In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Joe Pierce (BAD GUY)

Address for Joe Pierce per his ACR Breeder info says Alturas, California
Joe Pierce Corn Snakes Alive

And we share the same birthday (8/17/59) which makes him 51, so I dare say it's the same guy.

And a good reason why one would do their best to run from the police for minor offenses is if they have prior offenses and perhaps are breaking parole. I'll put money down that Mr. Pierce isn't heard from for awhile now.

Not sure why he got fired - that was before he screwed or anyone really close to me, so I didn't pay all that much attention to him. People in that position don't usually get let go like that unless they do SOMETHING, though. Shrug?

Hume said he was compensated. My impression was that he did NOT get full payment plus a reasonable amount of interest for what amounted to an unsecured loan. In other words, I believe that Hume got what he could (the minimum he felt was "enough") and cut his losses on the rest. Joe likely gypped him out of the rest of what it would take to make ME think of him as a "good guy" instead of a "bad guy." Only Hume and Joe know for sure (I guess), but that does NOT make Joe a good guy know matter what he did with Hume. Joe still hasn't made it right with everyone else he has screwed.....

I would bet money that Joe ran because of priors, because he was high at the time and freaked, or both. I hope he's kept away from decent people for many, many decades.

I just want to post the info from those two articles in case they get removed (or redirected) in the future. I certainly don't want future potential customers of his to miss out on seeing what those articles said.

On March 2, 2011 an OSP sergeant attempted to stop a vehicle for a speed violation on Interstate 84 near milepost 362. The vehicle failed to yield and attempted to elude at speeds reaching 80 mph. Troopers deployed spike strips near milepost 371, deflating both front tires and leading to the driver going off the freeway and into a fence. Troopers arrested JOE PIERCE, age 51, from Alturas, California and lodged him in the Malheur County Jail for Felony Attempt to Elude, Unlawful Possession/Distribution/Manufacture of Marijuana, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, and two game offenses. He was in possession of approximately 1/4 pound of marijuana. (Photograph link provided showing vehicle following this incident)

An Alturas man was arrested Wednesday on charges of drug possession and attempting to elude police on Interstate 84 in northeast Oregon.

According to Oregon State Police, an OSP sargeant attempted to stop Joe Pierce, 51, of Alturas, for a speed violation.

Pierce allegedly failed to pull to the side of the road and tried to elude the sargeant with speeds reaching 80 mph, according to an OSP release.

Troopers deployed spike strips on the highway, causing Pierce's front tires to deflate and sending his car off of the freeway and into a fence. Troopers then allegedly found approximately one-quarter pound of marijuana in the car.

Pierce was lodged in the Malheur County Jail, charged with felony attempt to elude, unlawful possession, distribution and manufacture of marijuana, reckless driving, second-degree criminal mischief and two game offenses.

Wasn't he MIA for 2-5 already? The next questions is, is this his second or third strike? If it is the third it could be a real long while before he is heard from again.

The real sad part about all of this is that if this truly is Joe Pierce then he still has many snakes sitting somewhere....I really hope there is someone to care for them or this could quickly end up being another black eye for the hobby.

I met Joe sometime around 1985, when he was just starting with herps. He was a dishonest poacher all the way back then. I went to his home in Alturas, saw his collection, and listened as he tried to screw a young man out of his snake. He offered to sell me a Rubber Boa, captive bred. Getting tired of hearing his crap, I went upstairs (Joe kept his whole collection in a dirt cellar under his house that you had to get to with a ladder) and spoke with his wife. She asked if I was going to buy anything from her husband, and I told her he offered to sell me the boa. She then smiled and related the story of how her son found it in the back yard the day before. I knew then I would never, ever deal with him, and I never have. I won't go into detail on the attempted screwing of the young man with me, but I did put a stop to it. He was an ass and a crook almost 30 years ago. Nothing has changed, and I'm not suprised at all.

That is so very true. I did not even think about animals he has. Not just snakes he had an assortment of animals.

I hope nobody thought I was trying to defend Mr. Pierce. I still think of him as a very bad guy and I hope if the man arrested was really him that he stays locked up where he can't take advantage of people for a long time.

Is there something we can do for the animals? I'd hate for something bad to happen to them because their owner is a moron. :no01:

This is just the icing on the cake, It says it all.

Either his dealer has already broken into his place and taken them for payment for past monies due or he'll have someone (orchestrated by making his one phone call) sell them off for his legal defense.

I'm willing to bet the wife knows how to take care of them and has had to do so before on his previous disappearing act.
Ken Foose, I am very glad you came forward with your story. I wish there were some way to find out more info about those two "game offense".

OH yes... I'd forgotten about his wife. You're right, she's probably capable of taking care of the animals for him. Especially if he's gone away before.:NoNo:

Y'all should be ashamed, poor guy is in jail and not capable of coming here and defending himself. Oh wait, he never defended himself in the first place, most likely because he is a lying piece of trash. Proceed.

Is, "we told ya so" out of line?

The last I knew Joe had a girlfriend,if she lived there or helped with the reptiles I don't know. He also has a couple children, hopefully somebody will take care of the animals.
I'm also hopeful Joe gets the help he needs. He is the only one who must suffer any consequences for his actions & behavior. So why the need to kick him when he's down?:shrug01:
Rich settled for the compensation that Joe gave him. Isn't that what we all wanted? I'm not defending what transpired or Joe's behavior. Are we all so perfect that we need to keep kicking someone when they are down? Just to feel better about ourselves.:shrug01:Or is there another motive? Greed, self centeredness, fasle pride?
Did anyone else start their own post on how they were mistreated? I didn't, I chose to move on with my life. The past is just that. You can't change it, learn from it & grow. All any of us has is today~ take some time & live it before it's gone.
If you want to be stuck in yesterday that's your choice. Go ahead & wallow in it and be miserable. I'll pray for ya.
Peace & Love,
Tom Thompson

So has anybody heard anything else about Mr. Pierce? Was he arrested? is he still there? does he have any active ads right now?

I really don't understand why anyone would consider buying an animal from that guy right now, or even in the last two year. Please help spread the word, he will come back, hoping all has been forgotten.

Joe Pierce

Thanks to everyone commenting looks like I'll save myself from some grief. I was in the process of working out a deal on a group of high-end corns a month or so ago and then all communication from Joe stopped. I recently saw ad of his appear in the kingsnake classifieds and at first thought for some reason he didn't want my business. So I decided to check him out here and I'm glad I did. Kens story alone is enough for me not to deal with him.

Joey is back, trying to sell animals on the source, not that I am a fan of the source, but a warning to any and all potential buyers, stay away. in the source ad, he mentions that he "starter breeding late" (something like that) for "personal reasons". My understanding is that he was in jail for game violations. Joe, we are still waiting to hear why you ripped off Rich in the first place.
