Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Joe Pierce (BAD GUY)

He ran from the police just like he runs from customers he screwed and people he owed money to.

I guess we might have an idea about WHY he was stealing money, bouncing payments from charge card to charge card without the owner's permission, and lying about the snake he was selling to people to get more money. His behavior (i.e., appear, seem OK, rip people off, disappear, and then repeat the cycle) makes a LOT of sense if he has had a long-term drug habit.

Anyone else notice this part of the article: "and two game offenses." So, I have to wonder if he had some illegal snakes???

I just finished reading this thread and I have to say... WHOA. For someone who is such a big part of the reptile community to fall so far... is just saddening. I'm glad that Mr. Hume got compensated in some way, that makes me glad.

This Joe Pierce guy is a real piece of work. I do not plan to ever do business with him, that is if he can stay out of prison. :laugh:

Not according to Rich, who says here that he considers it past and even says that he was compensated in part.

I'm not defending Joe Pierce, from what I've heard in this thread he can be very shady and I wouldn't trust him if my life depended on it, but you can't hang a man on the pretense he's done nothing to make a wrong a right when he has put forth a half-arsed effort at least. And by account of the wronged party their score is settled. And that's all I have to say.

So from my perspective, I am fine with what I received, as anything greater than zero is a plus, and there is no reason strictly on my behalf to hold anything over Joe’s head anymore.

I do greatly appreciate the fact that I have so many friends out there who came to my defense on this issue over the past several years. In fact, I had no idea how many friends I really did have in this community until I received the outpouring of support that came out of this episode. Let me tell you that this compensation has meant as much to me as any monetary amount that could have been due me.

As a final note, please appreciate as stated above that this is a closed chapter in my life, and this is the only time I intend to respond to this issue. I am only doing this at this point because several individuals have pointed out to me that people have recently been asking about whether I have been compensated or not, so I felt in fairness that I should state publicly that I am fine with the solution that was arrived at. This is intended only in reference to Joe's issues with me personally, and not as a commentary on anything that may have gone on with other individuals.

An Alturas man was arrested Wednesday on charges of drug possession and attempting to elude police on Interstate 84 in northeast Oregon.

According to Oregon State Police, an OSP sargeant attempted to stop Joe Pierce, 51, of Alturas, for a speed violation.

Pierce allegedly failed to pull to the side of the road and tried to elude the sargeant with speeds reaching 80 mph, according to an OSP release.

Troopers deployed spike strips on the highway, causing Pierce's front tires to deflate and sending his car off of the freeway and into a fence. Troopers then allegedly found approximately one-quarter pound of marijuana in the car.

Pierce was lodged in the Malheur County Jail, charged with felony attempt to elude, unlawful possession, distribution and manufacture of marijuana, reckless driving, second-degree criminal mischief and two game offenses.

What a Jackass, Mr Pierce.
The pot is bad enough but those 2 game offenses really piss me off. I hope that's not because he's been collecting protected native species. Malheur county is in an are known as The Great Basin where reptiles appear that are unique to that area...

Not only did he put his own life in danger, but without any regard whatsoever put the lives of the responding officers and any innocent bystanders at risk. A truly selfish move.
He needs help, not customers.
 
The QP of pot is no big thing. that is not that much weed. I dont know why he did not stop I guess the weed must have been skunky. You think a former Chip would know better than to speeding with 1/4 pound of pot in the car.
 
Hi Dand, that is what you call plain stupid. The fact that he was a cop he should know better. Weed and to game violations. Sure lets speed. If I say what is truly on my mind I would get banned.
 
Just curious, are we sure that's the same Joe Pierce? I don't know much about where the dude's from or anything.

Secondly, I find it truly bizarre he would try to run from the cops. I don't think that ever works? And it sure gets you in a hella lot more trouble.
 
I noted in his post to Kat (in the CS.com thread from a while back) that he mentioned having family in Oregon and as far as I know he is from California. So there is reason to believe it is the same person. :shrug01:
 
It looks like his cornsnakes.com profile lists him as being from Alturas, so yeah, probably the same guy.
(If anyone knows what joe's age is that might help hammer home the nails too)
 
I like to know if it is true about the rumor I heard about why he got fired.
I heard he was pulling over woman and asking for sexual favors to avoid getting a ticket. If it is true it is totally disgusting. Can I see him doing it ???? YES. Is it true I have no idea. Does anyone have a link.
