• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Joe Pierce (BAD GUY)

For everyone looking for Mr. Pierce, he has resurfaced...in the KS classifieds this time.

Joe, we are still awaiting a reply. Perhaps you could reply at another site where you may feel protected, you could respond to some posts there. Or you could be a man and reply here, like thats going to happen :shootfoot

Wish I read this sooner

Never doing business with Mr. Pierce before, I answered an ad for some corns on KS. This was last Friday. I was on the road, and couldn't access paypal through my phone so I told him I'd send him a MO on Monday when I returned home. As I emailed him to let him know I was on the way to the post office to mail his MO, he emailed me saying that he sold them to another that could "pay faster". What an unscrupulous schmuk. I'm so glad I got his email before I made it to the PO.
I will not be doing business with Mr. Piece again.

KJ-
That's too funny. That's the ad I answered. What a schmuk.

In my experience (i.e., Joe selling POSSIBLE hets as definite hets and then ignoring the problem instead of fixing it), you might be the LUCKY one and the buyer might be the UNLUCKY one.

So far, I hit a dead end with Paypal (as long as he shipped me SOMETHING they don't care what it is, he's considered in the clear). I haven't heard back from the BBB yet. I filed with IC3, but they can't really do anything anyway. I called the phone I found associated with his name and the lady there told me I had the wrong number and hung up. I filed with FedEx, but never heard back from them. Once my fiancee gets done with the BAR exam, we might file against him in small claims court, but that will be later this year (but still within the statute of limitations).

Kristy:

I wish you the best of luck on your resolution. I would pursue a complaint with FedEx to let them know he is violating his waiver. (Please don't push this so hard that it looks bad for ALL herpers!) It is possible that he would lose his shipping waiver if the right one(s) is/are made aware of the situation.

Did you pay with a CC through paypal? If so, CALL YOUR CC COMPANY! File a dispute THROUGH THEM. Paypal has to evaluate the situation then. ...and your CC is often more helpful since YOU are their customer.

Was the package correctly labeled on the outside with something like "Live Harmless Reptiles?" Anything along those lines is OK as long as it has SOME type of content description. If not, he shipped illegally. That's maybe another club.

This link may or may not show up here http://www..com/forum/showthread.php?p=66409#post66409 (If it is blocked, PM me for the direct URL.) That is a thread on another site where you can post a problem (not BOI style!) with Joe where he CLAIMED he would resolve all of the issues. SPREAD THE WORD until he fixes his problems with ALL OF US!

Also, did you get the animals via an ad on the KS classifieds? If so, report that to them. Too many violations mean that they WILL pull his ability to post classifieds there. That'll hurt him in the pocketbook enough to maybe help you get a resolution from him! He already can't post on Rich's cornsnake site.

KJ

Anybody know if Rich has been paid? Joe Pierce claims that he has, but can anyone else confirm or deny this? Anybody in this thread besides Rich get their money back? or refunds? or what ever the proper course of action would be?

Joe, you have posted on Cornsnakes.com and you have ads on Kingsnake, we are all awaiting your reply to this thread (which we both know, you know exits, and you have undoubtedly been following). Please explain why you are no longer a 'bad guy". Where the rumors true, where you in Antarctica?

Is this the same Joe Pearce that had the "snakes Alive" buisness in CA during the early 90's? Best I recall, he said he was a highway patrolman or a game warden back then. Always wondered what happened to him.

Yeah, just read through the whole thread and saw it was the Joe of Snakes ALIVE! . I ordered from Joe multiple times in the mid nineties, always got what I ordered and fairly healthy too. The third year I ordered from him, I got a $1500 charge on my credit card NINE MONTHS after recieving the last order. When I CALLED, AND CALLED.....a lady answered and promised to have him call me. After a week, he answered when I called and said it was just an "error" and he would have the money charged back. It came back allright, three weeks later, LOL. When I contacted the CC they said he had a month to return it after notification, so I figured he got free use of my "loan", lol. One and a half months later, a snake customer of mine that lives about forty miles away, came into the petstore and told me he had ordered in some snakes from a place in California, recieved them, and then six months later, his CC had been charged $1000 without him having contacted them in the interim. I asked him if the place was Snakes Alive! and he was amazed I knew who it was till I told him my tale. What are the odds...two people 40 miles apart who got charged large sums without ordering??? I wondered how many others had "floated loans" as we had? We both were repaid, but I contacted the State Attorney Generals office to set them wise to it. I never heard anything back on it though. Didn't loose any money but alot of peice of mind. After that, I got almost all of my stuff from LLoyd Lemke. Never a problem.

Joe, do you realize the damage you are doing to yourself by not responding here? Clear your name, respond here. Give us some proof that you have paid Rich Hume back (with interest, as you claim). Own up to your mistake with KJ, that cost him 3 years of raising animals to get a morph that that group could never produce. Three years of feeding and cleaning. Sure he got lavender bloods, but he didn't raise them 3 years to get lavender bloods, he raised them three years to get hypo lavender bloods, which at that time were worth a good sum of money, much more than lavender bloods. he bought them as an investment. They did not pan out, because you (Joe Pierce) did not know the genetics of the parents. There was time and income lost on the project.

The longer you continue to ignore this thread, the longer your "reputation" will take to recover. This thread will not die. You will not be allowed to disappear for a few years only to reappear later and act as nothing ever happened. The BOI will not allow you that luxury. You must publicly account for your actions if you want the respect you so obviously desire.

Don't be this guy :shootfoot

Yes Mike but how many new customers will find this thread

Unfortunately that is the problem. Probably not many, that is why I (and other) do my best to keep this thread at the top of the BOI and post links to the BOI any time we see someone mention Joe or his animals.

Like many of you, I saw a thread yesterday on Cornsnakes.com "showing off" animals bought by Joe. I felt sickened and distressed, but chose not to respond to the thread because I greatly respect Susan, and she asked for people not to get into a debate.

Here's a quick quote from the thread..
Thanks to everyone who has complimented these new additions of mine. I am very happy with them.

In response to the comments about Joe Pierce's credibility and reputation, I am fully aware of the issues other members of the corn snake community have had with Joe in the past and present. I knew this when I initiated contact with Joe to inquire about the snakes and I decided that I wanted this pair enough that I would risk receiving unsatisfactory animals in the hopes that I would receive satisfactory ones. In other words, I gave Joe the benefit of the doubt. People make mistakes... Sometimes very big mistakes. People also change. The pair were of normal yearling size, and as far as I can tell they are healthy animals. They are currently being quarantined just as any of my newbies would. The transaction between myself and Joe was smooth and am a happy customer.

I would appreciate it if any further comments concerning Joe Pierce are taken to the BOI, or are directed towards me via PM.

Thanks.

I guess it just greatly disturbs me that someone could read this thread (I'm guessing that was how they became "fully informed" and decide to support Joe.

As far as this whole "personal attack" thing goes.. after reviewing this thread again, I can't find one area that to me sounds like a personal attack against Joe's character. All that is presented here are people's experiences and FACTS. Opinions of Joe, honestly, have been quite civil considering the magnitude of his scamming.

I guess I just feel helpless that people are buying Joe's corns. Seeing that photo thread made me feel very frustrated, and I didn't know where else to vent. I hope that Joe's reputation among those who might spend a lot of money on his stock is sufficiently damaged, I just wish there was more we could do to spread the word to those unsuspecting.
