered again, from that guy later on, under a different name

oh, and i agree with kevin, fedex did nothing wrong to even warrant an escape claim. i think that was the naiveness and hope of the shipper, that he thought he could have his cake and eat it too. as my original post here, he didnt ship anyting but a box, paper, and wrapping or whatever it was he sent
