Things seem to be going off course. We ship animals, there are costs involved,we accept that. That being said, we have a basic knowledge of how much things generally will cost. All I wanted to know was, what am I paying for? If you do not let me know,I will ask. If I knew there was a 29.00 box charge we would have thanked the man for his time and left it at that. It was not presented to us in the begining that there was a box charge. All charges, I guess were lumped under shipping. Sooo, being that we were under the assumtion that the guy may be paying to much for shipping (not everyone has shipping knowledge, and please keep in mind ,we do not know him or even heard of him before this deal) I offered to look into shipping because I felt we could get a better rate. The man does not mention any box charges and at this point and seems good with me looking into less expensive shipping because he sends us his zipcode and the box size. Its not until after this do we even hear box charge and shipping. So now I feel like, why didn't you say that in the begining. Even though some people are good with paying a huge box fee, I am not and I am wondering why is it so high for a small box. I don't think my actions are out of character in trying to find out what we are being charged for and how much. At that point I get a bit uneasy about this deal. Why, because we are not being told what charges are for what.Again, with no break down on charges I offered him the cost of his animal and actual shipping charges. His reply was a quick"I'll keep her. That just left me feeling like,I upset him over an assumed 29.00 box charge...I personally never heard of or paid 29.00 for any box,let alone one that was only 8x8x6.It made me feel like I was being scammed. Like I said I did not know the man, did not know he was a Doctor and whats more did not know why he couldn't have just said right from the begining-there is a box charge of 29.00. It was upsetting to us because we did want the animal and felt we were not being unreasonable in our request. So it further made me feel like something is fishy here. I know if I did things like this to my customers, they would call me out on it. If the gentleman has not done a lot of shipping, then all the more reason for him to be up front with his policy, after all I don't know him and he doesn't know me. The whole underlying reason this thread was started was because,we felt there was something not right. I am not out to hang anyone, just making my feelings public for others to know in case they have the same thing happen to them .Selling and buying on the internet, I know many of you can attest to scams being worked, especially in this business. This just felt like it was to us. Not knowing who your dealing with you can only judge by what transpires in your messaging. If the Doctor meant no wrong, I am not saying he did. But I am saying things should NOT be so vague that people have to guess at what is what.At least be up front with your charges so people know there is a high box charge involved and the costs are not just shipping. Then AFTER your customer looks into getting a less expensive rate suddenly say "and box charge"....(if you buy, lets say a car that you have been looking for, for 1000.00 delivered and you know that normal delivery charges are 200.00 and the car is only 500.00 ,you wouldn't ask why the delivery is so expensive? If money is no object ,I guess you wouldn't care but if money is a bit tuff to aquire you would ask and if the salesman says,"we use a special trailer" wouldn't you say" what kind of trailer costs 500.00 when everyone else gets the cars to there customers for only 200.00? If the salesman says suddenly well we decided to just keep the car, good bye. YOU WOULD BE WONDERING WHATS UP WITH THAT? THAT IS NOT RIGHT. Really at this point, I guess we can all agree to disagree. If you feel the guy was good with what he did then again, that is your feelings. These were our feelings based on years of doing business in this field not a witch hunt.We thought we were being helpful to others.
