Al, just trying to have a little fun with you. you posted a pic of a average at best spider ball and called it the BEST spider ball ever. false advertising in my eyes, and I posted 2 of my average spiders that blew yours out of the water. Big mistake on my part to do that, and I told you so and said Im sorry. I thought you were a big enought man to accept that. I was wrong.

Jerry Springer Show... A rerun

Wes I can't believe that is took to post #62 for you to comment. You must be getting slow in your old age.lol Anyway ladies and gentlemen again we have the "Jerry Springer Reptile Forum" Show. Facts misrepresented and people jumping in outside the participants (audience particicpation like the Springer show). Then when itall comes out we have apologies and retractions. Come on we have to get better. Why is that "Bad" thread go on for days and the "good" thread last a few posts. Because people don't watch TV and buy newspapers for "little puppy stories." Since these issues are private between a few people take care of them by PM or direct emails. Now we have an individual who's reputation has been marred (Al) and another who used bad judgement and hurt his own (Joey). All for the entertainment of others. Lets try and use this BOI for information that is TRUE. So I ask to please get all the facts right before we post and take it from there. I am not a big poster but I do read all the threads and I get tired of reading B. S. that has to be apologized later. Our Moderator, in a previous thread, said he was getting tired of this kind of stuff but yet it keeps happening. Although I have not dealt with alot of you people I have dealt with some and have nothing but good things to say so far. Hopefully I will never have to post a bad thread but I'm sure it may happen. The one transaction that happened that wasn't the best the individual and I took care of it through other avenues. Let this thread die and lets move on to the next crisis. Keep family, friends, swearing and personal vendettas out of it. This is a place where some people try to do business

Ummmmm, perhaps it has not occured to you but not everyone reads every thread every day and until ed stepped over that line again, I had nothing to say. It's not an uncommon thing. It's also not a thing I feel the need to comment upon nor ask anyones permission for.

This IS a great forum because when someone does something stupid. like ed did here, you'll occasionally get a voice that is not otherwise involved in the thread, making a point.

Al is a great guy with great snakes. ed's snakes are on par, from what I know but ed's lack of tact and obvious dig at Al was WAY out of line here and I felt it to the degree that I felt impelled to speak up.

I was informed, succinct, and truly disappointed.

It's a darn shame if you missed the point of my post, but I'll lose no sleep over your lacks.

You see, some of us have been here for a loooooooooong time and sometimes when we, I in this instance, see a wrong to someone I KNOW does not deserve it, we, I, will speak up and say so and sometimes the fact that we, I, had no other posts in the thread lends both weight and credence to the comment we, I made.

All in a days work over here on good ole Fauna! Why... it wouldnt be fauna without all of the BS, Swindling, Namecalling, Mudslinging, Hypocritcal, Bandwagony fun now would it!?

Anyway... These threads are good for helping to show peoples true colors. Lets weed out the junk!! right guys and gals? Isnt that what this place is for!?

Of course good guy threads are short and sweeet, theres not much interesting in em. Things gotta have meat to em.. something people can sink their teeth into, and then get food poisoning later!

Wes if you can't see the credence in my post then you aren't as smart as I mistook you for. Wes get down off your high horse and stop trying to save us underlings. No one asked you to carry the torch or the title of The great Protector of all that is bad in the reptile world. Stop throwing that torch in and fueling the fire. I don't believe either of the individuals asked for your support so stop sticking you nose into something that is of no concern to you. All I asked was for posters to use better judgement before posting things they have to apologize and retract later. There is enough of that out there before we have people coming in here to say things and sit back and watch the fireworks. I am not going to get into a pissing match with you over this. You seem to be a very knowledgeable person but I think people sometimes post just to get there post count up and replace there daily viewing of "All My Children" by stirring up crap in here. If you so desire you and I can continue to banter back and forth but what are we really contributing to the issue at hand (the entertainment of others).

I Agree to that,
Somtimes it IS hard when both parties are feeling Ripped off by the other, and tempers rise. Things are said, that probably shouldnt have been said, as per usual when these sorts of threads come about. Theyre harsh, they damage not only your ego, but your name as well. Most truly good guys though, can recover from posts like this and move on with their lives and work hard not to see another post like it!

its not just facts that are wrong, but it almost always boils down to a misunderstanding in the end. People get wrong information( Read: vague), and make silly assumptions and go from there. Being angry just fuels that fire and usually rationality just dissapears!

What makes this place so great, is that.. when those who have the Guts to apologize.. when they are truly wrong about somone or a position they took, they do, and usually truly mean it when they say "sorry... i got you all wrong" or "sorry i didnt really mean to say things like that".
of course Some dont care, but at that point why even think about them. Boo hoo, sorry theyre too proud to admit to wrongdoing. ( helping to explain what everyone means about ones true colors.... it all comes out in the end)

Its hard online, things are typed up in a flurry of anger ( most Bad Guy posts are) and people dont just step back and read what theyve written several times before posting. (somtimes its confusing though you should see some of my posts somtimes!!! LOL)

I would actually consider this post fairly good, as it turned out in the end and things were somewhat solved and mostly apologized for.

I just hope to see that both people can truly recover from this, and move on and learn from it.

The last thing I want is Al's reputation to be marred simply because he's willing to help and stick up for a 14-year-old kid. That isn't fair even if the kid has made a few mistakes which have nothing to do with Al.

He offered me my first ball python after seeing my post here on Fauna 3 years ago, and even supplied a tank and a water dish that he had extra so it would save me some money. He held the snake for a month (despite many offers from people who saw the pic he posted) so I could save up, and then drove 2 hours at night to bring him to me and make sure my setup was correct. He put up with my frantic newbie phonecalls when I couldn't figure out why my snake's belly was turning pink (shedding) and when he wouldn't eat that first week (needed to settle in). He supplied rats when I couldn't find the right sized ones locally. He introduced me to morphs, taught me about genetics, and even called me to come over when his albino x 50% het albino clutch of 5 eggs pipped 5 little albino heads. That was the first time I ever got to see babies hatching and he knew albinos were my favorite. When I left for Basic Training, Al took the ball python he sold me and cared for him for the next 16 months for FREE, then when I was able to have him again he shipped him to me at Fort Hood. How awesome is that? All from some guy that found my ad online and had no idea who I was or anything about me other than I was some newbie 19-year-old that had wanted a snake for a long time. The male I got from him is still my sweetest and most docile snake, one that I would NEVER part with and love as much as I do my furry pets. He's my baby and my most prized snake, even as I add others with higher dollar value. Al has a big heart and knows that everyone has to start somewhere, and he's willing to help any kid that has a desire to learn. He's been my inspiration from the beginning and always will be. In my opinion, he's a GREAT GUY and would never do anyone wrong.
